It's a fucking Alpha, of course not everything is in it yet.

its just that they claim so many things like having worked on it for more than 3 months and that it is gonna be fully released in november.

I'm pretty sure they will keep adding stuff like maps etc..
I suppose their goal for the November release is a mostly bug free game.

well i hope they delay the beta at least for 3-4 months since when a beta starts the game is supposed to be feature complete.
Just because they released an alpha version doesn't mean they stopped working on it.
jesus christ that was some horror shit right there
i joined a server and everyone spawned in the same area except none of our flashlights would work for some reason so we started saying friendly and stuff and ran into the town that was nearby. there were like 8 of us and as we got into the town we all spread out looking for loot, and after about a minute there was a loud gunshot.
i just froze and hid behind a barricade, and one of the guys that i said friendly to earlier told me he got shot. a minute later i see this guy run out of the store and another guy run out with a rifle come out and shoot him before running away from the zombies
then like two of the survivors made a mad dash for all the loot in the middle (like the basic starter stuff..) and the zombies slaughtered them. a few minutes after the zombies had died down, a shotgun went off and another player left the server. i checked the tab and there were only 5 of us left, and then somebody says they got the gunman and another guy leaves the server.
the guy who got the gunman said that he was swarmed by zombies and died, but that there were a few guns and some masks in a green house. i spent like 20 minutes combing the town for a green hose and then i eventually found one that had mossy walls, i ran in and saw 3 masks, a shotgun, an m16, and a few helmets so i started attacking the zombie that killed him. what i didnt realize was that there was another zombie, and i died right over their bodies making the loot pile even bigger.
the game is buggy, but it has potential

All you have to do is find a loot spawn. Log out and quick connect to another server. Loot everytime, 3 pistols and food so far.
Is there an actual release date for this? As in a final release, not the alpha and beta.
Oh god, been sneaking around town stalking and mauling people, got some good shit, and a 9MM, how do I check ammo in it?

Also some thoughts on the NDA thing, it's kind of pointless having a NDA for the current testing because we know everything about the game now anyway. They've released some gameplay videos that have shown off pretty much everything there is in the game so telling people not to record videos or take photos is kind of stupid imo. If it was a newly announced game I could understand a NDA for the alpha testing so they can give more information about the game to the press later on during development but there is nothing to hide in The War Z.

I keep getting onto servers with absolutely no loot and no moving zombies.
God damn it... can't play it.. everytime I want to join a server it says I need an update but there is no update. God damn it.
Alright so I figured out melee, you just gotta aim high and you can take out a zombie in like 4 hits with a bat.
Also, does the marketplace work already? And if I buy something from it, will I just get it for a single use and if my character dies with it it'll be lost? I'd like to buy a bigger backpack and there's a large one available on the marketplace for GC.
