Just bought it, hoping my laptop won't shit itself trying to play.
I've had this game for a couple of years, and it's one of my favourites. It's a shame that COOP is so buggy though, it's hard to join games. Versus is still played quite a bit, but I don't really like it that much. I got gifted SC Double Agent a couple days ago, and I must say, it sucks compared to Chaos Theory.
Actually does anyone near australia wanna to play co-op, I still need to finish the last two co-op missions.
Well, I'm in UK, but I don't mind. [editline]07:04PM[/editline]
Really OP? Versus is an excellent gamemode. Versus: In versus its the shadownet spies versus the mercs (2 players max for each team). The spies (played in 3rd person) have to complete the objectives (hacking computers, stealing cds/harddrives ect) and the mercs (played in 1st person) have to stop them. The spies have no leathal weaponry and can only kill mercs by jumping on them, pullling them off ledges or breaking their necks. How ever they have a tazor to stun the mercs and wide variety of non-leathal tools such as cloaks, sticky cameras, alarm snares, spy bullets (tracking devices(and listening to their mics)), smoke and flash grenades. The mercs however have mines, granades, tazors, spy traps and more. A game as spies: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ham_gzCgbYY A game as mercs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3stMC5KKQHg&feature=related
We really do need to get a hamachi splinter cell versus game going. 2v2
You can do It online can't you
is there a way to fix the PMC flashlight in versus? it doesn't appear for me and it's annoying [editline]02:54PM[/editline] and what the hell you said the versus mode isn't that good? it's way better than the coop imo, it was fucking amazing
I got gifted SC Double Agent a couple days ago, and I must say, it sucks compared to Chaos Theory.
It sucks compared to all of them.
We really do need to get a hamachi splinter cell versus game going. 2v2
I have hamachi and chaos theory updated
Im going to reinstall this :D
I thought about getting this game but didn't. I played pandora tommorrow and enjoyed it a long while back. And I hear this is the best one in the series... I just don't know if it's something I'd want to buy to play through (I probibly wouldn't be able to do multi since I assume it's going to be dead). On that note I absolutely loved Hitman Blood Money. Would you say it's as good as that game was as far as stealth action (I know it's two different kinds of stealth, just wondering).
SC is the best stealth game out there, the missions are extremely well designed, everything just feels so right and the multiplayer still has a few people playing and it would be fun if we could get games going (don't need hamachi btw)
I still think of this as the best co-op game ever. And the best stealth espionage game.
This thread made me buy this, never played splinter cell before so this should be fun.

Besides, they got sloppy on it, the deathmatch dumps you in a 1st person shooter with guns that have like 18 polygons in the model and it's overall shit (deathmatch). There are some fun other gamemodes though. Sorry if I mislead in the OP. [editline]11:35PM[/editline]
This thread made me buy this, never played splinter cell before so this should be fun.
The price on steam is a must buy for anyone who hasn't played it. It's one game you should fit into your collection of games, and now is a good time.
I bought it from the sales, I'm up for playing Versus if anyone else is.

The single player is incredible, they've put you in a new environment in each so it never gets old, and it's awesome figuring out the best ways to get past the next obstacle in your path. It's a decent length too.
Is this any good with a mouse though? I always figured Splinter Cell games were best suited for the smooth and "careful" movement that analog controllers provide. [editline]11:41PM[/editline] Also how long did it take you guys to beat it's SP?

[editline]11:41PM[/editline] Also how long did it take you guys to beat it's SP?
It uses the mouse really well actually, looking around with it is smooth and they've used the scroll wheel for the speed of your movement, which is really useful when you're needing to changing your walking speed to be quieter or speed up in someone you're trying to grab. I sound like some advertising shithead. :3: Also I haven't finished it yet because I don't want to finish it all in one go and I can't remember how long it is from the last time I played it. I'll definitely be replaying some missions because it does have good reply value too.
I've never played Chaos Theory. Someone should gift it to me so I can.
I'm too lazy to search, but there's a fix for the flashlight problem if you have a certain line of GFX cards, search around though, I used to have it.

The only downside to having this game is STARFORCE, Hope the Digital version doesn't have it, I know my DvD does =(

For some reason i missed out this one, i've played the first and Double Agent but i missed out this one, which is apparently the best.
wow can we have a facepunch game because i just played online after all this time i didn't play and i sucked ass so much i got my ass kicked and i'd rather have a friendly game
I will play with you sometime. I only played multiplayer on Chaos Theory once
I used to play competitively on the xbox but that was like years ago and I haven't played this game in so long
I used to play competitively on the xbox but that was like years ago and I haven't played this game in so long
I played a fair bit of Double Agent multiplayer on 360 and that was fun.
DA was much more noob friendly but it was just so disappointing how they stripped so many features from the game
