We basically get a server that is a map based around a "stronghold" such as a office building, fenced-in area, etc. We are then allowed to fortify it, store our items there and do other things (I think growing food was one). All in the comfort of our own server.

Around the strongholds there are loot spawns, iirc. so you might find something.

Same thing happened. I went to afk and proned behind some rocks in the middle of nowhere. When i came back about 5min later i was dead
Way too many "high-tech" guns in this game IMO. More hunting rifles, small arms, gardening tools etc. please. I cant help but feel that this game is gonna turn into Call of Duty Zombie Edition at some point.
Well....I joined a game, spawned in a safehouse, ran up to some guy and was about to ask if he had a spare flashlight.
He dropped 5 M4s, 2 Fivesevens and 2 custom guerillas, erm thank you?
killed a guy with 3 military backpacks, AWM, 7 mags for the AWM,a IMI tavor and many other items including attachments.

The server I was on just went down (we had 30 second warning in global chat). Me and my friend had previously met someone who just spawned, and we allowed him to join our group but we were suspicious as fuck. As the 30 second warning came up, we all sorta looked at each other then he went mental on us with a flashlight and we killed him. Then we got kicked. Kinda funny ending considering we walked for about 30 minutes :v

So I was being extremely cautious in the tunnel, moving through whilst in prone looking everywhere as it was fucking pitch black when I heard the player noise. I looked behind and saw nothing then looked forward just as a guy raised a gun at me from behind a box, I sprinted like a bitch behind the bus and didn't have enough time to inventory so I just started popping zombies with my M4. That's when an idea hit me, he must assume I'm occupied with zombies so I shot two then just walked towards him and fired randomly, once or twice to simulate zombie-handling.
He was quite shocked when I vaulted the box and shot the shit out of him :) then the bastard who shot at me without even saying anything had the nerve to call me a noob after I killed him, made me smile

They have talked about adding in more civilian weaponry, like double-barreled shotguns and older bolt rifles, I think they're going to add them in around beta or in beta though.

There already is a double barrel shotgun but it's just piss rare.
Yeah I've been collecting shells for the double barrel shotgun but I haven't actually seen it yet. Really dicks me that I can't use the shells in any of the other weapons that use the exact same ammunition.
Why can't we just collect like 4 of the double barrel shotgun ammo thingys and put them together and use them for a Mossberg?

I don't see why you can't just put them into the mossberg right now as a 2 round mag instead of 8.
Then again it'll be like the c-mag all over again.
been saying that for most rounds, being able to dissemble a magazine/clip and use the ammo for certain guns.
I hope they change the spawn rate of guns after the wipe, probably should match the ammo spawn rate. Too many guns. I find more guns now than melee weapons.

Making guns something very rare should be a good thing since there would be so much less skillless twats shooting you while you're beating a zombie with your hammer.

Just got my first bandit. I heard him speaking in local saying he wants to kill me. I was in the superstore outside campos. I hid in the corner and jumped up behind him and mauled him in less than a second with a hammer :D

I love shooting unarmed people, especially if they ask if I am friendly. I run after them with my mossberg or shoot them in the back while my friends distract them.
Once I even had a similiar situation to Inglorious Basterds where Shoshanna runs away from Lander, the difference though is that I shot with my pistol and killed the poor lad.
