Isn't the end goal of the game to have actual objectives or missions or something?
Another thing the game doesn't do right is bullets.
I just got shot to death by a guy several hundred meters away.
That wouldn't seem too astonishing, but I had been sitting behind a tree for about 15 minutes, hiding and trying to discern whether or not there was someone shooting at me.
I could only see a muzzleflash way, way far away, and I only heard distant gunshots.
I had absolutely no way to tell if there were bullets hitting things near me, or the person was shooting zombies or someone else. There are zero sound effects for when a bullet strikes something, and zero particle effects to go along with it.
They took about 20+ shots, at which point I assumed that surely no one would waste an entire clip shooting a tree, so I tried leaving cover to get somewhere else, and promptly died in 3-4 hits.
I like how there's no bullet hit sounds when someone's fire a gun at you, but when someone swings a hammer nearby you can hear ricochets.
I'm just going to join servers with <10 people now.
The chances of seeing anyone are so low, although there still is the threat of a lone sniper wandering the fields.
I managed to forage through Smalltown at leisure, finding a medium backpack, a hammer, a bunch of food and drink, bandages, and 3 flashlights. The sprint to the safe zone was uneventful, although I was terrified at the thought of a random guy picking me off from 200 yards and stealing all my stuff.
got killed by 2 different hackers, and guns are still super common
After swiftly getting dispatched on the first two characters I made since the wipe, I finally made some success as Drunken Dan. I found myself at Frosty Pines, and it turns out that the game would start crashing after playing for 15 minutes, not sure why. Regardless, I ended up walking out of Frosty Pines with 2 mossbergs, the .22 pistol, an MP7, an M4, a Hammer, and three kills under my belt (all separate encounters on different servers and between crashes). I almost walked out with an M16 but I used that to kill the three dudes.
Would anyone be familiar with the crashing? It's only seemed to have happened at Frosty Pines, and I don't ever recall it happening elsewhere while I played.
I feel bad about killing at least two of those people, I can't trust anyone, and fortunately I listened to my gut when I killed the second guy, he ended up calling me a hacker that could see through walls, even though I could see him plain as day on the bottom floor of the big cabin, while I was on the top floor. The first and third kills didn't have to happen though, but I guess I didn't get where I am now being nice to people, unlike my first two characters.

Maybe then people won't bother you.
Hackers have increased a fuck ton.
Almost everyone I've come to has ESP or No clip.
Ask Jerry, he's a witness.

There you see how much the devs care.

so true, like 4/5 players are using a hack of some sort
I am so tired of hackers
I used to enjoy this game, now whenever I go to some place dangerous to loot I get killed within minutes by some obvious hackers. they don't even try to make it look like they aint hackin anymore
they even say on the public chat they hack & shit
Whens that server side update that suppose to get rid of the hackers coming out?
Also with the zombie skin is that when the name is only "zombie" or when its something like "zombie joe"
Not as cool either way as if its just "zombie" only one person out of the whole community has it, if its the latter then everyone will change their name to have the skin.
Is this worth? Did they improve anything lately?
No wonder hacking is so bad. The free ones got updated.

I tried zombie joe, just got a regular human.
Although there are a lot of hackers, I dont feel like the game is unplayable, or that 4/5 people are using them. I have a lot of good games where i dont encounter hackers. However, 9/10 are bandits though
A bandit near Frosty Pines killed 4 people on my team. I killed him and then 2 other guys showed up. One guy tried flanking me and I shot him up, and then his buddy tried to hammer me to death and I killed him too. After that the previous bandit I killed had respawned in (on a new character or another guy he had up there) and I killed him again. Got a bunch of M16s, Jericho 9mm, Mossbergs, Armor, and medical supplies. Only 2 guys from my team came back to help get it all so we had to leave all the backpacks and lesser useful things behind.

Yeah... I suppose it just works if the name is plain "Zombie".

Maybe 4 of 5 people isn't correct. But Jerry and I must have had shit luck since that's what it was like yesterday.
People spotted us while we hid in obscure places. People zipped about and a few appeared and disappeared in front of us.
And of course the occasional player snapped to the us and fired a single shot to kill us.
I'm loving how dark the night time is!
It makes the game more immersive, and adds a real cover from snipers camping the cities. Not 100% invisibility but enough to not catch their immediate attention.

Yeah, I usually try to sneak into Campos at night. I just think that I have a better chance of survival.
Speaking of cover, it seems that some of the optimizations they did in the latest patch notes was making grass less dense, I've noticed it disappears not as far away as it used to. That kinda removes the point of going prone in tall grass if a player is nearby, because on their screen you'll look as if you're prone with no cover at all if they are a distance away. You'll have a better chance hiding in tree leaves that reaches the ground.
I haven't noticed much crashing issues yet. I'm still using that old hotfix where you run the game as administrator and in compatibility mode for Windows Vista SP2.
After the update, crashes have occurred more often.
I haven't used the hot fix though.
I just thought of something.
What if there was some kind of grace period when you connect to a server?
Like, instead of plopping down as soon as you're connected, you open up to a screen saying, like, welcome to the server or something, and you are given a chance to survey your surroundings before spawning.
Then you could just play with a group and ghost people all day erry day.
atleast give you godmode until you get control of your character.
I don't know how they could fix it but rocking up in the exact same spot when you reconnect is kind of shitty and the 10 seconds honestly isn't that long when you've got some backup or you've laid down some fire and made your enemy too nervous to approach in time. Had some firefight with 4 other players and these dicks would take it in turns to disconnect and reconnect to try and flank me until I decided to grab what I could and log off in a post office to find a quieter server.
God I hope they fix fucking fall damage soon, I just go down a slop slowly and I lose half my god damn health.
Yesterday I was unable to play with my friends, we all got kicked from the servers. Sometimes one of us was able to connect to one but the other couldn't. It was so damn frustratin. We used all kinds of servers.
I might stop playing until they get their shit together.

Sounds like far cry 3 :v:
in far cry 3 you slide, you literally walk down a hill and take damage
Does anyone happen to have an extra Guest code for The War Z?
