This thread is starting to smell heavily of Dirty Elitists and Fanboys.
This thread is starting to smell heavily of Dirty Elitists and Fanboys.
yeah xbox elite is pretty shit
No, I meant Elitists, not the Elite. You ignoramus!
It's cheaper and it came out first, that's why most people have one. Both systems are good and worth buying. I'm looking to buy a cheap PS3 when I get my college grant at the end of the month because it has kick ass exclusives. I find the main reason to choose a 360 or PS3 are the exclusives and the controllers, I hate the PS3 controller, it just feels wierd to me.
That is actually, not true anymore. A brand new PS3 Slim costs 300 dollars with a 120 gig hard drive, internal wireless receiver and free internet play. Now, the older versions of the Xbox(not slim) will cost around 200 dollars without a hard drive(which will cost 100 or up), wireless receiver if you need one(last time I saw one was about a year ago for 100), and if you want to play online, it's another 50 dollars. While the Playstation 3 may have cost ridiculous amounts of money when it first released, it is a common misconception that the Xbox is still cheaper. [editline]11:35AM[/editline]
Nothing.
XBox 360 was made by Microsoft... soooo, yeah... Thats your biggest problem right there...
everyone one facepunch hates consoles. Every fucking one of you. I play both, and don't really see the difference between cross-pc and console games. But for games only on pc, like crysis, etc... The graphics are much better. But if your going around telling your friends that if he plays emmdubya two on the pc it will look better, you best be shittin me. Its the same. Also, i play console mostly, and i do pretty good in games, when i play any fps on the pc i do way better, or the same. So don't say "oh i play pc i kick your controller ass lolololol" also, the rrod is gone from any console made past april 2009, unless you put it in a box with no air flow. Deal with it. and there aren't many kids on xbl, maybe like 1/8. There is this thing called mute you know.
lol
Alright, it's really down to preference. One will not be worth more than the other by that much. Do what you want. Look at the exclusives and decide for yourself. There are more Xbox exclusives, but they scored lower on metacritic than PS3 exclusives (Generally). It is completely personal preference. Watching you guys argue is pathetic.
My Xbox triple RROD'd yesterday. I'm sending it in. I hope it doesn't take any more than a week. :[
I was a Sony fan boy, I had PS1 and PS2 loved 'em but I got an Xbox 360 because everyone of my friends got one, I didn't want to be alone I mainly wanted a new console to play with friends so it's not a bandwagon, I hate how games have to be exclusive though I would love to try some uncharted and God of War but not have to give up Alan Wake and Gears of War ect, it's kind of a fuck in the ass to the gamers...
It's not the console, it's the gamer. EVERYBODY'S MIND IS FUCKING DIFFERENT, SOME HATE IT, SOME DON'T...Me? I'm the guy in the middle. :v:
I think it comes down to games. Seeing as I can only afford one console, I figured that the PS3 would be better for me simply because I wanted to play future God Of War and Gran Turismo games. Oddly enough, all my friends that had an Xbox 360 purchased a PS3 all because of me. Soon I will getting the Xbox 360 just so I can have the best of both worlds. So money doesn't lead to happiness? I call bullshit. [editline]04:00AM[/editline] I think it comes down to games.
The only problems with 360 that i can see can be described in 2 words: Xbox live. And no, i am not defending playstation network in any way since that also sucks.
xbox live is the best thing about xbox. what are you smoking?
If I were to get a next gen console this is the things that I would be considering at: I have a pretty good gaming PC, which is also my preferred platform. The PS3 exclusives sounds more interesting to me, especially MGS4 (one of my favourite game series) I would probably don't pay for LIVE since I'm not really a multiplayer person.
I am passive. I mean, the PC and so one is good, but why did Microsoft have to make it, they have the fucking PC, not like Macs HAD games before the Xbox came out. Then there is the XBL fee to play online...
Like all of you, this thread is stupid
A new guy using an over-used comic with only 63 posts. That means a lot.
Gah, PS3 fanboys come with that rrod shit all the time because they need arguments why xbox fails. also sure you gotta pay for XBL, but hey, it's so much better than PSN I mean, I rather pay for something that works all the time for sure than for something that's bugged sometimes, not saying PSN is bugged but hell, look at the first two days when MW2 came out, it didn't work properly on PSN.
Also, xbox live is $50 a year. PC players call it a rip off and then pay $15 a month to play WoW.
My biggest and probably only reason I really hate the Xbox is having to pay to play online. If I wanted to pay to play online then I'd buy a MMORPG. And on top of that, if you wanted to play a MMORPG on a console, not only would you have to pay for the gold membership, you also have to dish out $15 a month to play your MMORPG game.
You know Microsoft could just put ads on various locations on the Xbox 360 and it could easily pay for the hosting.
The problem with gaming is that everyone seems to blindly defend their platform of choice, no matter how dumb they sound. I play games mainly on my Xbox 360, and I'll admit there are quite a few problems with it; the failure rate, extra stuff to buy, fragile headsets, and a lot more. Most gamers, however, will claim that there's nothing wrong with their console, or they'll try to justify the problems. All this does is cause conflict in the gaming community, when we should actually be banded together due to similar interests. The Phantasy Star Universe Demo is a free MMO, but the full game has a monthly fee. Microsoft doesn't force the subscription.
All platforms are equal, they all have pros and cons in various different aspects. The PS3 is perfectly fine, the 360 is perfectly fine, the Mac is perfectly fine, the wii is perfectly fine, the ds is perfectly fine, the psp is perfectly fine, the PC is perfectly fine. Debating over which is better is just stupid.
paying for an MMORPG --> paying to play online one game paying for xbox live --> paying to play online all the games you own now stop comparing an mmorpg with xbox live gold membership
No, he has a legitimate point. PS3 and PC have free online play, but on Xbox 360 you have to pay. It's up to you to decide on whether or not paying $5 a month is worth it.

Also in all fairness whoever gets an MMO on a console is just daft anyway.
