See 60+ new posts Think the beta has started Nothing but people acting like five year olds.
I keep checking the forums waiting to see a "War Z bet-" as a thread title, followed by me pissing myself.
A poster on the forum was showing some pictures to show off the engine. I don't think WarZ will go that far, but still. How does a city get that fucked up in a zombie apocalypse
How does a city get that fucked up in a zombie apocalypse
Hell man, we have buildings around here like that, you'd be suprised what happens when people stop taking care of everything.

I don't think that's WarZ. More of a test of the game engine. Also, looks kinda European with those buildings. So, I don't think it'd fit Colorado. EDIT: Taking a second look, the engine so far doesn't look that great. Not saying I worry about WarZ. But, it doesn't really show anything special. Too many perfectly straight edges.
going through the desolate, dirty, rusty, dusty, burned ruins of mankind, carrying a shiny hitech rifle equipped with rails, rails, an eotech, forward grip and some more rails? rapes, kills and cremates some of the low-tech survival feeling for me. although if full auto guns are rare, i'll be happy
Seeing as how there are multiple screenshots that show living, breathing hazmat crews picking up fresh corpses in body bags I think you have an entirely skewed idea of the game's world. An extremely large percentage of AR-15 owners buy specialized optics, they're extremely common and in no way out of place in this context. There's noting particularly hitech about any of it.

But again, the massive lack of anti-aliasing is disturbing.
One of the biggest flaws of the engine is that you can't look down in first person.
One of the biggest flaws of the engine is that you can't look down in first person.
what
Now you laugh, but one day a buddy of yours in War Z will be trapped on a lower level with an angry horde after him and you won't be able to do anything about it. [editline]12th August 2012[/editline] Unless you're in third person mode.
you need to know the difference between fucking game and engine the engine doesnt changes how you look down in first person
Yes it can. Many of the things shown so far have been directly lifted from War Inc. I know it's a different team but I doubt the gameplay's gonna differ that much.
And if they changed the engine in some way to allow this?
It would be a miracle. Instant pre-order. [editline]12th August 2012[/editline] But they keep reusing War Inc. assets, which makes me worry that they won't make that much of a difference when altering the engine either.
I keep seeing more screenshots for this game, and my indiscriminate boner only hungers for more.
It would be a miracle. Instant pre-order. [editline]12th August 2012[/editline] But they keep reusing War Inc. assets, which makes me worry that they won't make that much of a difference when altering the engine either.
I really can't see them shipping a " game " where you can't look down in first person. I really can't. Will ask confirmation on the forums, you get me worried a bit though.
I really can't see them shipping a " game " where you can't look down in first person. I really can't.
Especially a game about survival that I imagine will require you to look down to pick things up and whatnot.
Yes it can. Many of the things shown so far have been directly lifted from War Inc. I'm sorry man, it's painfully obvious you have no idea what you're talking about.
It would be a miracle. Instant pre-order. [editline]12th August 2012[/editline] But they keep reusing War Inc. assets, which makes me worry that they won't make that much of a difference when altering the engine either.
So what if they're reusing assets? Do you realise how common that is in the gaming industry? In the animation industry? It saves time and resources. Don't fix what ain't broke; if you've got a decent model then why waste time recreating it when you can just reuse it. You ever seen Half Life 2 and Dota 2? Guess what, in Dota 2 you can't look in any direction whereas in Half Life 2 you can. It's not even first person, yet they have the same engine. Please stop babbling on about crap you know nothing about.
One of the biggest flaws of the engine is that you can't look down in first person.
haha. nice one!
I have to admit, I was really suspicious of this game at first. Even suspected it was a scam for a bit. Not serious enough to talk about it but I thought it. Then I was convinced it was real, and then I suspected it would suck. now, I'm seriously getting excited. The only thing that is a possible dealbreaker for me is the lack of proximity voicechat. It's completely absolutely essential for a game like this. having to type to communicate is.. ridiculous.
The assets they're reusing aren't very good though. :v: The animations in particular are stiff.
haha. nice one!
Thanks!

I reckon there'll be enough people asking about it for them to actually put it in.
The assets they're reusing aren't very good though. :v: The animations in particular are stiff.
How do you know that they are reusing animations?
How do you know that they are reusing animations?
The only thing I can really see them reusing as it's not a big deal for them, is probably just weapon animations if they're reusing some things.
The assets they're reusing aren't very good though. :v: The animations in particular are stiff.
Holy shit you're dense. That, or your computer works on Harry Potter magic and all the screenshots are suddenly animated and come to life.
Holy shit you're dense. That, or your computer works on Harry Potter magic and all the screenshots are suddenly animated and come to life.
No, I've played War Inc., the game whose assets War Z borrows heavily from.
