I bought this today, and has not regretted it. I managed to find an AKM in a store, and I managed to team up with three friendly guys from the netherlands. One of them had a pistol, the rest had melee weapons. I managed to kill a guy that had a Saiga, so one of the other guys took that, and some idiot infiltrated our group, and tried to kill me from behind with a flashlight, even though he had a mossberg... I killed him, and now only one of our crew had melee weapons only. My other friend joined up, who had a Saiga, so now we were a crew of five, all but one with guns. Our demise came from an invisible zombie who killed us all though, but I had a jolly good time playing with them.

The post on facebook literally says this:

To me, that means that they meant 20,000 simultaneous connections.
I guess I don't really care that much, but it's silly if they're trying to make themselves look more popular than they are.
Or maybe they got the two numbers backwards? Who knows?

Again i dont own the game and this seems pretty crazy myself, there might be servers that only people in certian regions can access? I feel like im trying to defend them now :v:

got stuck in the wall in that building and i could see people but they couldn't see me (i couldnt move or fight either)
i just sat there calling out their movements and watching as they'd freak out and try to find me
I and three friends have now been playing together. It IS fun. Other players are just a nuisance now.
To support my statement, here's a story:
We all met up @ the tunnel. The 4 of us scavanged what was there, and started heading towards the bigger city.
We did not follow the highway, but walked in the woods along it.
Once we got closer to the city, and could see all the buildings there, one of our crew shouted:
[I]-"There's a few guys coming behind us, along the road!".[/I]
Since we were next to the road, we had bushes and large rocks as cover. We immediately hid behind them as low as we could, but one of us was spotted.
The one of us with a crossbow. He was only carrying one bolt to it, and was afraid to lose it, so we all let them get a little closer.
The group all looked at our direction, but seemed to still only focus on our crossbow guy, wich was just a few meters closer to the group closing in on us.
As they were about 50 meters away, we shouted:
[I]-"STOP"
-"WE will shoot!"[/I]
The small group all got out their flashlights and wooden clubs with spikes.
They started running towards our crossbow guy.
When they were about 10 meters away we all decided to pop up and blaze away with our GUNS.
There were only heard about a few pistol shots, and three loud bangs from our shotgun and the hostile group were all down.
They got looted and we left feeling like total movie badasses. We did warn them, and they drew weapons. Best experience yet.
It was glorious.

I had pretty severe crashing problems (every 5 - 15 mins), then I tried something on the forums which reduced them alot (once in the last hour) - try setting compatibility mode on both the launcher exe and game exe to windows vista SP2.
My game is surprisingly stable. Not a single crash in about 2+ hours probably.
From the amount of swearing I can judge that it is dayz made unplayable

I had half health and was in cover, about to pop up and spray him with an M4. Unless there's ballistics and you can shoot through shit now, no I wouldn't have died.
I guess the tunnel is a pretty occupied place. I sneaked my way over and stumbled across it. Some survivor died there, and a lot of loot was on the floor. Sadly, a few zombies were there as well. I was hit twice and lost them behind the bus at the back of the tunnel, logged out to get some bandages and drinks from my main inventory, added a spiked bat as well to take care of the zombies.
I logged back in in another server, and was immediately spawnkilled by some guy with a flashlight. :C
Yeah, I've noticed that people's bodies show up in the game world long before they even load in completely.
By the way hitting someone from the back towards their head is a instant kill, no matter what weapon you use. That's why people are dying so fast to flashlights.
It looks much better then DayZ(graphically) though
So I downloaded the alpha blah blah, I created a character and I walk forwards for a few meters and my game quits to the charater selection screen

It looks very washed out, and I'm not fond of the foliage. And generally there's a low polycount on many of the objects.

I second this, for the heli in particular.
Found two mossbergs, stored one.
Logged back in, found a guy with a hammer that had just killed someone.
Killed him, took his boonie, looted 3 hammers and some other shit.
Went up a hill, died trying to find my way down, because slipping causes falldamage.
I am mad.
After I making that last post, I got sniped. 10 antibiotics :c
