The way i sometimes like to play, is imagining everyone as an NPC in a singleplayer game with advanced A.I ( advanced A.I might be abit of a strong word with some players ). It helps the game when it comes to the aspect of marketplace, because you wouldn't exactly be able to complain if you saw NPC's running around with shotguns..
Sorry, probably a really weird way of looking at it, but it works for me.

Found a FN SCAR CQC at G04, on top of a car.
So I just found an M249 LMG in the middle of town near an APC and just went all out, I killed tons of zombies, survivors then logged out and stored it.
I'm on the mumble if anyone cares.

Day 1 :
Absolute shambles - people can't login or even download the client. I spent 4 hours with hotspot shield downloading the client in NZ because I was getting a CDN error (and still do when downloading patches). Got in, and it was just a bunch of nobs running around whacking people with flashlights.
Day 2 : I log in, mildly regretful because I feel I have wasted $45NZD. It is daytime, scenery looks really nice, and I find some water and food. I go for a jog around town and see people off in the distance. Hold on, that guy is following that other guy... he is sneaking up behind him. "Hey Guy,watch out". Oh too late, flashlight in the head. I go into rage mode and charge down the hill as this bandit is picking up loot. Thwack, flashlight to the head and then a few Jesse Pinkman's over global and I feel good. I head north and keep off the road, until eventually I find 3 other unarmed players running towards big city. We form a shifty alliance and group up, heading into big city. Immediately we hear gunfire and end up splitting up. One guy gets taken down by zombies and I watch from a distance. I make a run around the outskirts and venture in to find some food and water. Can still hear gunfire but it doesn't sound like it is firing at me, or near me. After some running, I make it up north to an old farmstead thing and find a shotgun. I announce to the server "Prepare to die". And then log out and stash it haha.
Day 3 : I've found my loot run circuit. I've got enough stashed by now that I'm cautious of losing my good weapons, but not fearful enough that I log out every 2 minutes and stash stuff. I'm really enjoying it. It is different to Day Z, not as large in scale (the map is a lot smaller. Not sure how much smaller, but it is significant. Probably just over half the size when it is all opened up?), so it feels quite crowded at the moment. Today, I am going to find that Heli Crash, and then go all vigilante on bandits in Big City.
You know what sucks? Not hearing other players running up behind you to fleshlight you in the back of the head.

If people want to pay for items, let them, a single shot to the head, or a lucky zombie can easily take them down. And they have to start over.

It's playable, and I'm actually in NZ. I still get smashed in the head at the same speed as everyone else :)
I was walking around a town with my hammer that was put away so flashlight noobs couldn't see that I had a better weapon than them and when I was walking in the street I saw 2 people following me from behind, with their flashlights on... they eventually caught up with me while I was searching buildings and they both tried killing me at the same time, so I pulled out my hammer I killed them both.
Then exiting that building another one comes up to me and tries to kill me, I get him too. All they had were like 3 bandages, 3 flashlights, and 1 skull mask... I don't understand flashlight bandits and their logic.

Run the launcher under compatability mode for Vista SP2 and run it as admin. Doing that reduced my crashes, I haven't crashed once while playing for about 3~ hours.

There is not a sniper in n/05. I have been there and been looting there since day 1. I have found 3 saigas, 3 pistols and a Uzi there. The police station in n/05 is good for masks and a pistol or 2.
