This is exactly the email I sent, just to show how easy it actually is:
"Hi
I would like a refund for WarZ because I am not happy with the product I have purchased.
If you need any other information other than what is below in order for this to be processed then I will be able to provide you with such.
Here is a portion copied directly from the purchase receipt email:
Thank you"
Within 30 seconds I had an auto-confirmation. Full re-fund within 3 hours.
Which Email did you send this too? I want a refund since I havent played this at all barely.
Anyone know how I would go about getting a refund or if it's possible? I'm not enjoying the game and haven't played it in a good month and I could use the money instead of it being wasted.

they'll try everything they can do within their power to keep your money. if you used paypal your best bet is to get them to try and force a refund.
I'm surprised most of the people here haven't realized they're essentially playing a shitty low-quality cash-in movie game. except there's no movie.

I paid using my debit card so if they try and avoid giving back my money I'm sure I can call and enquire about it with my bank and they get a partial fine so I can threaten them with that I guess

Can I get a link so I can try at some point anyway?

I paid 15€ for a game that I've played for well over 48 hours, please tell me how my money has been wasted and I should get a refund? They're still updating, what surprises me is the amount of people not knowing the concept of an alpha, I've paid 50€ for games shorter than the time I've played War Z overall, I don't feel like my money was wasted at all.
You people keep saying that the game is going to be abandoned by the devs, well if everyone keeps getting refunds because of rumors they heard on the internet (which we all know got the "World's Most Credible Source Award" for every consecutive year since it has been available to the general public) then they will abandon the game because the funding will be insufficient, I knew what I was getting into when I bought it, it wasn't THAT expensive and it certainly wasn't a waste of my money, it's an alpha, deal with it.
I'm honestly not surprised that they're refusing refunds now, I've already given my opinion on them so I won't write a wall of text about it, if you have a valid reason like not being able to play the game due to system incompatibility or being banned without knowing the reason then you should get a refund.
Now if you've played well over a day, then got bored, that's no valid reason for a refund, they haven't stopped development, as we've seen from yesterdays patch (I could hardly play at a stable FPS rate in Medium, I can now play on High with no problems) and this isn't supposed to be a finished product yet, they said it was an alpha, when you bought it you knew it was an alpha, if you don't know the concept of alphas then don't buy them.
The only issues I have with them is that the map is of a lower size than what was mentioned and that the supposed beta that was to come out on the 31st seems to have been replaced by what they call a "Foundation Release". Both of which don't affect me that much, as long as they keep patching and updating the game, which so far they have.
Glad someone has a right working mind @ dean. Its unbelievable how ridicules this forum and their forum has become over this game...
It's kinda refreshing to get some new scenery. The burnt down/ruin town in the west is pretty cool, although idk why loot even exists there.
Have they said whether killing other players will, eventually give XP?
(Unless it already does, wouldn't know because I'm the one who's getting killed)

This game is not beta quality, and won't be by this weekend I can assure that. The managers at the forums ban people left and right for speaking any criticism, and delete any sort of negative press. They also have been known to ban people from the game for no reason, and if you look at their "plans" for the upcoming months, it's going to take them 6-12 months to do what a single person could probably do in a few months max.
So, it looks like a mod got hacked, banned, unbanned, and posts deleted before getting perma'd and let go without signing one single NDA!
He then proceeded to leak all the info that the devs never wished saw the light of day!

Thank you for the e-mail template you posted before.
They also have to test each feature to be sure it's not going to fuck up. But this forum is getting to be too much of a hate thread for a game that is in early development and still has a lot of potential.
I have no issues with this game. Hackers are a pain, yes. But I have actually not encountered one yet, and the bugs aren't that bad. I'll continue to play and enjoy this game, why? Because it's still developing. I'm not dropping out of a test phase in the game. I already payed, and I'm sticking with this until the end.

And that's your personal decision too. I won't criticize anyone for continuing to play, only the game itself. If people want a refund, that's fine, if people don't, well that's just fine too.
Also, it seems the refund process is changing slightly:

Hello,
First think it over:
You were aware that what you bought was not a final version and not even beta-version and thus had numerous drawbacks.
You bought the full version of the game and on sale.
You got the access to the start of the game and can watch it develop and expand.
Every day there is twice as less bugs and crushes.
The game added several servers so you can play with no wait if you press «Quick Join»
So we advise you to stay in the game at least untill the Beta starts so you will not have to buy it again for the full price. If you still want a refund by the said date we will return the money.
Bugs and crushes.
Bugs and crushes.
Haha, yeah it was like a 30 second response, I bet they're just copy pasting it to everyone as they realize they're getting a lot of them.
Should I just wait and let this blow over?
I bought the $15 version yesterday and haven't even installed it yet, but now there's all this junk going on and I'm unsure of what to do.

Just install it, try it out, and see if you like it. If you don't, don't play it, if you do, then have fun.
Well for those who aren't jumping on the refund anyone want to play?
I'll be in the mumble:
85.236.101.45
Port:27037
Off now, no one came on.
Bugs and crushes.
You forgot "twice as less"
To be honest, the game is extremely fun... untill some random hacker kills me. Then my entire day is ruined... so annoying.
If they get that fixed, then I'll be happy with my purchuse... but ATM, it isn't looking to good.
Sergey Titov:
Hey hey !
Things were quite busy here at Hammerpoint Interactive and today I just want to go over several topics that everybody keep asking about.
1. Wipe
As we're moving toward Foundation Release ( which most likely will be at same time we'll launch game on Steam ) we'll do a wipe - most likely this weekend. You'll get back all GC you bought as part of the packages, you'll also get some extra free GC as our thank you for being early players. Most likely you'll have all in game characters unlocked for - once again - our present to you guys! We also thinking about giving our some "zombie survival kits" - set of items necessary to start over surviving in a zombie world.
2. New way of buying game. New packages
As we've said before - we want our early adopters to feel special - so we decided that we'll stop selling Survivor, Pioneer packages ( Legend's sales are over for good now, with about 500 or so keys are still available at retail Gamestop locations around USA ). Instead we'll offer number of "unnamed" packages that doesn't offer any recognition ingame, or doesn't unlock any characters from the start, etc. Only difference between packages will be the amount of GC you get.
3. New Antihack
New antihack is coming. I think it'll happen around mid-end of December - new system is relying on analyzing players patterns and reacting upon them. It's pretty complex system running on separate server, and we hope it will let us to replace existing system - that still most of the time ( is wallhack or ESP is used ) rely on humans to ban cheaters - which can take day or two. Once again - we'll become slightly more secure in our never ending fight with hackers.
4. Steam release
Okay this one is simple - game will become available on Steam. We also exploring ways for existing users to link game to their Steam accounts - nothing to report there yet, but we're working on this.
5. GC Sale
Yes you'll be able to buy GC after wipe!
6. New features roadmap.
Okay this one will be more like "wishlist" - it's based on Hammerpoint's internal development plan, but as always something may come up - new hacks, other things that will slow us down. So please take this more like a guidelines, not hard promises:
Foundation Release ( December 2012 )
- Clans
- Friends
- Leaderboards
- Server rentals
- New set of building blocks ( aka barricades and USABLE objects like hydroponics systems )
- Call for help functionality
- Accessing your inventory from Safe Settlement without loging out of the game
- Accessing Store from Safe Settlement without loging out of the game
- .22 cal guns - rifles, pistols
- More cool melee weapons
- Better use of ballistic helmets, armor vests.
- Flare guns ( okay we had it for a while, but just didn't released it to you guys yet )
- Better weight system
- Option to turn on crosshairs in TPS
Still December 2012, but maybe moved to January '13
- "Safe" or "Locker" items - allows you to safely store items anywhere on the map ( think of DayZ's tents, but working properly ). Two types - one with 4-5 digits PIN lock, other with no lock at all
- Map adjustments - even more walkable places - mountains, hills, some tweaks on textures, more enterable buildings, more stuff, new types of trees, etc. Lighting tweaks.
- New characters
- New survival items ( energy tonics to replenish Stamina, meds, etc )
- Tear Gas ( yes this is why you'll want gas masks )
- More civilian weapons
January-February 2013
- 5-6 stronghold maps to be added to the game
- Driveable Vehicles
- Melee fist fights
- Player defined missions !
March 2013
- Better Medic system
- Potentially ( okay POTENTIALLY is a keyword ) - weapons crafting
June - August 2013
- New Map ! One that will be probably 4 times bigger than current Colorado map
- 5-6 more stronghold maps
Have fun and thank you for playing The War Z!!!
oh dear!! Steam <3
i havent played this game in like a month and im hearing some pretty bad shit about the devs and the team
along with all the hackers, not too fond of this game anymore
Any word on when they will add skills to the game? seeing as they just put XP in. I couldn't find it in that, list of planned content to release.
I think I might have found a hidden tent:

No mention of bandit camps, oh dear that was one thing that i was hoping to be in soon.
Apparently people have gotten refunds but im skeptical its that easy.
It is, provided you purchased it through the xsolla system (if you used paypal, it is very quick). If you did it via debit card, you have to deal direct with WarZ support and they deny all requests. Xsolla just approve them all. I did it on the phone and it took 5 minutes. Was able to verify my paypal refund while they were on the phone.
Hmmm....guess I'll wait for this new anti-cheat system before playing then.
