I cannot really deem any game the "best" but in each category there is obviously one that stands above the rest. I think perfect dark 64 was a fantastic shooter for the nintendo console, even if goldeneye came first, it built upon that and made vast improvements. When it comes to RPG's I would give it to Morrowind over oblivion, even if the combat system is a little flawd. It is all a preference thing.

The Half-Life series. I played Half-Life 1 when it first came out, and followed through the rest of the series. Including the Half-Life expansions.

I agree on the polishment and that every little detail have been worked on. But it's not the best game of all time. Just like Avatar with it superiority is not the best movie of all time.
I enjoyed MW2 singleplayer but the muiltplayer just gives me the shits.
Um.. seeing how I'm PC it would have to be Half life 2, just because it's really made this community great. If you didn't have half life you wouldn't have Gmod ;)
