Everyone join besides Mio, he's a dick now. Mumble: 109.70.149.57 64739
I bought WarZ to try it out and the first thing I heard was constant crickets screaming from all sides. The sound is worse then the Source engine.
You must have bought bought the exclusive "Cricket Damnation Edition", featuring the "Cricket Symphony Of Suffering". It's essentially rhinocrunch torturing crickets with a soldering iron for 30 minutes.
Everyone join besides Mio, he's a dick now. Mumble: 109.70.149.57 64739
It was an accident, jackass
The sound is worse then the Source engine.
what the fuck?
Everyone join besides Mio, he's a dick now. Mumble: 109.70.149.57 64739
What did he do?
Check this thread out: www.forums.thewarz.com/showthread.php?40296-Zombies-(what-we-all-want-this-game-to-be-about)/ Vote on it, seriously. The zombies are unbelievably broken and we need more of them. They need to focus less on PvP and more on the zombies in my opinion.
It was an accident, jackass
Well you disconnected from mumble and continued to shoot us.
what the fuck?
In comparison to other games, its pretty poor. Take BF3 for example. Sound falloff plain does not work.. everything sounds like its close as fuck.

Player interaction is just flat out better. The zombies should be more of a backdrop than anything. EDIT: Seriously, zombie games are all the same, and there are hundreds. The real challenge, the real fun lies in the Player interaction.
Well you disconnected from mumble and continued to shoot us.
A Zombie killed me, someone picked up my stuff. Also there was no way for me to shoot you because my sniper rifle had no ammo
Why focus on the zombies? Player interaction is just flat out better. The zombies should be more of a backdrop than anything.
The game is advertised as a zombie survival MMO. There are no repercussions for firing a gun or being loud, and zombies are laughable at best currently. While player interaction is a huge part, there needs to be improved zombies to help boost player interaction.
How do I drop off stuff? I was in the safezone up north, the one thats surrounded by a wall and all the buildings inside are on stilts, from there I have no idea how to drop stuff off.
zombie survival MMO Obviously zombies should actually WORK, but they shouldn't be the main point in the game.
i disagree completely, i think they need to do 2 things in order to make zombies actually a threat 1. actually put zombies in the towns (why are there hordes of zombies just spawning outside on the outskirts rather than wandering around in it especially in the big city) 2. when i fire a sniper rifle in a huge empty city, it should be echoing throughout the entire city drawing zombies toward my location
Ran into some random dude, saw him crawling along the ground. I walked up to him and leveled my shotgun at his head. He stood up, and stared at me, ready for his inevitable fate. I don't think he was expecting what happened
zombie survival MMO Obviously zombies should actually WORK, but they shouldn't be the main point in the game.
This, is the mentality that ruined dayz for me, this is not a irunaroundwithgunandkilleveryone mmo it's a zombie survival mmo. If you'd like to propigate the idea of shoot everything first ask questions later please go back to dayz and give this game a fighting chance. For starters i'd really like to see the idea of teamwork encouraged through both the community and even random strangers, not just clans with mumble. I like the idea of survivors meeting each other randomly one saving the others ass and then finding more and more people until they have the numbers to hold fort. Rather then get killed for a chocolate bar and a flashlight.

PVP is a very small part of that
So earlier today I logged in and revived a character who spawned in that town right by the northern safehouse. I see some guy in Proximity asking for help, but I don't see anyone. I browse the supermarket and see someone else in Proximity type "time to die". Then I get killed by a guy with a shotgun who suddenly appeared behind me... At least he gave me a warning? Honestly, I should have bugged out the moment that first guy started begging for help.

PVP is a very small part of that
Keyword surviving, hence "The zombies should be more of a backdrop" when talking about a zombie mmo not only comes off as arrogant and pants on head retarded, But makes you sound like someone who if they get a large enough following with that kind of opinion will actually get the game changed to the point where it'd be ruined before it's even out. Don't get me wrong i'm in no way discouraging pvp, i just wish it wasn't filled with paranoia and less about killing the guy because you saw him and more about killing the guy because he poses a serious threat.

If the focus is going to be on the zombies, you might as well totally remove the survival aspect. And then it's just fucking Borderlands without the story, the visual appeal or the gameplay. You don't seem to be understanding me. I do want more of this:
For starters i'd really like to see the idea of teamwork encouraged through both the community and even random strangers, not just clans with mumble. is the FPS counter broken ingame? It says i get around 180 fps but according to fraps I only get around 11-20 fps
There was somebody in the city hacking with a machine gun, killed everybody within a radius of 1km.
is the FPS counter broken ingame? It says i get around 180 fps but according to fraps I only get around 11-20 fps
Probably a countermeasure to recording unwanted footage

Ether this entire argument has been based on you sounding like you had an opinion than you intended. Or you completely switched your position to make it sound less ridiculous, Because that is not in the slightest anywhere close to what you said. Edit: you have the wrong thread we're surviving the zombies not an idiot with a gun who wants to shoot you.

The zombies are a threat, and it sucks if you get caught by them, but you're not as scared of them as you are when you find another player. [editline]21st October 2012[/editline]
well if you make zombies an actual threat don't you then have a reason to team up with more people
I never said "zombies shouldn't be a threat". I'm saying they shouldn't be the focus. I'm saying they shouldn't abandon player interaction entirely like Rocket's been trying to do with DayZ.
Wanting an actual survival MMO instead of a co-op shoot-em-up is bad? If the focus is going to be on the zombies, you might as well totally remove the survival aspect. You make the zombies a backdrop to force player interaction instead of using them as an incentive to encourage unity and you've already lost. Ether way if you didn't want zombies to be the focus of a zombie survival game why did you buy it in the first place? Am i the only one who sees this logic as flawed?
As in "More of a backdrop" I meant like dayz does it, only better. The zombies are a threat, and it sucks if you get caught by them, but you're not as scared of them as you are when you find another player.
Funny story, I actually just encountered a player who tried to gun me down with a mossberg, I ran back for cover and he continued to chase me down while a zombie was running after him. I hid behind a rock and he climbed up onto the rock and the zombie caught up to him and started attacking him. I saw in third-person that he was looking at the zombie and he tried to shoot the thing but he had run out of slugs. So I jumped up at him and started swinging my bat and killed him and the zombie. I'm not going to get involved with the debate of PvE vs PvP. But I would like to see zombies attracted to more gunshot sounds.

And I bought it because of the SURVIVAL MMO aspect of the zombie SURVIVAL MMO
