Well, technically, mods have to be free because of some copyright issues or what-not, unless it was released by the game developer, but those are usually called DLCs.
For example: All mods created for Bethesda Games are free. The DLCs aren't.

DayZ is expenisve to use hack in too. If you get banned on DayZ, it's a BattlEye ban. Wich means your ArmA cd-key is fucked. Unless you are infact talking about a standalone alpha.

However, unlike most source mods, most gamers don't have a copy of ARMA II CO, so really, it will cost you $30 if you want to play DayZ.

Its a free mod though, its like people bitching to rocket about how they deserve a refund because of his alpha test development ideology of pushing stuff out fast for the people to test without thinking before they purchase. If you don't think you will enjoy the base game ArmA, you should not buy it just to play one buggy alpha, and if you do its your own fault. I for one enjoy ArmA as a series and love modding it.
So no, its completely free content.

Kinda stupid to have the guess passes on the 31st and the 1st, a Wednesday and Thursday and on Halloween. The best time to have it would be on the weekend where people can actually play and enjoy the game. I know that when I get it downloaded Wednesday Im going to be able to play for an hour or so max that day, not allowing me to get anywhere and have any fun.

Went to the top floor of the apartment building in Big City. Found a spot where someone died holding three mauser sniper rifles, two medium backpacks, medkit, etc. Woo. I panic'd for my life and hightailed it to the safe zone.

Also, 2 days without any updates. Probably going to do a large update when they open more of the map.
So I played today by myself. Went to K-Town, since I spawned close to it. It was night and I was hearing multiple gunshots, so I pretty much crawled my way into town.
Finally into town, I saw the light of a flashlight in the restaurant. I called out in hopes of a friendly (since I had nothing to lose), having just spawned. I entered, along with 2 other people. We proceeded to dance on the counters before handing out Skype names.
I ended up playing with two of them for about 8 hours today :v:
If you guys ever meet "evilninja___" (with the ____ being pretty much anything else. Sometimes kid, sometimes killer) that's one of the guys, and he tends to call out before firing. Dangerous, but that's how I met him. Call out to him, he might be able to help.
Woah, I just got killed by a hammer in 2 hits. It actually swung faster than I could shoot my shotgun, wat. Are they always like that or did I lag? Ain't even mad, just bemused.

He claims having unlimited ammo and other things are impossible because the actual ammo code or whatever is server-side. He says it'll show you have unlimited on the HUD but it won't be true.
Whether this is true or not I have no idea.

Having some sort of lag issue I think. I just started playing this game about 15 mins ago, and the first zombie I saw stopped animating, but still made sounds. I would hit it, and it would hit me but wouldnt have an animation and all of sudden I was dead.
Is this a common error at all, or does that sound like lag?

Some zombies get bugged and move in place. Its best to just run past those.
the netcode on this game is really good, even if you're in america and playing on EU servers you shouldn't see much if any lag.

Although I agree, the servers are only 30 people right now. Aren't they going up to 250 in the end? We'll see how that works out.

Here's why - our game set in a harsh world. Not the best place to live. Yet interesting place to SURVIVE. PVP is a natural part of this process. Yes it needs to be balanced, but it needs to be balanced using in game mechanics, not artificial restrictions. Ban Bandits from safe settlements, allow them only to use bandits "safe settlements".
