The game is clearly a scam, if all the shit that's happened in the past 48 hours alone isn't enough proof I don't know what is.
I wish people would stop calling it a scam. It makes you sound like idiots. They are selling a product, and they deliver the product on payment. Some of the features advertised are not implemented yet, and the product as a whole sucks, mainly because of the devs attitude as well as the community and nature of the game. But it's not a scam. If it is, it's the most expensive long con ever, because they actually have a full time staff working on it. Having said that, I am glad I got a refund back when everyone was telling me to "shut up it's in alpha".
Refund success!
guys, I don't want to sound like a dick but I told you so. Just had to say that.
Looking around the WarZ forums and I feel bad for of the developers. If the rest of the mods and staff were like them the game, or at least the forums, would be far better. And they've been like this since before the steam fiasco. And in response to the four hour spawn time
The spawn timer is complete bull shit in my opinion. He takes away the most basic things to enjoy a game. So let alone a shitty spawn system that gets you killed 50% within the first 5 minutes if not less. If we have a bad game we will need to wait over 3 hours to get back in. Sergey is full of shit specially on the surveys he lies through his teeth. No one way were those numbers right on any servery. The community resent him and he knows that he just isn't willing to face it because he likes the money to much. I think in store micro transactions are awful. But pay to spawn is something else.
guys, I don't want to sound like a dick but I told you so. Just had to say that.
I could tell from the first glance that this would turn up as a bad rushed copy of DayZ. Sergey is full of shit and his game deserves nothing but failure. I hope that someone sues his company out of the gaming business
this picture made me laugh, looks like the gmod poses i used to make like 6 years ago
I think the models were t posed + bend on arm.
I'll say it again. I can't still believe the are people defending this bad excuse of a game and the bad excuse of a developer.
I'll say it again. I can't still believe the are people defending this bad excuse of a game and the bad excuse of a developer.
I think trying to justify their purchase which is normal

Now think how when they announced the game they said it had been worked on for a year before dayz came out. Now think of the fact that most of what you see is an obvious copy paste of their previous game War Inc. Consider how they've been lying about features the whole damn time, when they announced the game they said servers would have 250 players each, 400 square kilometer maps (and while they state the current map is OVER 100, someone made the calculations and it's actually around 10), ALL the screenshots they used for advertising were blatantly staged, showing features that weren't in the game at all, later saying these features (such as vehicles) are working in the test builds but aren't ready to be added, yet no actual footage or information beyond that has seen the light of day The verdict? WarZ is a blatant rushed money grab which attempted to ride Dayz's coattail, between the false advertising and the disgraceful microtransaction models, they tried to make as money as they could and in a few weeks/months time nobody will hear from this game ever again. The whole affair has been such a PR nightmare for steam itself that I'll be very surprised if they ever let this game anywhere near the store again. The sad thing is that one way or the other they actually succeeded in their money grab since not everyone is going to bother with refunds, and the game's been on the top selling list on steam for as long as it's been out.

Yes. Was The WarZ full of false promises and shitty design? Yes. Is it a scam? No. You pay for "The WarZ" and you get "The WarZ".
So uh, Anyway to refund this if i bought it from the site during the first week? Bought it with my credit card.
Wanna know that too. Not a big loss if I never see my 50$ back but any money taken from these assholes will be awesome.

I am not really happy with the developement of this game, it has tons of issues and a lack of polish. Still I had tons of great fun playing with my friends, it's great fun in coop. It also provides you with some great laughs due to the absurd situations that you get into. Also it is pretty atmospheric. This hate bandwagon is quite exagerated and has become a major trend, now with the steam release, the hate got even more fueled.
i still dont understand one thing about sergey first about the steam description he sayd players misreaded it but after the game was taken down steam and he got intervewied he sayd it was a mistake by theyr communications department?
Was the WarZ shit? Yes. Was The WarZ full of false promises and shitty design? Yes. Is it a scam? No. You pay for "The WarZ" and you get "The WarZ".
How is something full of false promises not a scam? (Referring to the description on steam specifically) False information, fabricated screenshots, first they state it is the customers' fault for misunderstanding (if so many people misunderstand you it's already a mistake in itself) then later they back off saying it was a miscomunication error. That all seems pretty shady to me. They've been doing this kind of stuff since they announced it, it's nothing new. I'm not saying they planned to do this by the start (I am not excluding it, either.), but my impression is they've been meaning to treat this as a cash cow (the horrible, horrible microtransaction system is proof enough of this, it's undeniable) which is not necessarily an "evil" thing to do, they might have even hoped to make it into a great game but with DayZ nearing release and WarZ being the unfinished piece of shit that it is (for the record, I can't stand DayZ either. I'm not making a comparison or anything.) they just said "fuck it, people will buy it anyway. Let's exaggerate everything about the game so we get more people to buy it before it's too late".
Why are they implementing leaderboards? way to make the game more of a deathmatch
"As for ability to revive your character using micro transactions—okay once again that was a convenience feature that we planned from the start. So neither of those features were actually tied to the Steam release itself."
http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/12/20/the-war-z-interview-sergey-titov-backlash/ Oh you planned to milk your customers that already payed for the game in the first place? good to know.

So. Stay out of sleepy crest. Nothing spawns there except maybe a few things of junk food. And uh. About 70 zombies. That's not including the zombies actually IN the town too. Friend came up to the town first, and was counting the ones he saw in the town. I asked him if he knew about the ones on the left and his exact response was "No, where ar- oh... oh...." Also candy canes are better than hammers, bats, and pickaxes.

Is there a fool proof way to obtain a refund? Something I can say to xsolla? Last time I said in the support chat I wasn't happy with the game etc etc they just said 'Sorry, we are not handing out refunds at this time. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.'
The first time I tried with them, they responded but ignored me when I said WarZ, the second they told me there was some problems with the chat when I mentioned WarZ and the 3rd they just didn't respond at all after me typing WarZ into my first sentence. I waited until the chat closed itself to see if they would respond, and no luck.

The game gets too dark for night time. I understand adding atmosphere, but this is rediculous. I just got killed by a couple zombies in the forest after I spawned. I tried fighting them, but died, because I wasn't sure where they were coming from. Maybe I'm crazy and it's just me though...
