So, Microsoft plans on making the PC the casual gaming and the exbawks the normal gaming platform? Fuck no. Also ""Buying things enhances my gaming experience." :suicide:
Whatever happened to Solitaire?
Too hardcore.
My blood pressure just shoot up into the skies. I'm shaking a bit after seeing the horrors of this video. If this really turns out to be the future of PC gaming, then I'm leaving this planet. [editline]20th March 2011[/editline] automergeeeee
Ewwwww Facebook. Where the money flows, marketers go.
Makes sense doesn't it?. Microsoft has sold 10 million Kinects to date, they know how to make money, and you can't force 10 million people to buy your products.
fuck off microsoft, kthx
I wish companies would quit throwing the word 'social' around. Just because you add microtransactions and some sort of friend system doesn't make anything 'social'. The game industry needs to stop catering to casual scrubs.
It sells. You a part of market which is highly demanding, hard to satisfy and thus unappealing, with has standards concerning the price and quality of the product. Market which hears on the word "social" is much bigger, much easier to satisfy, and often more willing to release more money. I am actually pretty glad for this, because hopefully all the corporate investors going for pure profit will flock to the "social gaming" zone, and only game investors/developers left will be these with at least a little bit of interest into making actually good games.
God the trailer just feels so fake and contrived.
Microsoft's plans to PC gaming (note this isn't specifically aimed against Microsoft, it's just one of the many corporations)
:raise:
Again this looks like something for the casual Facebook people and Xbox LIVE members so I don't see why you guys are making a huge deal out of something that won't ever affect you. I don't think Microsoft is going to FORCE all PC gamers to do this.
My friends and I can connect together? I can quickly see new games, new discount proposition and gaming news all in one place? I can see what my friends scores and statistics and what they think of the games that I currently do not have? I can buy stuff in game or games themselves in the same place as everything above? Wow! That's fucking new and awesome! Wait a minute... Augh. That's just obscene. It's not really Microsoft's fault though. You can't really blame a corporation for trying to get more profit.
Lovin' how many dislikes the video is getting. Hopefully that will be a hint to Microsoft. (Though probably not).
:raise:
Not specifically aimed at it, while it still falls into the category. Because this thread is about Microsoft, it's used in description of the picture. What are you, dumb?
The Future of PC Gaming is upon us!
Steam FTW!
Can Valve release a new OS please
Hey guys we'll be able to spend real money on arbitrary points for digital clothing. :colbert:
2:37 to 2:52. That's supposed to be Battlefield 2: Modern Combat. :v:
Modern Combat is the Console version :colbert: I had what I thought would be a permanent look of complete disgust watching that video until the end when I could finally break it and think "Heh, Wake Island 2007" He also has Halo 3 on his PC. And 90% of the 'Selling Point' for this stuff is 'You can buy DLC!'
Best comment ever 'lollololo. Nice try micro$oft, but valve beat you to* it. I pirated your OS, by the way.'
I pirated your OS, by the way.
Who hasn't (User was banned for this post ("Hinting at warez" - Overv))
Oh god, I laughed so hard at this. Microsoft sure does know what gaming means. :v:
Whatever happened to Solitaire?
Now you can play it with your friends!
Who hasn't
Not me. :colbert:
What pisses me off the most about this is everybody loses out except Microsoft. It pollutes communities with even MORE "social networking" bullshit, fragments potential communities and is aimed at the wrong people. All these social games (and I use the word lightly) and networks don't even add anything. GFWL is just doing what steam does, but in a much more restricted way and social games are barely games at all, they have no value. There's no story, character, innovation or even new ideas. It's all designed to milk money out of those who can't control themselves and those who don't know better. Which is why you spend Microsoft Funbux™. $2 for a stupid pallet swap? What am I an idiot? But wait, the same thing is available for only 150 Funbux™? Hell yeah I'll buy that, I mean it's not real money. I'll just buy this $5 Funbux™ card to get 500 points! I'm saving so much money! The whole thing makes me fucking sick.
i hate the whole style/art of xbl, too childish

(because internet in this meaning sorta is a form of mass media) [editline]20th March 2011[/editline] Don't forget to enjoy your advertisements and viral marketing!
i hate the whole style/art of xbl, too childish
I just find avatars obnoxious and I instantly hate anybody who has an MS avatar as their avatar in other areas, if you see what I mean.
Also, I hate the "But it'll help non-gamers become gamers!" shit. No it fucking wont. You don't get someone into movies by showing them Transformers, you don't get someone into books by showing them Twighlight and you don't get people into games by showing them Farmville. These nothing games, which add to nothing but the producer's coffers and my disguist, not only don't add anything, but they cheapen gaming by existing. They turn away potential fans, or sour the ideals of aspiring developers. Why play a new game when I can expand my shitty fucking farm? Why bother developing a new game when I'll get no support for my ideas? When the big guys who could get my game out to the masses are too busy developing CoD 56: Kotick's 4th Boat Deluxe Edition with a money plated gun? When the industry actively hates those with new ideas because there's a slightly greater risk of not making as large a profit and no chance for 50+ DLCs.
Can Valve release a new OS please
that would be awesome if valve released an OS.
