I guess at this moment in time its probably worth the tenner, since it will have a lot of new players that wont kill each other on sight, however other time this game turns everyone into a bandit since there is very little downside to killing other players, and that the best way to get gear is to kill others, there is also little to do other than kill people.
Playing with friends does make the game better if they're good at fps since you can just form a clan and go around killing everyone.
*I'd say wait for more reviews and videos since the game is now "released" before making a decision.

Also saw a random steam screen shot, how come it still says "alpha test functionality" when you enter the safe zone?

Yeah, iT's really unoptimised
This game was dying for me until I got a bunch of friends to buy it, now 10 of us just run around looting places and shooting everyone we see and it's a lot of fun even with all the bugs and the occasional hacker who kills us all.
So is this worth the $15 asking price? And the Steam Store apparently forgets to mention the game is in beta?

Can't be that bad can it?

also forgets to mention everything else (If there's anything wrong, don't blame me, I didn't make it)
Well... if it's still in Alpha that's understandable.
Well... if it's still in Alpha that's understandable.
Point is it isn't. They've pushed it into "release" when it's still alpha.
Like said, a big thing is the griefing. I lost about 6 characters yesterday all in 30 minutes of starting up WarZ.
I had nothing and most of them, so I had to go to spawn areas to get something. Point is, you got shot dead pretty quick in this game. Because the best way to get gear is to kill others.
I'm just tired of being worried that I'll be shot if I move.
God, i wish they would just have waited with the release until it was finished. I love the game, even though it has many flaws, and i am hoping it gets better, but if they keep this up i think they may kill their own company before they finishes it.
That's p much part of the game though - worrying about other players. If you really want loot that badly then join low population servers and plan out quick loot runs. That's how solo players amass even more gear than large groups.

But because the map isn't very big you have to constantly worry about other players, i spent more time looking over my shoulder than looking ahead when i played.
i think one of the main problems too is the map size
i mean in DayZ i played about for 12 hours in very populated servers and i NEVER found a player only zombies
of course that doesnt mean i dident looked behind me from time to time
but in WarZ all my deaths were caused by random guys that one shot kill me

Metacritc as we all know isn't very reliable, I say if you got $15 and a friend or two to play with go for it, you can do MUCH worse with $15, just please if you do buy it be really patient with it, this game will kick your ass for probably a good 3 hours before you even begin to get used to it.

Literally the only thing that could be that bad is if you got an .exe that didn't do anything. Only proving that Metacritic is an awfully unreliable website.

Well I can understand the anger among the community. Many probably haven't heard about the game before it was on Steam and they spent $15 thinking the stuff promised on the store page was in game when it wasn't.
That's fine, but they should learn the full story before going off and doing reviews on the game. It's like when someone plays the first level of a Steam game and then go and make a recommendation saying how shit the game is.
If you buy it on steam do you still get those guest passes ?
If you buy it on steam do you still get those guest passes ?
I pretty sure you dont, they were causing problems anyway since people were giving them away to people who would use the guest pass to hack, then the person who gave the guest pass would get banned.
Hell i say buy it for $15 It'll last ya longer than the food i buy.
Today i spent $16.50 for a footlong sub and vanilla coke...I don't regret it one bit though.

Vanilla coke is the best, of course you wouldn't regret it.
How do we activate our War Z on steam. Tried the serial key doesn't seem to work?
How do we activate our War Z on steam. Tried the serial key doesn't seem to work?
I think we can't do it yet.
Lets just hope the game doesn't go back to what it was like a month ago. Literally 2/3 of everyone was hacking, including my dumbass friend. A billion people looking through walls, killing you with a shotgun from 500 meters away. Randomly dieing by by a guy noclipping with a hammer. It. Sucked.
It seems to be easing off now... but I'm still skeptical. This game is like a really bad drug, nothing good rarely happens, but I keep coming back to it for some reason. Although, I recently got into Day Z which I really haven't got into before. It's safe to say which game I'll be playing more now... there is just so much more to do/see in Day Z.
EDIT: Oh my goodness, this is pure gold.

The new zombie spawns haven't done much for me.
I went to Norad and all the zombies were stuck on the outside of the fences. They couuldn't come into the base at all. So it was basically safe to walk in.
At splinter camp, I was able to causually run through, before someone shot me. (Watched them get mauled by zombies after they checked my empty body.)
Same with Frosty Resort. I just walked through.
I have yet to see Boulder or Campos.
But those supposed more spawns haven't changed much in gameplay for me, or those who I've watched.
The devs just made a post apologizing about the bans that were given to legit players, those who were unjustly banned have now been unbanned and given 700 Gold Coins as an apology. I would post a link but a phone + copy paste= bad times.
First they saw the posts .. they pretty much sayd PFFF THEY HACKED OUR SYSTEM IS PERFECT
now they actually recon legit players got banned
its like they want to sloooowly suicide themselfs
I'd rather have them admit their mistakes late than not at all.
