Does anyone know how to make a track with the minecart that can ride me up and down my house by the click of a button?
Just a simple route up and turning immediately back around the same path down the house.

The tree grew directly at the skycap, so it basically cut itself like that because no blocks can't go past the skycap.

Oh wow, never experienced anything like that yet because I've always stayed on smaller areas and only went ontop of that mountain because I wanted to see what was behind it. I won't cut that tree though it looks interesting.

I tried this for a bit, it was nice but I had to soften it because it's too noisy (in game blocks right next to each other were randomly darker and lighter)

I think that would be Cartographer - if you have a bukkit server, you can use Dynmap for a dynamic map

Obsidian is already pretty simple to mine. Find lava, pour water over it and mine. The only part that can make it much easier is casting molds.

I saw the picture of the red/green wool being agree/disagree and it looked pretty bad, since they were just red and green squares.

This thread reminds me of something funny at work.
At work, we have price scanners for customers to use that make a beep when you tap the screen. The touch screen controls nothing, it is a waste.
Anyway, about 5 minutes after I started, I heard the beeping repeated very quickly, and I thought the machine was broken. I ran over, and there was a 13 year old pressing the screen over and over. Unsure of what to do, I stood there and watched for a few seconds, until his mum called him away. He turned towards me, and he had a vacant look on his face. His mum said that they where going to find someone (I presume his brother), and he proceeded to yell "Tell us where you are <Name I didn't quite catch> WE ARE COMING TO FIND YOU" over and over in a derpy voice. Remember this guy was ~13.
