I kinda see the OP's point. Dow2 was terrible compaired to Dow1
you know actually its just new units with new weapons. Kinda like TF2 updates.
you obviously know fuck all about game development.
Dawn of War 2 is terrible so it's no real big deal for me personally.
I just hope that they eventually get around to either making a new IP or Homeworld 3.
Really? Or are you just trying to disagree with me? Anyway its the multiplayer thats a draw.
No I'm serious MP in an rts for the most part is just silly, NPC opponents can be as smart as you want, they never ragequit on you, they use diverse tactics, and they aren't assholes, except something like Ghandi in Civ 5.
Oh fuck! I bought a sequel to a game that I like and it doesn't have enough new stuff! It must be the developers!
Maybe it is you who are ungrateful. They put a lot of work into this and you think that just because you THINK you have an outside knowledge of video game development and video game marketing, that you can just discredit everything they are/were doing? Nope. Maybe you should try and understand better before jumping at shadows, or better yet don't bother whining and bitching at all. Toodles.
Maybe it is you who are ungrateful.
I don't agree with the OP on any level, but saying someone is ungrateful for not enjoying a product they paid money for is pretty fucking dumb.
I didn't mean like THAT. I'm just saying that he's overreacting and that he should just be happy they are updating the series at all.

or this guy is a masterwork troll and you're overreacting
Relic didn't make Soul Storm.
And these are full expansions, something you don't really see today. They're more than worth the price. Were Relic like other Developers they would have been released as full price games or a a dozen $5 DLC packs.
If $30 is too much then you best just quit now.
Relic didn't finish all this to sell back. No they shipped the full game, reallocated resources and got to work on an expansion. Some of the content is reused or based from other content, but the entire expansion is made from start to finish within that one year period.
When they finish one project they start work on the next. It's not a bunch of half finished games being chopped up and sold to you.

nobody here is trolling. go back to 4chan.
i love milk aswell. :q:
Oh you.
You're a rich bastard.
What's the matter, your parents not giving you enough allowance every week to get you a game? Need to cry for mommy to buy you it instead?
Yup. You think they start working on it after releasing something? Trust me, they've finalised most of it, just waiting to be released and milked.
Do you have any sort of credible source/evidence to back this up?
Thought as much.
For those of you who play DOW2, it seems that every time Relic adds a new faction, they release a new expansion. For the original DOW, it had 3 expansions, first they added the IG, then 4 more factions in DC, then 2 more in Soulstorm (which was short lived).
I guess now they've learned they're lesson, so they've decided to do it one at a time. Imagine Relic releasing 5 more expansions! I'd really be milked dry!
Thanks a lot Relic. I'd prefer they update the original game with more stuff instead of releasing so many expansions. And make it cheaper too.
inb4 no one is forcing you to buy, but I'd hate to keep on playing an outdated version.
stop reading my earlier comments. Scroll down.
The first game did not have Tyranids. The reason there is currently one faction per expansion, is because the ones they have currently added are the most popular W40K armies.
The Necrons weren't really good enough to be on their own for an expansion, so they added them with the Tau. It was the same with the Dark Eldar and Sisters of Battle aswell. They did not add 4 mroe in DC, it was 2.

Damn my forgetfulness, but were there those Eldar Harlequins in any of the expansions/the main game? I got kinda bored of the DoW series after I began playing MUDs.
They were added in an expansion but I can't recall which.
just gonna throw in here that I think DLC(such as campaigns) is fine as long as it's appropriately priced
if I buy a game for 50$ that only has singleplayer and five campaigns, DLC adding one more campaign ought to be $10.

Oh damn, I suppose my wallet can take ANOTHER Emperor-damned hit.

Harlequins appeared in Dark Crusade.
I'd love it if Relic released five more expansions. Maybe I'd finally get to play the Tau in DOW2. :argh:
You can tell the OP has never played the tabletop since he's complaining about the price of warhammer merchandise :v:
Still waiting for the next CoH game. :argh:
For as much crap Relic gets for what you are talking about, at least it can be said that they have provided a lot of support for both Company of Heroes & Dawn of War series.
Most of the standalone expansions perhaps started out a tad pricey but are eventually offered at unbeatable deals esp. in gold or 3-pack editions. I bought Company of Heroes 3-pack for like 9.99, and CoH is the HIGHEST rated strategy game of all time.
I'm no fanboy by any stretch of the imagination, I think that Relic's network is bollucks and that their initial Games for Windows live move with DoW2 was an atrocious idea. They've got a lot to work on.
However I believe at the end of the day it's safe to say Relic is a quality producer of games and i for one will probably support future endeavors.
I think you can manage $40 every 14 months.

relic are sweet
and the only reason I buy the DoW games is their single player, I'm not much of a fan of any mutiplayer games, sans the whole one I play
