That feel when you are trailing someone and you do a quick 180 spin and by accident hit your mouse to the underside of your keyboard thus pushing down mouse 1 and discharging your firearm.
I can't play this game.. especially since my partner who plays the game with me just fucking jumped in the refund bandwagon and left me for dead. I'm very scared of death.
Most deceitful map ever.
That's like the distance between Cherno west and Elektro east. Tops. (I don't care for Day Z, just using it as a comparison). Remember when they said is was at least 160km2, about 3/4 the size of Chernarus. It's not. Not even 1/4 the size. Think about the size of clear view. It's about 200metres north to south. I'll say 300 to be lenient. It takes up almost a whole square on the map. Each square is 300m^2
Square map is 16x16 (including the blur zone) = 256 x 300 = 76800m^2 /1000 = 76.8km2
That is the entire map, including the unplayable section. Counting the squares that are playable, we get roughly 114 grid squares (less than half of the actual map is playable), which turns out to be 114 * 300 = 34,200m^2 = 34.2km^2
And that is using a lenient guess that clearview is 300metres long (3 soccer fields), which I doubt. In fact, it's closer to 1.5 so we just halve that number, giving us about 16 square km to run around in, compared to Chernarus 225 squared km.
No wonder PvP is rampant.
I'd rather have a change of scenery than a bigger map, it would be interesting however if they implemented cross-server map transitions, like there's a few exits from Colorado, and some other future maps that are located to the north, east, west and south, and once you go through a road, tunnel, etc on that direction it disconnects you from the current server and connects you to another one running that specific map.
I'm sort of disappointed. I hope at least that there are player spawns in the western areas of the map, but players will still continue to stick to the east because there are many towns that are relatively near to each other with good loot, so in the end player density will remain the same as it was when the alpha was first released. Idk, time will tell.
I'm laughing my ass off.
Stretching for around 160-170 square kilometers of terrain, Titov says Colorado covers a massive, zombie-filled zone around the size of DayZ’s Chernarus, minus its ocean.
Who remembers what he said about the map size now?
Norad Military Base seems to be the most viable location to trek to in the new part of the map. It has the most military loot. West Boulder Meteorological Station also has some military loot spawns.
Frosty Pines Resort Town is extremely well stocked with food and such but only has medium-tier weapon spawns. Don't go to Mt. Massive Weather Station. There's not much to loot there and it's mostly just food.

um, actually, the devs have mentioned how the loot works.
it runs on a dice, numbers 1-6, 1 being hats, 6 being extremely rare military weapons. every 20 minutes, it rolls the dice and respawns the loot. the more people that come by in those 20 minutes, the higher the chance of a high number (i.e. 5 or 6). the maximum multiplier for these numbers, however, is 4 people. so let's say you got a group of 4 people to sit in a place, such as the post office in whitestone. the entire city of whitestone will have a high chance of spawning civilian or military weaponry. this is why places like the airfield often have guns, because so many people come by in a 20 minute time-span.

Just going by this map.
Haven't seen this posted yet.
Hey hey !
Things were quite busy here at Hammerpoint Interactive and today I just want to go over several topics that everybody keep asking about.
1. Wipe
As we're moving toward Foundation Release ( which most likely will be at same time we'll launch game on Steam ) we'll do a wipe - most likely this weekend. You'll get back all GC you bought as part of the packages, you'll also get some extra free GC as our thank you for being early players. Most likely you'll have all in game characters unlocked for - once again - our present to you guys! We also thinking about giving our some "zombie survival kits" - set of items necessary to start over surviving in a zombie world.
2. New way of buying game. New packages
As we've said before - we want our early adopters to feel special - so we decided that we'll stop selling Survivor, Pioneer packages ( Legend's sales are over for good now, with about 500 or so keys are still available at retail Gamestop locations around USA ). Instead we'll offer number of "unnamed" packages that doesn't offer any recognition ingame, or doesn't unlock any characters from the start, etc. Only difference between packages will be the amount of GC you get.
3. New Antihack
New antihack is coming. I think it'll happen around mid-end of December - new system is relying on analyzing players patterns and reacting upon them. It's pretty complex system running on separate server, and we hope it will let us to replace existing system - that still most of the time ( is wallhack or ESP is used ) rely on humans to ban cheaters - which can take day or two. Once again - we'll become slightly more secure in our never ending fight with hackers.
4. Steam release
Okay this one is simple - game will become available on Steam. We also exploring ways for existing users to link game to their Steam accounts - nothing to report there yet, but we're working on this.
5. GC Sale
Yes you'll be able to buy GC after wipe!
6. New features roadmap.
Okay this one will be more like "wishlist" - it's based on Hammerpoint's internal development plan, but as always something may come up - new hacks, other things that will slow us down. So please take this more like a guidelines, not hard promises:
Foundation Release ( December 2012 )
- Clans
- Friends
- Leaderboards
- Server rentals
- New set of building blocks ( aka barricades and USABLE objects like hydroponics systems )
- Call for help functionality
- Accessing your inventory from Safe Settlement without loging out of the game
- Accessing Store from Safe Settlement without loging out of the game
- .22 cal guns - rifles, pistols
- More cool melee weapons
- Better use of ballistic helmets, armor vests.
- Flare guns ( okay we had it for a while, but just didn't released it to you guys yet )
- Better weight system
- Option to turn on crosshairs in TPS
Still December 2012, but maybe moved to January '13
- "Safe" or "Locker" items - allows you to safely store items anywhere on the map ( think of DayZ's tents, but working properly ). Two types - one with 4-5 digits PIN lock, other with no lock at all
- Map adjustments - even more walkable places - mountains, hills, some tweaks on textures, more enterable buildings, more stuff, new types of trees, etc. Lighting tweaks.
- New characters
- New survival items ( energy tonics to replenish Stamina, meds, etc )
- Tear Gas ( yes this is why you'll want gas masks )
- More civilian weapons
January-February 2013
- 5-6 stronghold maps to be added to the game
- Driveable Vehicles
- Melee fist fights
- Player defined missions !
March 2013
- Better Medic system
- Potentially ( okay POTENTIALLY is a keyword ) - weapons crafting
June - August 2013
- New Map ! One that will be probably 4 times bigger than current Colorado map
- 5-6 more stronghold maps
Have fun and thank you for playing The War Z!!!
i wish vehicles were a bit higher on their list but eh, sounds pretty good to me
I hope they dont call it released when they release it, because it still has a lot of problems, that I have been justifiying with it being an alpha. If they dont fix the rampant hacking and duping/elevator bugs for release, people will start complaining.
I'm sorry, but I still don't get why people say it has so enough bugs that it can't be considered anything but an alpha.
I know it's an alpha, but I haven't come across that many issues or bugs to say that they game is in a terrible state. If anything, it feels like it's on the same level as any low budget built game.

Sorry. But meh, I could buy the cheapest version of it again.
No "Hidden Payments"
You have to spend GC to create a clan atm, i didn't even realise until i lost a good 1000 GC.
NO "HIDDEN PAYMENTS"
Can you still get a refund?
Can you still get a refund?
Apparently people have gotten refunds but im skeptical its that easy.

Yeah I don't believe anything they say until I see it.

Okay, this game is no longer an Alpha, in my opinion its beta or even early beta. Either way poor excuse of a game for alpha or beta.
Did all the game characters unlock for you guys too? I deleted one of my characters after the latest update and all of them were unlocked.
Did all the game characters unlock for you guys too? I deleted one of my characters after the latest update and all of them were unlocked.
Yeah they were unlocked a while back.
The two new characters look horrifying.. They are way too... Small when compared to the other characters.
Is it me or have all the forum moderators of WarZ just disappeared?
Apparently people have gotten refunds but im skeptical its that easy.
This is exactly the email I sent, just to show how easy it actually is:
"Hi
I would like a refund for WarZ because I am not happy with the product I have purchased.
If you need any other information other than what is below in order for this to be processed then I will be able to provide you with such.
Here is a portion copied directly from the purchase receipt email:
Thank you"
Within 30 seconds I had an auto-confirmation. Full re-fund within 3 hours.
Is this worth getting?
Is this worth getting?
At the moment?
No, sorry to kill your fun there.
The WarZ forum is in utter chaos, more than usual.

I believe they were referring to irl cash. Not GC.
So, it looks like a mod got hacked, banned, unbanned, and posts deleted before getting perma'd and let go without signing one single NDA!
He then proceeded to leak all the info that the devs never wished saw the light of day!
EX-Forum Mod Devin here. Let me tell ya some stuff you can spout on for a new youtube video
My forum account was hacked, my fault, they deleted a lot of posts. I was de-modded and banned, got my computer secure, re-modded and unbanned and took care of business as usual. Except their company is full of dumb fucks and didn't backup the forums at all. No backups whatsoever.
Sergay then took it upon himself to tell Kewk to demote me for my fuckup that could have been reversed if they were not so fucking stupid.
I then made a post on the forums about how I knew this was coming; and I was sorry and would not long be supporting a company that did not support their unpaid volunteer Moderators that spent over 100+ hours answering THEIR CUSTOMERS questions and concerns as well as relaying them the ideas the community had for their bullshit game.
I was then banned for making a "Rage quit" thread permanent and here is the even funnier part my in-game account banned under the excuse I requested a refund
So, since I didn't sign any sort of NDA for those fuckfaces here are some interesting facts.
WarZ is a direct port over from War Inc. They literally took the game and added NPCs, made a large map, and changed around camera angles and gun settings while adding more functionality and switching over some things. ALL ART however was actually done in-house by their amazing ART team. (Those were the best guys to know, they were in touch more with the community than Kewk)
They randomly ban accounts that have a certain amount of time spent playing in-game, knowing they are hooked on the game so they re-buy the game.
Their anti-hack is actually functional but here's the kicker..wanna know WHY their bans are TEMPORARY the first time around? 0.8% hacking? Try an EXTREMELY LARGE PORTION of the player base is hacking. If they banned everyone they'd have a mass refund issue on their hands, and no one to play their piss poor of an excuse game.
they plan to HALT DEVELOPMENT AND ABANDON THE GAME in SIX months if revenue is not enough for them (I.E. People are not buying GC and spending the fuck out of it) -- take note, if they do not get ENOUGH revenue. They will have enough revenue to pay for the game development for over a year at this point in time already, but if they don't get enough to give themselves regular raises they will stop making the game and shut down the servers and website.
Here is a "Proof of ban" picture & a proof of me NOT requesting a refund.

So... That is that I guess.
Sounds like someone who butthurt
I feel sorry for these devs. I don't think I've ever seen such a bad community for a game or rather any product in my life.

we were discussing this earlier, a mod on the forums would not have the same info as a dev.
