Personally I've never enjoyed a game as much as S.T.A.L.K.E.R:SHOC, not really the gameplay, simply the style and beauty of the landscape, just awesome. (not that gameplay was bad, it was good, but the world was the best bit IMO).

It's a tie between HL2 and STALKER series in general for me. Despite STALKER being quite buggy, I've had a love for everything Chernobyl ever since I learned about it, and STALKER is an amazingly immersive game.

What time? Apart from Halo they all came out in the last three years and in the same generation. Halo was only one generation ago too. Are you 12?
Star wars republic commando is one of my all-time favorites, I've reinstalled it I think 9 times.
Modern Warfare 2. It's the most polished game I've played, anyway, in terms of content in Single Player. Everything from the animations down to every little thing on the ground has so much detail thrown into it, and the voice actors kick ass.
Most people just disagree because of the lack of dedicated servers, because that totally has to do with the singleplayer. :downs:
