Fuck yeah! Found my first gun after the wipe! ...The Ruger in my global inventory...
I found my first 2 guns after the wipe. Mossberg and Jericho. Also, go to Fallsdale. There is literally nobody there, so I have a bit of everything. Even a large backpack.

I thought they held back the wipe so they could sort out serverhopping? I remember Johnny Truant saying that... Did they not do it?

I met a very horrible bandit today. I was walking from mountain crest to campos, when i saw him running around with a sniper rifle. I walk around with my weapons holstered, so when he looked at me, he figured he would just save a round and melee me with his hatchet instead. As he approached, i pulled out my AA12, and shot him twice in the chest. Got me an alice pack, AWM, forest armor, and m4 with five full stanag mags.
So does the wipe delete all your characters? Or am i just getting some type of bug? I thought it was suppose to delete all stats

Jezus christ what is happening to the servers me and 2 friends keep having incredibly long loading times and are nearly unable to connect to any server :v:

ok i don't get this http://forums.thewarz.com/showthread.php?68079-FREE-CLANS-are-coming-! "Additional clan slots will be sold in increments of 20 members. Price is TBD. I personally feel it should be like $5-7" how is this different from what they previously had?
They really need to change it so any weapons you have equipped are always visible, when you see someone running along who just suddenly pulls an assault rifle out of their ass to shoot you with its pretty fucking annoying.
Officially just turning into a bandit, i'm done being nice. I seen some guy in the military base, so started asking if he was friendly, he replied yes he was. I lingered about a bit watching him just to be sure, he spotted me and jumped around saying to meet him. I felt that he would have shot me with his sniper if he wanted to kill me by now, so I go up and meet him only for his to point blank shoot me in the face after our nice friendly conversation...
can't join any servers, just getting that old issue where it sends you back to the main menu

If anything it should be free, it is a function of the game. I don't like how these guys are going about this at all. They're still in development and they're worrying about a little micro-game store.

Oh yeah. Don't trust people who try to get close to you. Trust people who generally try to avoid you.
It kind of sucks that the isn't a single player option. All new comers get put off by this game by the community. [editline]5th December 2012[/editline] It is mighty strange how many people have turned on The War Z devs. Can't say that I blame them since the devs are so disconnected from the community not saying a single word to them. It is one thing to get mods to watch the Forum but to make them messengers is just stupid. This is why I have more faith in SandSwept making The Dead Linger. Since they can actually give feed back on community and their suggestions. Let alone they have the common courtesy not to make a watered down DayZ. Which in all seriousness The War Z is. No innovation what so ever. The DayZ might just be a buggy mod but at least it has more zombies, more reasons for team play and is a lot more realistic. The War Z actually punishes you for grouping up. I've owned the game for over a month now and it is just stupid how much it takes the annoying stuff out of the DayZ and takes zero of the good stuff. I think the devs earned their hate. I will give them credit when they innovate and actually make some reasons to group up with other players because for now it is just a free for all.
Please tell me how exactly Day Z rewards you more for teamwork than War Z does. Just making sure we played the same game here.
They more than likely threatened him in some legal way. There are things he cant say he knows 100% either way. To be honest that wasnt the hole to plug though.
It also kind of sucks how they didn't do anything they said they were going to do, other than the wipe.
Servers just went down again, wonder what is up?
The number one thing they need to take care of is not hackers. It is server hopping. The wipe did nothing if they didn't take care of server hopping. The community has given them heaps of suggestions, the most popular one that seems to come up is a timer stopping you from connecting to another server until the timer counts down. Or they could do it Day Z style and only spawn loot when a player gets near a location, and not spawn any when you log in. That way, if you log in, and loot is there, you know a player has been nearby, and probably legit taken all the good stuff, or if you log in and there is no loot, then too bad, you are a hopper (or just happened to log out there, but either way, you don't get a free ride), and you get nothing. Here are some ways I can see them fixing the game. It's not an MMO, so I don't know why they are advertising it as one. Even with Stats, it is no more an MMO than Planetside 2, or Call of Duty with it's stats & unlocks. * Scrap the marketplace. * Sell the game for $19, no upgrades or whatever * Release the servers for free, allow people to host their own on their own/rented servers. I've said this before, but $90 a month for server hosting is seriously expensive. I can rent a 20 slot tf2 server for $10 a month. Keep a central hive to log in to, and allow private hives. * What is the point of strongholds? You get a portion of the map to "secure". And then what? Sit in it? * Get rid of the zombies. Or add a ton more. Either way will make the game better. The former seems to go against the general idea, but it is how everyone plays at the moment (zombies are a minor annoyance, that's all). The latter will make it more of a survival game, but they don't seem to be able to add more than a few zombies that mill around. * By allowing people to host their own servers, and password/admin them, they can eliminate server hopping on an individual basis. Someone could easily write a script to ban users that drop in and out and stay for less than 2 minutes, and do it on multiple occasions. A lot of their development is going towards IAP (server hosting, marketplace) which really just screams cash-grab. I know it's a business, and all businesses want to make money, and they aren't just developing the game because they want to make people happy, but they are going about it all the wrong way and have built up such negative press at this stage, it will take a heck of a lot of goodwill from the devs to turn this around.
I think they will encounter some severe issues soon. The developpement process seems so random and the patches are very inconsistent. The developpers only seek to add further content and mechanics, which are mostly flawed. The main issue is that the whole foundation and frame is not really stable, they need to fix the basic mechanics first in order to expand on them. For now WarZ is really popular because it is a quite unique product on the market, playing this game with friends is a blast, but only because of that the game is great. Not so much because of the satisfying game mechanics, but because of the interaction and communication between players. Without that the game would be a pile of crap. I just hope that they get their priorities right.
If the gameplay was any good, I would be willing to forgive the bland environments, lazy animations, and horrid optimization. Right now, there's nothing going on. You spawn, you run around looking for shit, either die or manage to find food and a weapon, either die or go around looking for more shit, either die or find more food and more weapons, and either die or log out.
What is the point of strongholds? You get a portion of the map to "secure". And then what? Sit in it?
Essentially base building with the prospect of growing crops and such for trade.
Right now, there's nothing going on.
Essentially base building with the prospect of growing crops and such for trade.
As if this will ever happen. I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but judging by the way things have gone at the moment, do you actually think that growing crops for trading will be implemented? Still, growing crops = sitting in your base watching grass grow. It's a pipe dream that I doubt will ever get implemented.
This is what happens when you name your character "Zombie." [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/HRUMT.jpg[/img_thumb]
Oh nice.
Essentially base building with the prospect of growing crops and such for trade. Even if the game was genuinely well polished, you would still be doing that.
Isn't the end goal of the game to have actual objectives or missions or something? Another thing the game doesn't do right is bullets. I just got shot to death by a guy several hundred meters away. That wouldn't seem too astonishing, but I had been sitting behind a tree for about 15 minutes, hiding and trying to discern whether or not there was someone shooting at me. I could only see a muzzleflash way, way far away, and I only heard distant gunshots. I had absolutely no way to tell if there were bullets hitting things near me, or the person was shooting zombies or someone else. There are zero sound effects for when a bullet strikes something, and zero particle effects to go along with it. They took about 20+ shots, at which point I assumed that surely no one would waste an entire clip shooting a tree, so I tried leaving cover to get somewhere else, and promptly died in 3-4 hits.
