Same reason we don't care to hear about it in the forum.
I just got done reading some of the WarZ forum posts...
I'm completely disgusted at the way the community is turning out..people are seriously bitching and moaning about a freaking Alpha and the fact the game patch was delayed be like one week. Our the lives of these people so pathetic that they can't find something to do for a week? They had to lock a patch thread because people started raging and flaming each other. People were bitching about certain gameplay aspects not in the game, like cars - someone was seriously bitching because "End game" content was not in the game yet. What the hell is wrong with these people, does no one honestly know what we're playing and testing?
As for regular refunds, what the fuck people, you pre-ordered the game. Your playing the alpha for free. You're not entitled to shit, get over it. As for the banning, I don't know much about them or why they're happening and who they're happening too so I'm not going to comment on that aspect.
Bought this. Don't care what anyone says it is a watered down DayZ at the moment.
Don't get me wrong it is fun.
But it has some annoying ass issues. Had it a day been spawn killed three times. No matter how sneaky you are you get killed. I don't know if this is to do with the apparent hacking.
But either they need to do some sort of "Balance" on player killing player or make the map a whole lot bigger. Because at the moment it is far to small for 20+ players.
With six people on a server you will cross paths that is if you manage to cross paths without one another killing each other.
But yeah the death matching takes away from the zombie apocalypse. But also the zombies do need improving. They aren't as frequent as they should be. Nothing more than props at the moment.
But the game has potential if the push the player enemy back and the zombie forward.
Mainly because I've only been killed by players. Zombies are harmless.

Colorado will get bigger in 11/27 patch, we have less than 50% of it right now and the patch will fully unlock it.
Not to mention the announced map based on California which will be 4x bigger than Colorado.
Any spare guest passes? Kinda wanna try before I buy.
For those whining about people getting refunds, wait until you get banned and told you wre exploiting in an alpha and the devs say to you "it's an alpha you haven't even played the real game yet", ignoring all support requests and giving canned responses on the forums. Check my screenshot a few pages back.
Yes, I have played the real game or they wouldn't have banned me if they were testing. Also I payed29.95, and will never receive server hosting. So yeah I got a refund on a permanent banned account

Don't worry about it, for some reason there's no middleground in this game you either hate it or you love it and defend it to the death like a blind fanboy.

No, there is a middle ground. People are just quick to cry fanboy because that poster/player understand what alpha/beta testing is about and what to expect.
Its pretty sad to me because I've actually participated in proper testings for alpha/betas, big name mmos at the time. I rarely talk about it because it is boring, who the fuck wants to know about bugs that don't exist anymore and gameplay that was altered. I've tested a game along with thousands of other people, submitted logs daily, help mold gameplay in to a more balanced final product. Funny thing is, not a single person in my beta test batch (Real testing is done in batches so there are fresh eyes playing the game finding bugs I or others have missed) had bitched or moaned about the game. No one cried, we simply posted our observations and what we saw as broken and unbalanced. Devs took that data and applied it accordingly and we had a good end result due to it...
People can't seem to grasp that the game is being tested and like little children are demanding everything right then and now. Beta testing used to be about volunteering your time to help improve a game and help devs you liked. People would test in an effort to see the game they like improve and become better so it can succeed. People came in with some type of misconception and because of their ignorance they can't seem to get over the fact they where wrong.
Yes the game has issues, it needs content, but right now they can't add content to the game without fixing game breaking bugs. If they don't fix what is a problem and create a solid foundation to build on everything they add later on will be broken in some shape or form.
I highly suggest to all the people who have zero patience and can't handle that a game that is being worked on is going to have road bumps, delays and other issues that come with testing to just stop playing and wait till release. All these people are doing is ruining the game for themselves in that case and deterring people who want to get the game because of ignorant assumptions.
I mean how hard is it for people to understand this, it is ridiculous really.
came into the tread
expected a talk about the game
got pure shit and people about HURR REFUND ME instead
im now confused

That's all well and good, but here is the issue. They aren't treating this like an alpha/beta or any kind of test. They are banning exploiters - you know, people who have found exploits like they are meant to. There was a debate over even whether to wipe inventories, as if it shouldn't have been done.
I can't access my forum account anymore so I can't show you PM's where they said I was banned for exploiting (not hacking, although I maintain my innocence on both, since I have no idea what exploit I was banned for), and to contact support. I did, and no response for a long time now. However, support was quick to update my perma banned account status from "no reason given" to "got a refund", whenever I try to login via the launcher.
When I started a thread on the forum asking about why I was banned and explaining I got a refund, I got a perma ban from the forums as well with the text "stop trolling you got a refund on a game you haven't even played because it is an alpha test".
So my question still remains - if it is an alpha TEST, as the devs still claim, why are they banning people (for hacking, exploiting or whatever else) from receiving their pre order, if this is not the actual game? I think it is because they aren't going much further. One more major update, you won't get much after this next one. Probably stronghold servers, but I doubt half of the other stuff will be fulfilled.
I think it is a good idea to get a refund, ESPECIALLY if you paid $29 or $49, and if you still want to play, buy it again for $15 with a different paypal account and email.
I'm not buying it again since I discovered the free servers, which, surprisingly, while full of hackers, there are a lot of friendly players.
I had patience. I didn't get a refund until I got perma banned with no explanation. The devs say "hurrr, no false positives" and I have asked for evidence which they won't supply, so how am I meant to petition it? Article 2g of their TOS allows them to ban for anything, under a strict reading of the article.
I mean how hard is it for people to understand this, it is ridiculous really
It's not just the community who can't understand this. The devs don't understand the purpose of their own alpha.
All these fucking fatalists in here, holy hell.
I refunded this a week after it came out, having sunk a good 40 hours into it; it seems all the negative predictions are coming true.
Please rate me dumb because you disagree.
Like I said earlier, I'm waiting to see if the devs really are as incompetent as some of you (mainly lukasaurus) are saying. Besides some posts about poor communication/false bans, I haven't seen anything to indicate that they're running the game into the ground yet.
I still don't see why a bunch of people panicked and got their refunds immediately, though. Even if the game does die a few months into the future, do you really feel like you won't get your money's worth with the game? (Also getting a refund for the sole purpose of downgrading to a cheaper copy is a dick move and isn't going to help the devs/game at all)
To be honest i loved alot of this game but after a while it got really boring. Contemplating a refund to be honest, though i might just wait for vehicles to see if it improves at all.

Could you copy + paste the main details? The system won't let me access the alpha forum since I have an apostrophe in my username...
I can guarantee that the majority of people in this thread moaning about people getting refunds have, at some point in their lives, torrented music/games/movies etc.
Hey all!
Things have been pretty intense recently, and with that in mind I wanted to update you with whats going on. We've got some pretty important code fixes (and content updates) coming in the next patch. Part of major code updates, however, is stability and performance - with the upcoming US holiday weekend, we want to be sure the build is stable.
To that end, while art and design put the finishing touches on the remainder of Colorado, we're thoroughly testing the game using external AND internal resources before releasing another patch.
Keep an eye on the forums and we'll keep you informed.
Oh, and if you have any constructive questions please ask away. I'll do my best to answer them all.
(this would include any questions that may have been stickied previously, I don't mind rehashing some old info )

#2 Skills will come after clans and play with friends, no ETA at this point
#3 The patch will go live once we’ve confirmed stability and functionality on the update itself
#4 This is an interesting idea something we’ve discussed. Additional features beyond the current list however won’t be until next year. We’re currently wrapping up barricades however.
#5 As of my last conversation with Sergey the wipe has not changed. You’ll also see item weights come online after the wipe.
#6 Remember that due to the Earth’s rotation the sun itself is not moving, but rather we are. The earth rotates once in approximately 24 hours from the point of view of the sun, moving at about a thousand MPH (measured from a point on the earth).
#7 As cheaters cheat and hackers hack our systems are constantly refined. And yes, you’ll see the rest of the map released with the next patch.
#8 Basic content you can expect in the next patch: Clans, new female characters, bug fixes including item duping and HTML chat hacking, and the rest of the map
#9 I encourage you to re-open lost suggestion threads. In the meantime, I appreciate feedback on the HUD so please PM me the link when its up!
#10 Its in the mail! Along with a hot pink unicorn! Seriously though that would be pretty cool. I’d totally rock one.
#12 We’ve taken measures. This won’t happen again – it was the mistake of a single person, which has been rectified
#13 I think you’re really going to dig the new sections of the map. Some really fun interiors, and unique locales. The team really kicked it up a notch for this one!
#15 Yes, wipe on 11/30. That’s an interesting idea, and while probably not feasible, we are discussing some fun events between the devs, major clans, and the community.
#17 There was an issue with one of the moderators over the weekend and today, which has shown we were correct in removing him from his role.
#18 Yes, beta codes will remain active
#19 I’ll do another teaser post in a while, as theres a lot planned and I don’t want to blow up this thread too much
Page 2
#29 Zombies spawn in set area’s, and we’re experiencing with different logic there (more forest spawns etc)
#33 The discussion back and forth on both sides of the fence, whether to have a separate character list/GI or not for private servers was a very heated one. At this stage we don’t believe its necessary – once server rental is live and we’ve had a chance to see it in action and gather data we can reassess. This would also involve code and UI changes we’re not ready to add to the list until we’ve completed other core features
#34 Yes, the weather system is getting consideration. You’ll probably see this in the first quarter of next year or thereabouts, once we’ve had a chance to spend some time with it. If we’re going to do it, we want to do it well – and yes, I agree, that’d make for some intense atmosphere
#35 Collision exploits are part of our polish phase, and will be ongoing. We’ve fixed a number of them already
#39 The .22 caliber weapons are in progress. Ammo should be interchangeable (assuming code allows at this point, I’ll confirm later). Boulder city will be filled out. We’ve got a good external test team we just started working with. Payment models for servers will come online when they do, but that’s heavily dependent on code. Development will be ongoing for the life of the product and we have a lot of really cool melee weapons we’d like to see brought to life. Admins are TBD for server rental. WHEW! That was a lot.
Page 3
#45 Yes, some of these are already done, such as eating and punching, using syringes etc, and should be in soon
#46 I’ll see about adding autorun, sounds like a good idea to me, at least for a toggle-able option
#47 Yes I actually have a very large hand in this personally, and we’re growing several key characters story lines. These, when properly pieced together, will start painting the picture of what happened. Staged events (instances) will not be a part of our scope at this time, however.
#48 Swimming will be addressed next year. At the moment we’ll have some shallower water players can walk through to access other areas. See above for weather. This is not part of our current optimization pass that I’m aware of. Holding flares/chem lights I’ll mention to the guys, same for ‘remember me’.
#54 Strongholds and private servers are slated for December. Map marking functionality has not been discussed yet.
#57 Yes, you’ll be able to decide 10-30 slots for strongholds, and up to 70 for worldmap rentals
#58 Ladders are something a number of us are pushing for, we’ll see
#59 I haven’t heard about this bug before, please report it to support.thewarz.com if you haven’t already
#60 Optimization is constant. We’re pushing for higher and higher FPS all the time.
Aggregate answers, pages 4-6
We’ll get the patch as soon as we can with regards to stability
Cosmetic items will be coming but our primary focus, with regards to art, is finishing up what we’ve already put out. More interiors, polished textures, etc
Nothings really ever ‘out of the picture’ when it comes to our style of development. We’ll be updating and releasing new content constantly.
In terms of question #6 I just interpreted that as a silly question – its been answered though. The rest of the map will open up soon, and there’ll be a number of fun encampments soon to explore and discover
December means that we plan to have servers available ASAP in December
We’re working out the design behind missions. What works, what doesn’t, etc.
Melee slots (or the ability to equip whatever items you like in either slot) won’t be on the table until next year
I like the idea of locking dead slots, but not to worry, we have a system incoming that will prevent mindless character creation. Its only this way because of Alpha.
At this point servers will be passworded only. Whitelist is not a part of our plan ATM
Ghosting and server hopping require a delicate approach. We’ll have a solution soon.
At this point Hardcore mode means when you die, its permanent. Control over features such as crosshairs, TPS, etc will be dependent on who’s renting the server.
I’d like to hear what this grass issue is that folks are talking about, same as ‘too quick’ hunger rates
#89 That dress doesn’t make you look fat, I think you have wonderfully big bones
Once you activate server rental time its used – GC used during Alpha is reset after the wipe
#105 can you please PM me more details on this bug? I’ll look into it.
#106 these allegations have already been refuted. So long as we’re able to keep the doors open we’ll be working and supporting this game. Its our baby, and allegations towards us not caring are ridiculous. Also, there’s no reality where any moderator would be privy to the inner workings of our studio.
The craft system is coming. It takes a considerable amount of design, however, to be sure it functions properly.
Also, we really want decapitation we’re hoping to have it soonish, but there’s other work to be done first
Personally my only concern is if so many people start getting refunds who says this isn't going to become a sinking ship regardless? If I made a game and had a 100,000 people buy it, then a month in 20,000 refunds are declared I can see it being pretty deterring to the developer(s).
Obviously these aren't real figures, i'm just pointing it out. If people want refunds, take refunds, I could care less if it hurts the company or not, but if it hurts the development and effects the other players problems arise.

Sounds like a ton of people are getting refunds because of all the rumors that sprung up are frightening them.
If they want to give up so quickly due to fear and over $15, let them.
And if you argue that $15 is a lot to you, then you shouldn't have spent it in the first place on this game.

Assuming everyone spent only $15.
If you don't like it, leave it. Plain and simple.
As much as the devs need the money to make the game better, and as much as these rumors are scary to think about, in the end it's up to you.
The point is, stop with the arguing about it because the people who want refunds will get them either way.

Sure, and they'll have their own fun with it. I'm willing to give the game a chance. I don't think it's the worst game I've ever played by far and it surely will have more features added to it, but the amount of defense it gets by the players is silly.

Well, it IS a very very incomplete alpha, and I think that many of the people who are getting refunds really should have waited a long while before buying instead of jumping at the first chance they got to try the game and getting burned out by it before it was even able to stand on it's own as a fully fledged game.
So my buddy came around and I watched him play a little; allow me to break it down.
Leaves the safe zone - gets killed.
Starts a new character - gets killed.
Switches server, obvious hacker kills him,
Switches server, game crashes.
Switches server, gets killed.
The nature of the game is all about survival but with the game in it's current state, the fact that weapon drops seem so bullshit and heavily armed players/hackers are camping player spawns, how on Earth can the WarZ have a happy player base? It feels as though it promotes dickwaddery and elitism and discourages any sort of real teamplay outside of backstabbing new players and killing them for fun.
The game was more fun to play back when it was released for testing and you only had to deal with flashlight DM'ing.
Customer support is nigh on non-existent, the only people that seem to communicate are the payment handlers at Xsolla whom are very polite and upon contacting them for a refund, the woman on the other end expressed that this was easily the 100th person she had dealt with today asking for a refund and that she was expecting many more before her shift was over.
The folks over at the forums are very assholish, the dev's don't want to answer questions and when presented with documented evidence to spite their own claims simply ban the posters, how is that any way to deal with your paying customers and fanbase? That's absolutely appalling.
I feel that the WarZ is a terrible game, poor design, poor engine, poor handling, terrible customer service and it's shaping up to be the biggest titanic of this years gaming.

Calling an Alpha incomplete is foolish.
It's not even supposed to be near complete. They still got Beta to get to, and after that, final.
The people who bought this and got refunds really need to learn the difference between the stages of game.
For an Alpha, it's done what it needs to.
They shown a game's play, world, interaction and many other bits to make it stand on it's own. They had issues along the way, but what the released as an Alpha was pretty good for what they had.
The only thing I hate about WarZ right now is that it's focused too much on PvP combat than PvE. i was hoping for a world with zombies lurking every where trying to snag a bit off people, but instead we got some moving target practice.

They're not really following the stages idea of normal development though, they're going to be doing some "Foundation Release" stage they made up where it's kind of like a beta but still featureless. They skipped the original beta date, and apparently weren't even close to a beta stage even though they should have been when saying it would come out a certain date that they weren't working towards.
