Few more position updates, I know I'm missing a few still but I'm not 100% sure on their placements: http://reager.org/carto/
Went to a town and found a mexican hiding in a garage, he disconnected at the sight of me even though I had no weapons, though we did hear a gunshot too. Crawled over to a trailer only to hear growling, so I just proned at the door waiting for an opportune moment. Zombies were all around the place and I noticed a dead one on the ground near me, I assumed the gunshot earlier killed it. As I decided to leave, I crawled over him and he got up and chased me. As I ran, another joined the hunt and I sprinted for a good two minutes until the first gave up, the second zombie continued to chase. I span around and beat the bastard with a torch, almost dying, when I met a soldier-like survivor.
The soldier guy told me to walk ahead of him else he'll shoot, we searched buildings until I had a skull mask, a shotgun and an M4. After healing we crept into a store and heard gunfire, so we hid behind the counter. Incredibly quickly, a skull-faced flannel-shirted bandit hopped through the window and onto the counter, shooting me dead. Soldier Guy killed him, I think.
I'd say my first experience with War Z is pretty good, actually. I want to get a friend to get it so I can have a proper partner, though, this game seems funner with a friend.
The killing thing is really unavoidable. Dickheads kill niceguys, niceguys get paranoid and start killing everyone. You can only really trust someone if you play with a friend. I just wish there was a magic way to resolve this though, it should be about "who can you trust" instead of "everyone is out to kill you".
I'll give someone something in TF2 in return for a guest pass. I'd really like to try this before I buy it. Or I could be your manservant in game :v:
In appartment building.
Pitch black at night.
Find shotgun, fuck yes.
Look out window for half a second.
Instantly shot and die.
[editline]4th November 2012[/editline]
Spawn, outside city, not so bad.
Killed by invisible survivor with a 200mph hit rate with a hammer.
Hacking much?
Should I buy this.

Yeah there's a new hack kicking around and every 13 year old is using it, he likely teleported under you and hammered your feet to death then noclipped onto the next player.
Just report the server number, region and time to warren or another mod/dev.
Trust people who try to avoid you. Don't trust people who try to get closer to you.
Even a megabandit agreed with me when I said this.

Its common sense, if someone is running away from you they have no intention of killing you unless they want to flank you, but if someone comes at you then they are either stupid or after the kill.
rip in pieces brave soul

Is this better than Dayz I've never played either. can someone make a quick comparison.

Neither is better than the other, they both play differently.

I've yet to die right after spawning in, I've seen a friend spawn inside someone else though and get a shotgun blast up the ass because of it.

Wow.. well I found a group of three guys holding three M107s. Two with 5 shots and the other with 2 :D

Yes it is. The game is ridden with cheaters right now, I'm constantly dying to people who can see/run/shoot through walls, and if they dont have that enabled I can often see people sitting aiming at me when they shouldn't know I'm there since I'm using the third person camera.
On top of that any town worth going to for loot is filled with people camping with all manners of guns, and surrounded by snipers. Not to mention everyone has been duping ammo/weapons/backpacks.
I know this is alpha/beta/etcetcetc but I had hope for this game when I saw they were patching it plenty, but that hope has severely diminished after I realised Sergei only spews out bullshit in his dev diary posts (For example his post where he listed all manners of hacks that they had 'made impossible' then right after Alpha comes out people are creating those very hacks), and the engine just doesn't feel or look very good.
anyone else got a guest pass so i can test out this game ? :P
Is this better than Dayz I've never played either. can someone make a quick comparison.
I personally don't think it's better than DayZ in it's current state. There's a lot of stuff one mod/game has handled better than the other, like I still prefer the Arma engine it feels a lot more weighty and realistic, though first person animations can make you a bit seasick. I think DayZ is better looking and more polished visually aswell. I prefer how the towns are built up, WarZ looks a bit hastily put together (because it was, dumb me if you want). Loot spawns don't make sense, like guns in the post office, just feels like they stuck loot wherever they could, probably something they'll change in future though. DayZ is better organised in this way, you can expect certain types of loot in certain builds, like a hatchet or crossbow in a barn or car parts in a factory. WarZ has more of an arcade feel to it, like a quickfix, but that's not to say it's any easier, it's also early days so a lot of features and polish can probably be expected.
However currently I'm playing WarZ, not DayZ, that's because DayZ is a wobbly mod for a wobbly game. It can be a pain to get into a game and ingame UIs for stuff like backpacks are really arkward. Though saying all this it's unfair to compare the games as WarZ despite nicking the concept from DayZ is very much it's own game. DayZ's really stripped down and unforgiving, while WarZ has features like safe towns, currency and global invents which adds some continuity rather than starting with a clean slate every spawn.
Me and Waffle just participated in a Flashlight duel which was about life and death. We could win some insane shit right there, shitton of loot.
Guess what lads, I won and smashed Waffle's fucking head. Here's my glorious loot I won :v:
The large backpack was part of the prize.

I'm feeling glorious.
[editline]Edit:[/editline]
That would be four hours of loot.

No.

Three tips for newbies:
1) Don't get social unless you're well-hidden.
2) Melee the zombies in the chest then work your way to the head. One at a time.
3) Shoot first.
Played this for a bit. I have some gripes with it:
Animation look bad and feel clunky, textures are bad on some things
Collisions are stupid with varying height of terrain. For example, I was on a building. For some reason, half of it was a few millimeters lower than the other part, and I had to jump to get onto the higher part.
The running is very slow (I feel this probably because of the amount of Day Z I've played).
Also, the zombies are weird. Either they chase you forever and kill you because you run out of stamina, or you outrun them and they just give up.
The game has potential, but at it's current state I don't know how much I will enjoy it. Also, what are some good loot spots? Like in Day Z there's NW airfield, what's the equivalent of that?

There's an airfield and a helicopter crash site with high tiered loot. One thing I like about War Z is that it's a lot more accessible than Day Z, but it is a little clunky.

Decent loot spots: http://reager.org/carto/#3/26.90/104.85 http://reager.org/carto/#3/27.84/111.88 http://reager.org/carto/#3/75.50/105.03 http://reager.org/carto/#3/-54.27/-52.12 http://reager.org/carto/#3/-58.54/-87.80 http://reager.org/carto/#3/-61.69/-93.96 http://reager.org/carto/#3/-5.27/0.79 http://reager.org/carto/#3/0.88/2.72
Also remember this is just an alpha, the animations will likely be changed again and the zombie code has been changed a lot recently.

I agree, it's a lot easier to get into as someone new. This is just me being picky, but the way you crawl. It looks like you are using the tips of your fingers to dig into the dirt. Also, if you aim down while crawling without a weapon you continue the animation.

Thanks for the spots. And yeah, I know. I'm just saying what I have issues right now. Hopefully this will be what I wanted Day Z to be.
Is the helicopter at loco mountain campsite suppose to have flares just sitting on either end of it? I go to multiple servers and I always see flares just sitting there.
