Where exactly have you heard bad things about it? There's some die hard DayZ fanboys who can't accept that their precious mod might go down the drain because of this and therefore spreading false information about this game, personally I already bought the Survivor Pack and I'll be buying DayZ once it comes out in its standalone version, I love zombie games, not just a specific zombie game.
It's worth the money, just remember it's in alpha right now so there will be bugs, but anyone who buys an alpha should know that, and you'll get regular updates as they develop further.

Me and 2 lady characters were walking towards the heli crash site at nighttime... a gunshot pops on the ground infront of me, i ran with my binocs up a hill and looked to see 1 guy not far behind with a flashlight, 2 at the back with guns.. I lost my 2 team mates of the hour but escaped unharmed...

i went arround the big building at night of course so it woul be easier to survive when i see 2 guys armed with ak 47 and they start shooting at the instant they saw me
lucky enough i ran eating pain killers like candy and got enough time to hide behind a car and disconnect

So far it's been more economical for me to just delete the character I had than make a new one, since none of my characters have been able to get anywhere. All at hands of players.

Can't use the guest keys till the 31st and I believe you put the person who bought the game's e-mail for the guest key during creation.

i hit the jackpot, two jerichos, one mossberg, one saiga, five bandages, two backpacks(medium),one backpack(small), anti biotics, binoculars, a hammer, water, soda, and pasta. Made it back to the safe zone to store it all to boot.

It's called the Stem Cell Zombie, and I don't think it is implemented yet. They just have sound effects for it at night.
So since the deep woods are relatively safe at night, (that is, unless you're being followed by another player) imagine when and if they add zombies into them. Oh god I'd cry.
How is it so bad?
I have no crashes or whatever. It's fluent, and there's no lag. Just an odd crash here and there.
Oh and the game hates my 6950 2GB crossfire setup during the day. Flickering textures.
At night everything is fine.

I'd celebrate. Then promptly shit myself when I see / hear a zombie.
I was running around and I randomly popped into Monkeypunch, a mysterious person who was talking to us but couldn't see us and a person who was probably going to attempt to kill us. We ran off down the road for awhile until we saw a flare, looked around and saw a guy sneaking past us. I asked him if he had seen my long lost daughter but he kept on running. Because he wouldn't give us information we decided to chase him until he did. All of a sudden he turned around and charged at me with his weapon, until Monkey loaded him with bullets.
After taunting him we decided that suicide was the only option and had a fight till the death, with monkey being the victor.
This game is fun.
Does anyone here have a spare guest key they could maybe give me? It's difficult to get a job (kind of impossible where I live + at my age), and I recently spent all of the money I had saved up from birthdays and Christmas on audio software and an electric piano. If you can, I'll love you forever and I'll write some music for you. Also, I will play with you come the end of the month.

its bad.
I like the gun sounds. So loud. I crap my pants when I fire my own shotgun. Zombies are a bit stupid sounding. Ambient sounds sometimes make you have a scare fit.

I bought WarZ to try it out and the first thing I heard was constant crickets screaming from all sides. The sound is worse then the Source engine.
