The original spore was bad... I am so glad I didn't buy it.
This game looks like it has the [b]potential[/b] to be good, but then again... so did Spore.
I tried last weeks beta. Couldn't stand it personally unsure how to put it but It was painful trying to play it.

Played the beta.
It's shitty amalgation of diablo gameplay and trying to give narrative to the spore universe.
not fun at all. boring.
When I first heard about Darkstore it was hinted at being what Spore was originally supposed to be, not what it was released as, so when I found out that it was some shitty off-shoot I lost interest.
Doubt I'll get this.

Atleast now it has autosave. A very good compromise.
Been in the beta since it started, seems pretty fun, although I'm sad that you can't create your own hero. I would buy it, but not at full price.

I played the beta a bit during the weekend and I was pretty impressed. I generally hated Spore so I was not going to give this much hope but I was very impressed.
If you love Diablo type games Darkspore is fucking great and it changes up the system just a little bit.
Rather then mass killing and looting weapons and armor you loot body parts and such to alter your characters appearance. (generally same stats as would be on weapons and armor are on the body parts)
It makes it unique and I might actually buy this.
PvP is pretty interesting.
Saint Jimmy and I played a bit, can be quite confusing though, especially on 2v2, so much happens on screen.
Don't really like it.
The levels are mostly walk through and defeat anything in the way and at the end be in one place and defeat enemies that are in that place.
The customization is fun but for it to have some diversity you need to go trough those levels.

Yeah, PvP was fun but it needs streamlining. Campaign was fun and it was hilarious when I got trapped in that arena on my own and got 3 rarefied items that level, just goes to show... I thoroughly enjoyed the beta, and will definitely play more next weekend. One problem though is that you can't exactly change playstyle with certain heroes, despite the customization. I could always just mix up my squad composition though.

I wouldn't say spore was bad, it just wasn't what everyone wanted.
I played the beta of this game yesterday, the editing of your heroes is much like the tribal stage in spore: The fucking items will never fit. Gameplay is like Diablo, fun at first, but very repetitive. This idea had potential but in the end it just failed, just like the original game did.
I hope they make it so you can make a creature in SPORE and import it into Darkspore.
If they make the game have a somewhat custom creature creator, I would play, but if they have an all out customizer, PVP is going to be Penis-monster galore.
