Not sure if this has been posted already, but The War Z facebook page confirmed that there is going to be Permadeath. That is going to make killing little kiddy wallet warriors that much better. :v:
Yeah we kinda knew that since they announced it.
Rate me late good sir!
If the "Skill tree" feature will make the character gain more health and heal quicker. Find more resources in dumpsters, etc. I won't be happy.
Like most zombie game lovers out there we want extreme realism that is so hardcore it takes a long time to be good at the game. Not like you can just jump in and survive without problems.
But it's only perm death match if your on a verterian or something server?

You haven't really read a few of the sergeys answers before do you? he said the skill tree will improve things like skills, like having slight more stamina/running a bit quicker/being more efficient at medicine and so on.
So same skill tree or system as fallout?
So same skill tree or system as fallout?
Wait and we will see, it won't be lvl up to win or Pay 2 win that's already been said.
So same skill tree or system as fallout?
Well, not quite. From what has been said, advancing here in an eventual "gun skill" would mean that you might just handle a weapon a bit better, instead of magically increasing its damage.
As in reloading faster and having a less swaying aim.
Hey guys, a supposedly new image from the warz facebook page. i wonder when we'll get actual gameplay instead.

Will look great on my screen with a fuckton of anti-aliasing.
This sounds like a blast, I agree with the idea of the guards at safe settlements being player controlled. Maybe they'd sign up for the role and the person that set it up could decide who becomes one?
If they are player controlled, it would be a lot easier for bandits to move around town, since they can just sneak past them.

assuming most people are lazy and just stare in one direction, and that npcs will have the 360 degree vision radius.

Just saying that since guard duty can be quite boring, especially in a video game. You could sneak in by getting a friend or paying off someone to cause a diversion to get the guards' attention away from a point at which you could enter and change clothes or become part of a crowd. Then, assuming there's no flashing sign above your head saying something along the lines of "WANTED" or "THIS GUY IS A BANDIT," you could do your business as a normal player with no bounty with hardly any attention drawn to you, and you could make your way out of town as if you're just another guy about to head out for supplies.
NPC guards have been mentioned, haven't they?
Hopefully they won't have super insta-detecting-everything senses, though. Would make eventual raids much less interesting.

That's arguable. I'd like NPC guards that cannot see too much, but at the same time it would be completely useless to have guards that can be abused and killed easily. "Raids" in the only other similar game, DayZ, consist of walking up to some tents and taking shit. Probably 9 out of 10 people never fight the owner of the camp, they just find shit and it's theirs. NPC guards should change that, something I'm all for, but there should be balance. Not Stalker AI where the AI will begin shooting before they even round the corner and always know where you are even if you run through a labyrinth of buildings and rooms.
What might even be cool is if you could set up camp somewhere, similar to DayZ, but could recruit these NPC guards to do whatever you want (sit atop a hill, guard a door, patrol around, etc), and maybe even assign basic logic to them.
I hope they implement some kind of knowledge spreading system, like if you get caught doing something wrong by an NPC everybody else doesn't instantly know you're a criminal, just calculating the position of NPCs and some kind of "knowledge" priority that is passed from one to another would make it much more realistic.

It'll help if they implement some sort of depth of field, it doesn't look like they really have that right now and it makes a tremendous difference.
Agh, from the looks of that photo, it doesnt seem like many buildings are enterable. It would be so much better if you could search through towering skyscrapers, and all other buildings, with only small amounts of loot in them, unless you find a cache of some sort. Having a few enterable buildings with all the loot is so much less fun, and will create the same kind of cities that are in DayZ... Where snipers camp the high-loot buildings, and everyone gathers around the same buildings since they have all the loot... Having a sniper shooting from one of the windows, from any building, would be so cool, especially in comparison to the scenario where you know excactly where he could shoot from, since there are three buildings you can enter within your field of view.

Just because you said all that I imagine big piles of shit glowing golden and then some WoW style animation playing when you right click and a window with grey items popping up.
And even though the sniper thing would be fucking cool in theory, I can see it get incredibly annoying for some people. Maybe if there's a lot of cover and snipers don't just spawn everywhere, it could make it interesting. All we can do is trust the developers I guess... I really want to hope.

Here we go! Redneck power :v:
This game gets more and more exciting.
ST: Think of Battlefield 3 and think of War Inc. Battle Zone. I think those two examples best depict what the shooting and gun handling experience will be.It’s taking the reloading realism of War Inc., for example, where if you drop a half emptied clip and put in a new one, you effectively just lost all the bullets that were left inside the old magazine. Firing will have similar ballistic characteristics as you see in Battlefield—that is, if you shoot at longer distances, you’ll have to take distance and bullet drop into account.
goddamnit why cant it work like arma and not like that
Who the fuck drops a mag on the ground anyway
nobody does that, i hate that shit in video games
goddamnit why cant it work like arma and not like that
Not allowed to keep half empty magazines.
They should do it like RO2 where you get to keep your half emptied magazine, especially in a zombie apocalypse WHY are you dropping ammo like come on
melee weapons, crossbows, and attachments?
please let this game be amazing
goddamnit why cant it work like arma and not like that
You mean infinite bullets cause you can glitch that in DayZ ?
No thanks.
