Found myself 3 assault Rifles and ammo, plus 2 medium back packs and a large backpack, tone of medical supplies. Then a bandit kills me :(
Heads up you can't use them until the 31st. But on the bright side of that, if I end up buying the game with some money I might be getting from VFX work I'll toss one your way.
Sounds good, thanks!
You could always join me and JerryK.
If we get PKed, we come back constantly to bug the hell out of PKers.
assuming we're not killing eachother of course
That's limited to Frosty.

3 teams of 3-4 survivors each going at it killing everyone on sight and random scroachers like myself picked up the pieces.
I got it all.
Did you get out alive?

Nice find. I had something similar happen to me earlier. Personally, I find it to be the best to ignore the shotguns, since shotguns are only effective at lodged-in-enemy's-ass-range. This gives you the ability to pick up gear that actually matters (food, medical supplies) or gear that's fun to dick around with on an alt (flares, glowsticks etc)
I've learned to stop giving a shit about ammo and guns.
If I find a weapon, chances are I'll use it on anything considered a threat (Frosty included).
It makes it easier to get killed by a PKer since now I won't worry about giving an arsenal over to a player who got a lucky shot.
Ricenchicken the silent protector of big city, just dont take his stuff

I used to do stuff like that in GTA IV!
I really want to play now.
Are they doing a massive wipe, sorry for asking just unsure?

I hope they do a massive wipe when the beta starts.
I disagree, there shouldn't be any "karma" system.
The main problem being that some players will get bandit status just for defending themselves and then will get punished for doing so.
Not to mention the players who kill others to survive.
You can't punish bandits, it destroys the point of having a free PvP world.
But the intention of the game was never free and open PvP. There are plenty of games where PvP is the main goal (any number of fps). Simultaneously, there are plenty of games where PvE is the main goal (borderlands for example).
A game like this cannot work as PvE alone, but neither can it stay as a long term game with such a major focus on PvP, not with permadeath, or at least, loss of items.
This kind of game will only work on a long term basis if people get into the role play of it all. I am hoping the situation will improve when private servers are available. Considering renting one myself or getting a group together to rent one. Not to eliminate PvP, but to ensure that both parties know that death could occur (warning the other person to back off, demanding them to drop their weapons etc, actual roleplaying so that PvP has a reason to occur, if the opponent runs, tries to fight back etc). In other words, both players are aware that they could die, but there is an opportunity to talk your way out etc.
I have an idea:
They just should make a mode which is like PvE but take the amount of zombies x10.

They are most likely going to increase the number of zombies once the game is released and the map opens up more. There is currently small hordes of 30-40 zombies on the map, but they don't move.
Has this happened to anyone else in the survivor menu?

Now my next question.
I have 3 RL friends I played dayz with and I could convince to buy this game as well.
Is it worth it?
Yes, very much so. Playing with friends is where the game shines the most. Just be sure to always have voicechat (if you're not playing together in real life) because you're gonna really need it.

Considering I only went out with the M16 and one set of binoculars I'd say that was a decent city run.
Full AKM mag, one medkit, large backpack and another mossberg.
So, you become a Bandit after how many Civilian kills? I think killing a hostile civilian shouldn't count towards becoming a Bandit. You shouldn't become a Bandit because you were attacked by a "Civilian" multiple times and had to defend yourself.
Also, Bandits should be marked with a tag over there head or something (Though that would take a bit of immersion out of the game.) They need to be identifiable somehow though.
Anyone know it they will wipe global inventory or not?
