If you're a 12 year old who only finds entertainment through cheating, maybe.
It's not even that, it's just this game is so bad and it has the worst community i've ever seen in a game. I payed $30 for this shit so I might as well get some sort of entertainment from it.
Is there an official Facepunch clan on War Z?
Is there an official Facepunch clan on War Z?
I've been wondering the same thing. I'm all lonely in Smalltown.
Whats with all this talk of the game still being in beta? I though it was released already.
Also, what is up with some of you saying stuff like "I played it for two hours, and didnt like it. How do i get a refund"? You bought the game, you cant just say you want a refund because it didnt meet your expectations? If you didnt read up on the thread or the forums about the problems, and just bought it, its your fault for not understanding what you were buying, and if you did but still bought it, you gotta be prepared to face them. You wouldnt get a refund for most other things in the same price range, because you "Got bored" after two hours with it, so why is it okay to get refunds here? I really cant wait for it to get on steam, so people cant get a silly refund because they got bored after playing it for 40 hours. [editline]7th December 2012[/editline] It isnt done yet, jesus fucking christ.
You can tow this party line all you want, but most western countries (US, Britain, Australia, New Zealand) have consumer guarantee acts/fair trade laws that govern exactly this, and most of them also relate to digital purchases. It is entirely his right to get a refund, regardless of whether or not you agree with it. It was advertised as having a whole lot of features, and the devs talked about it prior to release as though those features already existed (Sergey even made up some lame story about how testing teams had set up gladiator battles with zombies in Stronghold). Sure, they might exist someday (might), but not yet, or the foreseeable future. [editline]8th December 2012[/editline]
Fuck it, I'm done with this thread. You guys just bitch and whine about a game that isn't even fully released yet. It's not even the Foundation Release, for crying out loud! This is only the BETA now. It hasn't even been a week yet. The Beta Started on the 3rd!
Who cares what they call it. This is like that web 2.0 design crap where every website on the net was in beta for 5 years.
If the developers don't pull their shit together fast, either by getting another developer to help or anything. This game is going to die fast.
They really fucked up increasing the servers to 70 players and decreasing the amount of servers to half, now it's impossible to walk around 4 minutes without finding someone and getting killed by hackers or other players, I seriously hope they get their shit together.
I love how everything took a turn for the worst after alpha.
I surprisingly got lucky yesterday without dieing with my character once. I played for 5 hours too, that's the weirdest part.
I'm not getting a refund as I've already had many enjoyable hours in the game, but everything they do lately seems to screw over the players even more, it's like they can't distinguish a bad decision from a good one until they do it and see our reactions. Anyone with a brain could see that increasing the amount of players with a map this size and with the hacking issue still unresolved was gonna turn into a shitstorm.
Exactly thats the devs in a nutshell
Everyone on US 119 (45/70) just fell dead.
Everyone on US 119 (45/70) just fell dead.
Haven't you been reading this thread. There are no hackers in WarZ, only bad players. You all glitched off a rock by exploiting. They said that Colorado would be 70 players and you would encounter other people every 5-10 minutes. What they didn't count on was that every one of those other players would be so anxious or griefy that they would kill you on sight.

What they didn't count on was that every one of those other players would be so anxious or griefy that they would kill you on sight.
I know it was one of their promises, and that would be fine if the map was as big as they originally said, not less than half the original size promised (which was around ~220 km^2 if I'm not mistaken, while the current Colorado is ~70km^2) At 70km^2 you're bound to find 1 player per 1km^2, and that's not taking into account most players go to places with loot so they're mostly focused there, meaning you'll probably find 5-6 players in almost every city, town, etc you go to within 5-10 minutes. Add the trigger-happy community and the hackers to that and the game has become nothing but a deathmatch, I've gone through my five characters in less than an hour, this is not enjoyable anymore, not going solo at least, we might have a chance teaming up with others but the hackers are still an issue.
To be honest i have way more fun in this game if i meet people every 5-10 minutes. The reason i got bored of DayZ was because it was so uncommon to find anyone, and because there was a massive inflation of servers, you had over 1000 servers with 2-5 players on each. If you have fewer servers and more people, there will be more player-interaction. If the map was as big as Chernarus, you would have the same problem.
You rather meet people more often? You crazy man.
I'd hate to say it but I haven't played in weeks. I haven't had the motivation or the need to go onto War Z until they do something about the PvP. Say what you like but PvP isn't all that relevant to a zombie survival game. It feels like the humans destroyed civilization not the undead hordes. Due to every player fighting for loot. For someone that hated DayZ's mechanics I rather give the stand alone a try rather than wait for The War Z to get better. Simply because it was done first and done better. My trust sticks with Sandswept but The Dead Linger is a way off to becoming a game. But the worst thing is despite The War Z update when will they make this game more focused on zombie survival. As of right now all the players are doing is killing each other. Miss direction in my opinion. It simply can't be called zombie survival. I would rather have a player fire a shot and hordes of zombie move in on his position. The zombies are so few and far between it is ridiculous.
I guess we all will have to wait for State of Decay, or whatever it was. Since trusting humans to play together in a zombie apoc, is downright impossible.
Id say dead matter, state of decay and the dead linger are the ones to go now as the devs at the moment have been showed to be too stupid to difference good ideas between bad ones, ban people if they insult the game or just rant about it etc
Can you still get a refund?
Anyone have an extra guest key?
I created a new character and spawned in a server that had 60+ people in it after the 70 slot server update. I actually liked it. I spawned in the trailer park to see someone with a flashlight looking for loot near the spawn, he acknowledged me but didn't kill me. I then found 2 players on a mountain overlooking the woods and had a little chat. So I either had a 1 in a billion chance experience or people will cooperate more if they aren't so isolated. I guess if it's the latter then soon you might meet another person, and with the increased density the person might think that rather than killing you and possibly alerting another bandit of his/her's presence, they should team up with you. In addition, if VoIP is ever added that would make teaming up much more easier in game. But if it's the former I could be dead wrong.
At least it won't be a server of 250. Or even 150. That'd be hell.
I guess we all will have to wait for State of Decay, or whatever it was.
Oh man Im looking forward for state of decay, cant wait to drive around for hours trying to decide where to have my main base :V
Arent they aiming for 200 man servers?
On bigger maps, yes.
Well, a few shots off a Kruger penetrated my MTV pretty damn easy. Good to know the .22 is just another pistol. And the fact I was hiding in a pitch black area. All while Kewk was enjoying his dick being sucked by every player on the server.

So, .22 is the strongest pistol in the game and it has no drop.
Can you still get a refund?
No harm in trying. Bring up the hackers in some way as well, might help.
This game is only fun if you're using a hack.
I'm sorry, but Hackers are ruining the game!!
I also wish they would change the running animation to something a little more normal. Not one where it looks like your character is trying to make it to the toilet before they go number two.
