It quite obviously does good sir, you just need some imagination and foresight to see space=land. It has all of the other elements.
Natural resources: Asteroid belts and moons for mining
Mining: Asteroid belts
Collaboration: Make an alliance or join one and collaborate, until someone disbands your alliance or something crazy like that :P You get intel and you fight other alliances all in the name of internet seriousness
Also the developers have no say in any of this ;D
No say except when they give BoB 10 valuable blueprints ;)

You are de-railing this thread sir.
Valve doesn't enter the market of MMO's for a reason people.
Which is?
You are de-railing this thread sir.
No you
A Left4Dead MMO would work.
That would be a pretty terrible idea actually and it would destroy the half-life plot. Could you really picture rebel ninjas assassinating combine with a fucking crowbar?
Thats pretty much what Jailbreak is :/
HL2 + Winter Camo skins + Quake weapons and Katanas + NO SERVERS = Jailbreak
But i doubt Valve could pull off anything as good and awesome as their usual games without making it an FPS. They could do it, but it would not live up to the Valve Quality Standards everyone has, and so it will go through some sort of boycott shit like L4D2.
A L4D MMO would be cool because there aren't enough zombie MMORPGs in the world (of Warcraft)
Who are valve?
Who are valve?
I am so disappointed in you, if your going to troll, atleast TRY.
MMORPGs should be banned. Just look at WoW. It is going to make the human race extinct because the people playing it will never sprout their mighty seed of the heavens into Lordess's Baking oven.
What the fuck does PPM stand for?

Multi player fps with rpg elements?
No because unfortunately that would just be TF2.
No really im new to the internet and i was typeing in funnny video names andd i found this site so pleasse tell me what is a valve or valve or what it is
What I would like to see in an MMO game:
Similar to Battlefield, Fallout and WoW. Large expanse of land that has little to no pre defined quests, goals, etc. There are areas with natural resources, areas suitable for constructing and mining, water, settlements and so on. Groups of players form to collaborate and control these points, working together to gain information on rival emplacements and how to overtake them. None of the actions would be directed by the game or by developers, but allow players to construct and fortify their own locations and figure out how to conduct business and arms trade.
It's kind of hard to explain without making it tl;dr, but, hopefully you get the idea.
I've dreamed of something like this for a very long time.
You know what I want to see in a MMORPG? I want to see player -oriented quests. Like "get x amount of y, give it to me, and you get z amount of my money." Then that person can use those items for themselves (cheaper than buying at the regular stores), or craft those items and make a profit.
They've already made one it's called TF2.
No because unfortunately that would just be TF2.
TF2 has like no rpg elements at all.
Except crafting and all the weapons having levels, as well as equipment (including hats) that is randomly dropped or obtained by completing achievements (which are practically just quests)
Valve should make a MMORPG
It would only work if you played as citizens.
And in a different area then where the freeman is.
And it can't be a grinding fagfest.
And wasn't an mmo.
And had good AI.
And was more RP, less stats.
Valve only makes first person shooters.
Except crafting and all the weapons having levels, as well as equipment (including hats) that is randomly dropped or obtained by completing achievements (which are practically just quests)
Too bad levels don't make your weapon better, so that doesn't really count.
Team Fortress 2.
Items system is already in, just change the network code and massive chunks of how the game works and make massive servers and you get an mmo.
the weapon levels do nothing
valve been learned pronz haz ze answez

A MMO from valve would be great. They could bundle it with Episode 3 and L4D4 and Portal 3. :argh:
