In that case they HAVE to give you a refund. I don't know the name of the exact law (as I don't live there) but there are consumer protection laws in place that they must follow. If you ask for a refund and quote that law and they STILL don't give it to you, you can take it up with the police. I think it might be this one: http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1979/54 Also an explanation: http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/bills/article-1585686/Consumer-rights.html *But please note that I am not an economics expert
I figured there was something like this but didn't want to go trawling through legislation! Section 13(1) is what I was looking for, thanks :) 13 Sale by description. (1)Where there is a contract for the sale of goods by description, there is an implied term that the goods will correspond with the description.

They took down this topic and closed it.. http://forums.thewarz.com/showthread.php?79039-War-Z-on-metacritic-tell-us-what-do-you-think-!/page34 Last page says "sorry guys, this is not constructive. thread closed" after that meta-critic shit backfired on their asses.
This thread should really just be closed tbh. It's just a bunch of people circlejerking about how much they hate the game and "I told you so" while there's probably one post per page that actually has anything to do with playing the game. 4.5k post yay.
Except people rarely kill just for the pleasure of ruining someone else's day. It's all about the loot. For all we know the two guys Nate saw were starving.
The game is pretty much PVP with a few zombie NPCs tossed in here and there. Of course people are going to try and kill and loot everything that gets near them.

People are free to talk and post about this game in any shape or form as long as it isn't against the forum rules.

No i think we continue what we do best, Play the game and discuss our stories/patches/progress.

This game is actually fun when you play with a friend, probably more fun than most.
I played a bit on the emulator thing, the game's pretty dull, at least when playing solo.
Except people rarely kill just for the pleasure of ruining someone else's day. It's all about the loot. For all we know the two guys Nate saw were starving.
Its not about loot its about killing them before they kill you, that is the thing about war z its eventually turns everyone into bandits, and when the leaderboards are implemented there'll be even more megabandits since they can all show their e-peens to each other. So how does this actually compare to Day-Z? I have Arma2 and it's clunky as hell, on many levels as clunky as this game. Sadly I don't have Operation Arrowhead so I've never tried DAYZ
Oh hey look who it is! :O

I've already played the emulated version, I'm curious as how it compares to DAYZ.
Thing is, if you have access to the source code of a game you can improve it, they just don't feel like it. They scaled the models down to fit into a regular map so that they wouldn't have to implement a proper terrain system with chunk management, etc. Believe me, it's a bother, it took me (an amateur programmer) an evening to do it right in Unity /sarcasm
What? It doesn't matter how much you scale the model down, unless you are taking quality away you are still drawing the same amount of triangles. Unless you are talking about floating point inaccuracy problems, but scaling down doesn't fix that - if you scaled the world down then the physics for player positions and the such would become less accurate (in relation with the players), and appear jittery.
Oh hey look who it is! :O
Looking at the thread on reddit its just the picture of the chat from a xsolla person so its not the warz team but a third company, Just making sure so we don't have posts complaining about something irrelevant.
I bought the game a while back and now that it got released on steam a pal of mine wanted to buy it, I said that we could do some coop which is really great but I warned him about the state of the game. He bought it anyway and we had one day of fun. Afterwards everybody went apeshit and the game got fucked over. I hope that this will turn to the better over the next week.
Hint: look at the person who posted it.
Yeah i was just stating encase there were people who didn't know who hezzy is (ex fp mod). Because it looks like reddits eating up the image even though its not war z dev team. From that reddit thread
Hi Everyone, Xsolla team here! Proof: https://twitter.com/xsolla Let me clear the air a bit about whats going on and how you can get some help. If you purchased the game via the War-Z site, please contact Xsolla Support. You may call, chat or email. For best results, send an email to support@xsolla.com Please include your invoice number and all other relevant details. We are working hard to get to every ticket as quickly as possible. If you purchased the game via Steam, please follow Steams method for creating a ticket on their site. Xsolla is offering refunds to customers who are not satisfied with the game, however the rate of refunds is far below 1%. Unlike what mr_squiggle says, contacting Paypal and your bank is not the best means to solve your issue. Chargebacks on authentic, verified purchases are rarely turned over. Paypal offers some protection to buyers, however that protection expires. Both cases take much longer than contacting the merchant directly. In the case of purchasing the game via the War-Z site, Xsolla is the merchant. In the case you purchased the game via Steam, Valve is the merchant. *Note: Contacting merchants first is always the quickest means to solve a payment issue.
By the way, I found out yesterday that you can avoid damage when going down mountains by just constantly jumping, not sure if it's common knowledge but I'll leave it here anyway.
except it's not? actually read the thread next time
It is. Doesn't mean it should be closed though. @Valdread Yeah, now that I think about it the threat of another survivor is usually more prevalent in your mind then what loot they're carrying. Hardly makes it griefing though.
This game is actually fun when you play with a friend, probably more fun than most.
Yeah, I usually go with a group of 3-4 friends and it's a blast. [editline]21st December 2012[/editline] Why does everyone hate this game though? I've never seen any opinons online before and suddenly shit pops up about this anywhere I go.

The hate train is mostly due to the developers handling situations really poorly. It's just extremely unpolished. As in, it should really still be at the internal testing stage. It's such as a shame though, because you can just see that this is a great game concept and there's such hope there for an amazing experience.
