It bothers me how the community is slowly turning bad.
A couple days ago I was talking to a guy in game and he invited me to his clan.
We both died and he was worried that I set him up and that he was so mad, because he lost his juicebox. And now with all this trading stuff I'm scared the game is going to end up like TF2 instead of a survival RPG.

It shows how humans might work in the wake of an post apocalypse as savaging turns into business and markets are set up while loners become groups of trust worthy people and tribes become apparent. Then we'll see conflict between tribes as the zombies become more of a annoyance than a threat.
That is of course if you do not add more types of zombies, making them an actual threat among communities of players.

I agree, the community is at times really unfriendly. When I talk german, people call me a nazi. When I talk french, I am a faggot. When I talk english I get flamed for no reason.
Although there are some really friendly people out there, had great random encounters.
Those friendly people encounters are a rare occurrence... Something you should treasure when you find yourself in that situation!
I always help people out, especially if they just spawned.

I have a question, are all the drops totally random or are there places that have a higher rate to drop certain items. For instance, a military base has a higher chance of having guns.

As far as we know, it's pretty randomized. There's most likely a loot table, but we don't know what it is.
On some servers people stated that military base have more guns, it is also mentioned in the wiki. Although I highly doubt that this is true.

Military bases have set spawns for certain items, eg. the m107 only spawns in military tents in campos but due to it's rarity value its spawn rate is very low.
Most pistols and assault rifles though will spawn inside random cars/police cars and in stores, I've found multiple jerichos inside stores over my time playing.
Also echo's compound tends to spawn the odd military assault rifles at times and saigas, camp splinter you'd be lucky to find anything other than hats but it does have a spawn dedicated to MTV armour and a few sniper rifles but like said, you'd be lucky to walk across them due to their spawn rate being so low.

I have a loot table that I got as an XML file when I extracted the War Z files from the bin files, I could try and make sense of it.

There's two spawns in the suburbs grocery store near campos that only spawn mossbergs as far as I know
Every time I've seen loot in that spot it's been a mossberg, and if I spawn in the city and I want a quick gun I can just run up there and grab one.
haha I have so much luck in this game. Some guy must have died out in the thick of woods. Found a saigon, ak75 or something, m4-semi with 3 mags. Large backpack and lots of bandages and food.

i was all happy and optimistic because i had a few player encounters where i didn't get killed, i even saved a guy by beating the zombie chasing him to death and he thanked me for it, but it all goes away when i realize had those players been armed i would have been shot dead

Just throwing this out here. Stop complaining. You guys whining about people being assholes sound like sad kids. It's just words. If you haven't realised quite a lot of people in this world are shit and quite a lot think trolling is funny (it sometimes is). I love this game and half the time I play I don't even glance at the chat.
Find at least 1 friend and skype with them while you play.

I like to chat with people while I am running around, the long traveling distances are at times tiresome and some conversations are surely cool. Besides I met some cool guys in WarZ. But it is just annoying when you write "hey" and your first response is "Fuck you asshole".
Communication is a important part of this game, I do not mind some nonsense but it can be annoying as hell. Yesterday there was a troll constantly bitching about how the game is so bad.
