Watching the pax alpha gameplay its amazing how much of this video was faked and staged

When was the last time there was this much fucking backlash for a new release? This has to be a fucking record.
Like I said, I bought the game too early on. October 7th. I can't get a refund. I'm just going to stay positive and hope it gets better.
Stop torturing yourself, the fact that you bought something doesn't forces you to play it.
You can pay $60 for single player games that gives you roughly 7 hours of gameplay with ease,
but in a multiplayer game that you've spent a lot more hours in you struggle to keep on playing it even though its a piece of shit doesn't sounds right.
You had your fun with the game, delete it and move on to a better game regardless of refund. (hint: the game wont get any better than its current state)

I'm almost sad now after seeing this again. I got so pumped to play this after watching. Come to find out, nothing like that is even close to being in the game.
Why did it get removed from steam? People got mad and it got removed?
Why did it get removed from steam? People got mad and it got removed?
Because it's not a remotely close-to-being-finished game. Steam does not allow uncompleted games.
Why did it get removed from steam? People got mad and it got removed?
The Developers lied in the Steam features list. They also were banning people from their steam forums for criticism.

Steam has allowed uncompleted games in the past but they have always stated they aren't done.
Is it really not finished yet, I last played it a couple of weeks after it "released" and was pretty bored of it at its current state, and it did feel unfinished.

Most of what was in that video is possible in the game, however, what would really happen is that everyone in Campos would see you from a mile away with your flashlight and you'd be dead 5 seconds into the video.

The simulated radio chat they're having is not in-game, the zombies actually have decent animations in this video, and there's a crawling zombie, never seen one of those either, zombies don't actually eat players after they kill them (oh, this must be the girl), the whole thing is staged and badly at that.
The game isn't so bad now that I got refunded by steam and can still play it.
People are complete assholes though.
My friend and I went up to the ski resort, we both found some helmets, I found a tactical vest and a large rucksack. I had an m16 and a 5-7, he had an Uzi.
We went up to the third floor and noticed a guy on the floor below us, he didn't have a gun, so we aimed at him and told him to get out of here unless he wanted to be shot (get out of here stalker) he backed up but didn't leave, I was about ready to shoot him when a zombie knocked him off and killed him. We went down to get his backpack and flashlight when another guy ran up to us being chased by a zombie. He ended up getting killed by the zombie.
And then some asshole smoked my friend, I put a burst into his face with my m16 and he still somehow fucking killed me with all the gear I had on.
After that we decided if we see ANYONE we're going to shoot no questions asked.
Playing the nice guy doesn't work.

I've found a really nice tactic to play this game, want to go into a zone and want others to stay away? Scream: "hacker in ****" on global chat :v:
Once we can find some guns again we're probably just going to pick them off from a safe distance.
However, it's spawning us without gear, so we can't even defend ourselves from zombies.

Sergey's reaction to the entire thing, seems like he invested in Rosetta Stone......or a translator.........either way he admits what happened was wrong so that's pretty cool in my book
I'm a little confused about that mechanic actually, spawning without all your stuff I mean.
A bug/feature in the Day Z code which forces zombies to walk indoors in the only reason why people don't get slaughtered by zombies when looking for shit. That and the fuckload of health allows you to run past zombies for a period of time. The only reason why you need to ever stop is because it's easy as fuck to get cut and bleed everywhere.
As far as I know War Z zombies don't have this feature, how exactly are you meant to find items?

I dunno... it seems like he's backpeddling like a motherfucker because he got caught. At least if the GameSpy interview is any indication. He was smug as fuck there.

I think after the whole Steam thing he dropped his extremely thick ego, we'll see how the next interview goes.

If the zombies ran indoors we'd all be fucked. In WarZ they don't even look like they're running they're like jogging and they still catch up to you. Hell, if they removed the stamina bar the game would already be better.

I'm pretty sure whoever wrote that article fixed the spelling mistakes, just yesterday he was speaking like the typical russian. And this is not the first time he admits he's wrong, whenever the community starts getting pissed off he admits he was wrong, then they "fix" something and later fuck it all up again, which is starting to look like it's on purpose. Seriously, from that article, the fact that they ever thought a 24 hour respawn time was a good idea is beyond my comprehension as a Videogame Design student and as a gamer, same goes for a lot of other decisions and ideas they've had.

PCGamer probably just cleaned up his grammar like they did in the last interview with him.
Or rather, Sergey's PR squad.
Does anyone still have a guest pass they would be willing to give? I'm not sure if they would still work though? I still want to check out the game despite all the crap going on.

He's obviously just doing this because people have started to rip him a new asshole. Wouldn't be surprised if he'd got legal issues starting now causing him to go "I'm nice now ok", like stated in the GameSpy interview he was a smug fucker blaming all the issues on the players because they couldn't read.

What I don't get is how they staged it... if they could do that in game, why couldn't it be in the actual game? Is it an entirely different engine, with a whole set created with scripted events just for a preview to hype the game up?

The engine is the same, the animations don't lag because this was probably done on a local server and the whole chat thing was most likely recorded after they recorded the video.
Looking around the WarZ forums and I feel bad for of the developers. If the rest of the mods and staff were like them the game, or at least the forums, would be far better. And they've been like this since before the steam fiasco.
I agree, if it was up to me I would put 6-8 more months into development, and I would not release this until its so polished and ready.
But again guys, Im not in charge of the business and community handling.
Im so sorry for what is happening guys with this fiasco.
I cant say that Im not embarrassed and I wish I could do anything to change this

I am embarrassed for the Steam situation. If I said I wasnt, I would be purely lying.
However I want to stress out the fact that, NONE of US will be giving up, or have any intention to give up on our game. Its out of question and discussion.
Its ok to have disagreements on the team, but we are not quiting or killing the project. Sergey did an interview with the PC gamer, and answered the important questions.
As for me and my team, we have a lot of work ahead of us.
And in response to the four hour spawn time
I'll bring this up again to the higher up, but I will probably be told something like "No money, no honey."
But in all seriousness, if this is a huge issue for a lot of you guys I will bring this up.
again
If the developers don't rub this fiasco in the higherup's face they're never gonna learn that this is NOT A WAY TO MARKET YOUR COMPANY.
If the developers don't rub this fiasco in the higherup's face they're never gonna learn that this is NOT A WAY TO MARKET YOUR COMPANY.
If they don't get fired.
If they don't get fired.
Which is probably why these idiots will make the same mistake again.
I still like the game though even after all this bullshit around it.
I still have faith on this game, fuck me right?
I like how without even an update to the game everyone has turned on it. If I hadn't been on the internet in the past 3 days and I played the game again today NOTHING would be different for me.
EDIT: To clarify, I don't understand what changed about the game that made everyone hate it. Was it the 4 hour respawn? That's all I know that added recently. Sure they wrote shitty stuff on the Steam page but frankly I don't have the game on Steam and it doesn't affect me at all. The game still plays the same.
