• The War Z - This IS NOT A GAME, IT'S A SCAM

All I hope for mainly is a less rigid feeling control scheme and for it not to run as bad as the ARMA II mod for me, and with the talk about the redone client-server communication, I'm hopeful for the latter, because it sure as shit isn't my GPU's fault when I'm running at all low, nor do I believe it to be my CPU.
To be fair these people he was criticizing were spawn campers, hackers, and glitchers, a detail which oddly isn't mentioned much. Doesn't make it any less immature though, but he wasn't just going around the forums calling random fans of his game faggots.
Calling anyone "Faggots" is like calling someone "Nigger". It's unseemly, unsavory, unprofessional, and even if you don't mean it as a slur THAT'S THE ACCEPTED CONNOTATION AND WILL BE VIEWED AS SUCH. Serge is a walking, talking, PR nightmare. Besides, they are playing the game in a way that isn't bannable, isn't exploiting, and isn't against the terms of service, calling them any name for simply playing the game in a legal, if not frowned upon, way is fucking stupid for a game developer.
I think the point is that it's unseemly for a representative of a company to be using slurs in public statements.
This guy gets it.

Glitching is exploitation by definition.
Hacking and glitching is bannable. Glitching is exploitation by definition.
I thought this was in reference to banditry, which is entirely allowed by both the mechanics of the game and nature of the genre.
Hacking and glitching is bannable. Glitching is exploitation by definition.
What I read it said that it was in reference to people who "camp", not glitching or hacking. (Look at the quote)
And spawn camping, which, while dick-ish, is not glitching or hacking.

So they basically look like immature homophobic 12 year olds. To be frank I personally think he is an idiot. Everything that comes out of his mouth just makes him look stupid. Some people might be happy to hear him say sorry but for me it is to little to late and saying sorry doesn't make the insult of a game any better. To much has been said and done. His all talk he continues to say the game will be amazing but it was pretty much "Oh, the potential" to "Oh my god what have they done?" I'm still impressed that people think the game is some how going to magically get better because he has said sorry. I strongly doubt it. I think firing him will be a start though.
Really? Huh, swore he was originally talking about hackers and such. [editline]22nd December 2012[/editline] Ah, thanks. My bad then.
Really? Huh, swore he was originally talking about hackers and such. [editline]22nd December 2012[/editline] Ah, thanks. My bad then.
Yeah, completely understandable, it's a little hard to believe that he's that much of a fuckin nut.
Really it's such a shame that he's the figurehead for the company. Whether or not the game will steadily improve is still in question, but now the game's pretty much stuck with a relatively small loyal following.
Sergey is a brilliant marketer / leader. He proved that with Big Rigs. If he hadn't helped to produce the worst game ever, and instead like the 4th or 5th, it would not have done nearly as well in sales. [editline]22nd December 2012[/editline]
Really it's such a shame that he's the figurehead for the company. Surely this is rock bottom." Then another thing comes up. I feel like I'm jinxing it or something.
I've come to the conclusion that Sergey will never learn to use "the" before "game", after all, he made game.
Well, he admitted the game is still in Alpha. Although he admitted to it still doesn't make things right.
Faith on this game: Restored. [editline]22nd December 2012[/editline] For now...
You do realize he 'apologized' because he had to right? I mean he backed himself into such a corner, one which he is still pretty much fucked over in at this point. With how shittily he conducted his various interviews, his behavior and all his other bullshit saying 'sorry' should mean almost nothing to anyone intelligent enough to see through it. Lost touch with the community? Really. If they knew anything about community management at all they wouldn't have added in bullshit microtransactions to scam people out of their money right after they bought it. Or actually adding in content they themselves wrote in their description. Or debating the meaning that saying your game supports up to 100 doesn't necessarily mean that the game will have 100 player servers. The apology is more like 'Oh gee, you guys saw through our simple-minded money making strategies, time to change tactics'. Then again if you actually buy into his bullshit buddy buddy 'apology' then you deserve every dollar you lose. On a related note, how is this game going to get back onto steam? Last I checked, it had a Metacritic score of 1.1/100, and it wasn't doing so well on other review sites either. Considering all the controversy it has garnered and the trouble they have already brought upon Steam, will Valve even allow them to sell it again? '19 people think game is shit 3, people like game' Followed by a massive shitstorm and the game getting downvoted to 1.1. [editline]23rd December 2012[/editline]
Well, he admitted the game is still in Alpha. Now he just refers to the game as being out of beta and in a 'foundation release' whatever the fuck that means.
Whats to come which has been discussed in a live stream
- Ghulliesuits; We are soon getting to test out. They are aware that some players may think they are too imbalanced, so it will be carefully tested. - Night Time Effects; Russian likes the current night darkness but is willing to adapt to what the community wants. He want to encourage use of flashlights. - Russian really seem to like the idea of Molotov coctails, Chainsaw, Flashbangs, Tear gas. - He also took notes of the idea of having a riot shield carried in the primary slot, attachable flashlights to clothes, a compass that adds a display on your UI when you find it and arrows that can attract zombies to other players - Swimming; It's something that has been brought up before to the dev team, but Russian will double-check if it could ever be a possible feature. - Plans for new year; Biggest thing for Hammerpoints is private servers, strongholds and friends coming up early 2013. Lots of new weapons, for example Katana blades etc. - Vehicles; These are already complete and functional, but they dont want to give them right away for Colorado. They want to test small things like motorcycles, quads or little trucks before the bigger vehicles. - Polishing terrain; New trees are coming. Cities like Campos and Boulders are getting a huge overlay with weathering, like in screenshots, lots of decals and overlays. - California; The map design will be completely new, no old buildings will be re-used. They are inspired by the cities of games like GTA, San Andreas and are going around taking pictures from cities and locations for accuracy. About the map design, think about an abandoned Hollywood, schools, stadiums stuff like that. It will not be rushed, no dates yet. They want it to be the best map. - User-submitted designs; Designs for clothing that a player could contribute and later buy for GC is not feasible, simply because how much energy Hammerpoint would have to spend on approving and censoring. - Refillable waterbottles; (from lakes etc) is something they've talked about, but it needs to be balanced. He can't say either yes or no on this but the team seems positive about it. - Lockboxes; There's a reason why there's not much mentioned about this at the moment, but he's not allowed to talk about it. - Season Items; They will do special stuff like we got this holiday each holiday. He does not know if the stuff will dissapear after the holiday but he'll check. - Key bindings; Russian has no idea if it will be possible to add more key bindings for yourself. - Superzombie; it's ingame but it's really really really rare. The chance to encounter it will increase after the holidays.

That is a really old post. Now he just refers to the game as being out of beta and in a 'foundation release' whatever the fuck that means.
It was a term Dean hall used to describe what Dayz standalone would be like when it came out, sergey saw him use it and thought to use it also.
Vehicles; These are already complete and functional, but they dont want to give them right away for Colorado. They want to test small things like motorcycles, quads or little trucks before the bigger vehicles.
I highly doubt this is true, if they were complete they would of added them by now and sergey said vehicles wouldn't be in for months.
Found all that in an hour at the ski resort. Amazing run. That's including the time it took me to get back to a safezone. Also, great bait. Tell people there is a super zombie in a certain location and just wait for them to come flocking. I actually did it to make sure people cleared out of Norad so I could loot it.
i just found two fucking blaisers oh my god yes. i finally have sniper rifles

One of the devs or forum mods is called something like "RussianKiller" maybe thats him? :V [editline]23rd December 2012[/editline] Seems like Warz will have to change their name as its too similar to the upcoming movie "world war z" Source:http://warzscam.tumblr.com/post/38634146432/exclusive-war-z-trademark-suspended-game-will-have (sites biased but the infos still good)
Honestly, I think a new name will be good for the game. It was too much like DayZ, and copied or not, people instantly jump to conclusions. Just look at what minecraft did to any other game with "craft" at the end which came after it.
One of the devs or forum mods is called something like "RussianKiller" maybe thats him? :V
RussianKaliber I believe.
Well. I found out my friend makes good bait. He just got the game and can't even handle the zombies yet, so I was escorting him into the Ski-resort, I didn't have much on me other than my flashlight and a SIG P226. We walk into the garage and I hear three sets of footsteps, I bolt outside and draw my gun and start typing as fast as I can for my friend to get to cover. Too late, a bandit with an MP5 and body armor rounds the back entrance and kills my friend, but it gave me all the time in the world to pump 10 rounds into his face. Overall we came out ontop, because it got him a gun, and got me some body armor.
Walking around in Pleasant Valley, clean up the place, about to leave (going up a hill) get shot with a kruger, change to antibiotics and heal, sprint all the way to the top of the hill and heal myself again, go back using a tree as cover, see around 30 zombies who were previously sleeping all over the forest going after the two guys who shot at me, take out M4 with Forward Grip attached, 8 shots and both guys dead and 30 zombies on top of them. (keep in mind I was over 200 meters away from them with no scope) Go down the hill, kill most of the zombies with the remaining ammo in the M4, the others with a kandy kane, grab their stuff and run back to the safezone, a good 20 minute run overall :v: This is the stuff I got from them: [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9133125/WarZ%202012-12-23%2018-44-53-54.png[/img_thumb]
Just caught a group of Russians duping in one of the safezones, I surprised them and all but one of them scattered like roaches (disconnected). I then proceeded to grab all the items before he was able to get any of them. I got myself 7 M4s and a silencer.
wait you wanna tell me this sergey is behind Big Rigs?
wait you wanna tell me this sergey is behind Big Rigs?
He was the development head and licensed the game engine to the company that made it. Sound familiar?
He was the development head and licensed the game engine to the company that made it. Sound familiar?
Oh shit, how fucking unexpected, but then again not surprising.
