Mini-update:
Players have been very vocal about having 100 player servers so we added a 100 player server and will be increasing the amount of servers up to 100 over time
Lowered damage from falling
The correct amount of GC displays after reviving now
Properly showing an error message when you do not have enough GC to revive
Fixed a bug that deducted GC for revive but did not revive. We also refunded back all of the missing GC for this bug.
100 player slots may be fulfilling their promises but will make the game even more of a hellhole for those who already dislike the unforgiving gameplay.

Looks like something done in gmod
I feel so bad and stupid that I once praised this game (early 2012) I was all like "gun be great, check this info check that info im all over this game" then it got released, got my guest key from someone and tested this. Never touched it again :v: I knew after just 2 weeks that it'll end like this.
Sorry zeldar that I hated on you at the start of the thread.
how is zeldar like the only person still defending this game
i think he just likes to go against the majority

I still enjoy the game despite its devs and reputation as a triple B title.
I'm going to be honest here. Yes the company is being greedy, and yes they're not giving EVERYTHING they promised, but it at least seems like they're trying. They didn't HAVE to toss in those 100-man servers, but they did. Sure, that was something they promised, but they were just trying to keep the game stable for us so EVERYONE didn't have a shit experience with the game.
I don't know. I'm giving them time. They fucked up in some respects, but I still see a chance for them to redeem themselves at least a little.

Wait you need to be kidding. At the start you hated the shit out of this game to probably just gain unlimited dumbs and now you changed to this? What the hell you really hate mainstream I guess.

Four hour revive, Pay to revive instantly.
I mean come on, You can buy the game bundled with the coins off steam, That system might work in tribes but it certainly shouldn't be a part of a zombie game.

Damn hipsters...
So with the whole recent thing about instant revives costing 50 GC I was pretty upset about it, but then I got to thinking how much 50 GC actually was, well the answer was pretty shocking.

Okay so by default the amount starts at $5, we get about 625 GC out of it, alright so let's see bring this up to 675 GC and see how much it costs

And thus we conclude that a revive costs about 40 cents, we're literally sitting here, calling this company complete shit and absolutely evil........for 40 cents...........I honestly don't have a big problem with this anymore.
Because you still are paying to be revived.
40 cents or 1 cents.
It's still a pay to win.

Pay 2 Win implies getting an item that gives the player such a huge advantage that their is no possible way to compete, when you revive in War Z you start off with literally nothing, sure that man can go buy a melee weapon off the store, but if he finds somebody with a gun or an even more skilled person with a melee weapon he's gonna get fucked up, once they start adding guns to the store that's when I'll have a problem, until then the store is fine........sort of......

40c every time you die?
Go play a PVP game, count how many times you die
Multiple it by 0.4
[editline]18th December 2012[/editline]
That's for PLAYING THE GAME
Unless you want to wait 4 hours

It is paying for an advantage, the advantage of being able to revive instantly with a character. Over the other people that have to wait. Also, you can spawn with guns, go to your GI first.
That issue where people instantly respawn on a server back in the first release, to get back at their killers.

You are paying 40 cents to expedite a revive. In a game where you will die. A lot. At the beginning.
The game also costs FIFTEEN DOLLARS TO BUY.
AND HAS A PAY TO WIN SHOP.

You don't exactly spawn back where you were killed, just somewhere within the premises, by the time they pay to revive, find the server, and load back in the killer will be probably be long gone if he knows what's good for him, also the whole gun thing is pretty situational as that varies by player some people have them and some people don't. I do agree however, it's a pretty sticky issue.

That's also situational, I could be playing a game like, oh say Natural Selection 2, I could hop onto the command chair and cry myself to sleep as my team gets slaughtered while I suffer only one death at the end, likewise I could play CoD and either have a great run or a shit run depending on how luck favors me, there is no solid number.
A few of my guys near Norad keep spawning on the hills behind Norad in the same spot. I can run to Norad and get a good view of it in less than a few seconds.
They aren't forcing you to early revive your character.
I'll probably never use this feature anyway, i'll just wait the goddamn 4 hours while i play on other character.
I just had an awesome run in Boulder.
I met up with a group of "Military" members in a clan, and they dropped some low-tier stuff for me like a hammer, some food, etc.
Then out of fucking NOWHERE someone starts shooting and two of the four go down. I take cover behind a car and the other two start shooting back, only to get killed themselves.
The lone gunman that took out the four guys from a building comes to collect his spoils, blissfully unaware that I'm hiding behind a taxi only a few feet away from him. He stops to look at all his loot, and I run in, hammer in hand, and beat the FUCK out of him. He's dead before he even realizes it.
So here I am, piles of loot all around me, and I take my pick of a few AK's, a .22 and ammo, plenty of food and water, and a santa hat (:v:).
I left a little for anyone else who happened to pass buy, and someone did - friendly, luckily - and we teamed up, making our way out of Boulder all the way to the safe zone. We saved each others asses countless times on the way there, and while we were both bleeding all over the place, we were on safe soil.
Sometimes, this game can be fucking amazing. It all depends on the people. It's hit and miss, usually miss, but the hits make it all seem worthwhile.

Awesome, I had a cool experience in Norad, get there and there's this guy running around with a santa hat and what must have been like 60 zombies after him, I'm hiding on top of the mountain next to a tree and another guy speaks in proximity "I see you santa", and I say "I wonder if he has any cool presents", then the santa guy tries to take all those zombies in the direction of the other guy, at this point I don't know what happened, I take it they both died, either by zombies or hammering each other out, not sure but they both disconnected, with the path clear I went in, found 2 large backpacks, 1 vest, 1 jericho and 1 AA-12, among the usual stuff like pain killers, bandages, etc. Then went straight to the safe zone to store it all :v:
When people defend paying for a basic thing such as reviving in a PvP game, I think of all that wasted semen that could have gone towards making a smarter person ;_;

Now this......this I like, this man illustrates his points pretty damn well and isn't all super ultra angry like some people are, this man just generally sounds disappointed but optimistic at the same time

I agree totally. If anyone kills all 5 of their characters within 4 hours, then they're doing something wrong.
Hahaha oh god I can't even play to show how bad the game is as it keeps telling me to update the client. :v:
I agree totally. If anyone kills all 5 of their characters within 4 hours, then they're doing something wrong.
You'd be surprised, it doesn't always happens but sometimes you can easily get 3 of your characters killed within minutes because you spawned near someone or in the middle of zombies, and I'm talking about newly spawned characters, once I spawned in the middle of fucking Mountaincrest, with good loot on me, just to be instantly killed by a horde.
i'm not trying to turn this into a debate about the game but should i actually get this for 15$ and see how it is or should i wait until the developers actually address the majority of the issues within the game (let's at least hope they do)

To be honest, it's hard to say. Like the user above said, spawns can be screwed up and spawn you inside of hordes of zombies or 2 feet from people. I have been playing since the first day and I have never to this day had that problem, as well as I have barely ever run into hackers (which apparently are a lot more rare with the recent ban hammer). So I mean it's up to you really, it's your money. Personally $15 was very little for me to lose on a game, and I enjoy every second in the game. It all comes down to you.
i actually enjoy underdog games if they're good so i may get something out of it once more issues are actually taken care of, judging by the current state of it

I'd recommend you to wait until they've finished the game.
That is if you don't mind them taking your money and treat you like shit.
