Are we both playing the same game? What low populated server? Even if you managed to get into a server with about 15 people it fills up way over 20 people within 10 minutes.
I can find European servers with 3-5 people when I play in the morning. I've even played on one where I was alone for almost an hour before somebody else joined, got quite some good loot from that one :v:
Like I said, too much PvP not enough zombie apocalypse we were told.
Adding cars will probably skew the game even more.
Though, I got my fun out of this game so they can keep what I paid already.
The same should go with the rest of you, if you played as much as I did, you shouldn't get a refund now. Most of us played more than what a normal AAA game would give us.
But you didn't pay for Alpha, you paid to play the full release.
But I got my hours and hours of play in already enough. There won't be that many other features in the final that will make it a game changing experience.
Besides, I'm not getting a refund. I will still have the full game I paid for. So It won't change much.
Yeah I just spawned in had no loot.
At this point it is silly. PVP is the core game. They really need to change that despite what the community is saying.
It is comparable to Resident Evil ORC with a looting mechanic.
They either need to make ammo rare as hell or punish bandit acts. Because knew players or revived players have very slim chances of enjoying the game.
I just went into a game with a revived character and got spawn killed. Not even a minute worth of gameplay.
It is off putting to open the game again.
Which is a better loot spot, Ridgeway Airport or Boulder City?
Airport, boulder itself is almost devoid of loot, only good place right now is the bridge. Being said, there are always snipers at the airport.
What if you got banned, and the devs said "you were exploiting" and then tell you "stop whining about being banned because you haven't even played the game yet, only an alpha test".
If I was playing an alpha, why was I perma banned for exploiting. I'd say that's a reason enough to get a refund, and I had played for 80+ hours prior to going off to hospital.
So yeah, if you got banned, and the game isn't even released, so you haven't actually played what you paid for, get a refund.
Thats a legit reason, but the ones that are asking for refunds because it is a "Sinking ship", and that they dont like the game anymore, but have already played it, are still really childish, and it is really wrong to do it.
Have they said anymore on the bandit camps, or have they thrown that idea away?
Have they said anymore on the bandit camps, or have they thrown that idea away?
They said it, I guess it just a later feature.
My brother and I just got the game, I'm excited to play but a little weary about all of the hacking problems I've heard, it sounds like the same problems DayZ had. I personally can deal with loot spawners and such, as unfair as they may be, but Aimbots completely ruin the game and I hope my experience isn't as bad as others.
That said, I see we have a Mumble, is there a specific Facepunch run server? I'd love to team up with a good group of you all.
Hey,
Yes we have a mumble where a few of us get together, usually about 5 to 10 of us.
At the moment no one is really playing due to lack of updates. But hopefully this coming Tuesday we will all be on exploring the said new areas.
Here's the mumble IP:
85.236.101.45
Port: 27037
We can all meet up if there is actually an update on tuesday, a roaming gang of bandits searching new lands.

Honestly, I'd be quite mad, but then I'd try and get a clear answer from the devs while keeping the message worded so they can't take anything the wrong way.

I'm pretty polite most of the time, and I think I sent a reasonable support ticket. Their response was childish and immature. They also never responded to my support ticket and just abused me on the forum. I'd still like a response from support tbh
I've sunk a lot of time into this and I just can't bring myself to justify the money I put down for it. Just sent an email asking for a refund, it's probably unfair to judge it in it's current alpha state but it's just rather empty at the moment.

So you put a lot of time into the game and you can't bring yourself to justify the money? Unless I'm misreading something, you're making no sense. If you've played the game a lot and now you're just bored because it's in alpha and hasn't been updated in a while then you have no right to ask for a refund, unless you were banned for no reason or you can't play the game due to a specific bug, etc.
I think they are too nice when it comes to giving refunds, nobody gets a refund from Steam and most physical objects (at least where I live) only get a refund if they were broken when you bought them or if you return them within 10 days as long as they look as if they were new.

Steam always gives refunds on "preorders".
I never said I was pleased with the time I invested
I have every right to ask for a refund, I gave them money in return for a product, if I am dissatisfied with either the quality of the product or the developers of it then I can. Gamers are customers too.
But as some have said, you aren't even playing the game you paid for.
So you aren't getting a refund for a product you are dissatisfied with. You haven't even got it yet.
Yeah perfectly valid, but after reading around I don't really have faith that this game will get to the stage of development it is promising. Plus I'm a bit of a cunt
lol no you have no right to a refund
lets say black ops 2
lets say you bought the " product " but you dident liked the game
still you have bought the product you knew exactly what it was and it was YOUR decision to buy it not from someone else
its a miracle people are even getting refunds
Game purchased after release =/= game purchased in early stages of development.
Big difference
Here's just my two cents on getting a refund for this game.
It's like this, you go into a restaurant, order a steak dinner medium rare. You then get that steak and eat 3/4 of it before calling to your waiter and saying, "Hey, I ordered this medium rare, not rare; do you see how pink it is?" Obviously, he's probably going to look at you with utter confusion wondering why you felt the need to eat most of it before telling him. Regardless, he'll most likely take it back to the kitchen and you'll either get a refund or another steak.
My point is, if you know that you've played the game, even though it is in Alpha, and have a good amount of time under your belt you shouldn't be demanding refunds. It's kind of a shitty thing to do, especially since you know this game is in early development and that by giving the developers $25+ it's showing you have faith and interest in the game.

Lets say you bought Black Ops 2 in Alpha. Now let's say your Black Ops 2 copy only has a few guns and a map, you can shoot people but there are no objectives or any sort of rankings like in the full game. You decide that you don't think Treyarch is competent enough to finish all of the final product. That's a better example.
There was a lot of footage from alpha if im right you could head over to youtube and watch a lot of footage there

But it doesn't take a considerable amount of time to figure out if the game pleases you or not, say you bought the game, put 5 hours into it and you really didn't like it, alpha or not, if this is a case then maybe you should get a refund (really depends on the length of the game, in this came there is no "length" to it) but if (as GoldenBullet said) you've invested a lot of time into the game and then you decide you want your money back just because, then no you don't deserve a refund.
My heart's pounding right now, holy crap.
I was walking along the cliffs next to the southern ranger station when I spotted a player at the bottom. I quickly went prone after just a quick glance at her NVGs, M16, and body armor. But instead of noticing me, she looked to her right at the adjacent hilltop where there were some other equally well-equipped players shooting at someone who just spawned behind a tree. Soon enough they opened fire on each other and I thanked the devs for not including breakable limbs as I jumped down from the cliff, bandaged myself, and hammered the player in the face.
I hid behind the nearest tree trying to pick up all of her gear while the other two bandits were taking potshots at me, then logged out.

But it does take a considerable amount of time to start to understand how the development is going. Over time you learn the ethic of development of the team and the way they treat their customers. I'm not getting a refund yet, nor may I ever, but to say people are wrong for getting one is another story.

However, people are getting these refunds because other people are complaining that they got banned for no reason which may or may not be true, because there's no proof of it, if you have a valid reason to get a refund (the devs acting like pricks to YOU, being banned for no reason, etc) then by all means you are entitled to a refund but saying you've played the game for a lot of time and now you want a refund? (I'm not speaking to you directly, I'm refering to the situation)
If the reason is lack of updates, I'd understand if we didn't get updates for more than a month but they are obviously working on something and from a game developers perspective, the more regular updates you have to do, the more work you have getting those updates ready and making sure they don't break anything, and it hinders the development of the game as a whole, so I don't mind less frequent updates as long as each update brings quite some good stuff.
This game has already given me more hours of gameplay than many $60 games have so I wouldn't ask for a refund even if they stopped development, which they won't at least for now because that's how they get their income, a ton of people asking for refunds though? that will do just the opposite, and believe me when I say that not a lot of companies would give you a refund for a game, specially if they have a way to know how many hours you've played it.
Geez, i tried to leave this thread for a couple days waiting for this discussion to end and it's still here :(.

Did you try the live support?
http://forums.thewarz.com/showthread.php?65890-Live-Support Talking to Warren directly might fix things, also did you have an overlay like Afterburner or a TS3 overlay?
Some people have been banned for using those.
[editline]25th November 2012[/editline]
Let's not forget that it was the community that wanted the game when it was in Alpha stages. It was asked about on the forums that if the game was released in an Alpha stage, would people still buy it to test it?
A high majority voted yes (including me). And so now they want a refund for playing an alpha that they voted on releasing to the public during an alpha test phase? Grow up.
1: It's a game prototype.
2: It was asked for.
3: This is released for testing purposes. It's not even at Beta yet, and a possibility of this is the hacking that has come up recently. The dev's probably weren't expecting the hacking to arrive so soon, which can cause massive delays.
