I don't think they can make it steam only. Unless they plan to put it on steam and stop selling it elsewhere.

Only your first five (maybe ten, i dont remember) got a starter pack... All characters after that wont start with anything. Also, to move something to your global, you gotta enter a safezone (Marked with red circles on the map), and log out, and put stuff in/take stuff out from the menu. It is very clunky and weird now, but they are planning on making you able to remove and add stuff to your global from within the game.

Another good tip is: If you run into a group of organized campers within a city, and they pin you down, just leave the server. There's no point in going into a battle of attrition with them. There just seriously is no point. Don't try to run, you'll get shot in the back, or by some third guy that their gun shots attracted. Just find an empty house or something, and just disconnect to join another.
Takes the fun out of it? Sure as fuck does. But people in this game have an asinine ability to stay in one spot for hours in this game.
Also, stay out of Glennwood springs. It isn't worth going there because half the damn items are glitched so you can't pick them up.
Is there any tips for finding guns in this game? I mean, I have found a lot of:
Jericho 9mm's
Double Barrel shotguns
M16's
M4 Semi
M4
P226
Kruger .22
Kruger .22 Rifle
Kruger Mini-14
Mossberg 590
AA-12
Colt Anaconda
But I've never found anything else, and basically all of these weapons I've found more than once (except the M4, and the Mossberg 590)
Assholes over at Xsolla keep closing my chats as soon as I mention a refund.
I then tried to file a paypal complaint, only to find I had surpassed the 45-day limit (I preordered very early on...)
I have now written a complaint to the helpdesk of paypal.

God damn they have to fix server hopping, one can't even enter echo's compound anymore without being ambushed by server hoppers or campers, the other day I come down from Blue Ridge, enter the compound and hear shots outside, the whole place inside was empty, so I wait behind a wall in 3rd person view and see a guy entering, coming in my direction, 3 shots with the kruger I found inside and he was dead, picked up his shotgun, etc and as soon as I was leaving I get shot in the back by 2 asshole server hoppers that spawned in the place I had just been hiding in.
I find campers even more entertaining, run inside echo's compound, one camper is laying down on the back of the truck, the other is in the garbage container in front of the truck, I jump on top of the truck and jump around (had nothing on me, fully aware that they were there) and it took them like 30 shots to kill me, I didn't even have a vest, I was just running around and jumping laughing my ass off at these guys, still made fun of them in proximity chat for the next 60 seconds after I died, they were pretty pissed.
i really wont touch the game until there are private servers on and someone on FP gets it

in DayZ 80% of the people i found was friendly i mean i was at cherno all covered up in zombies on my near-death and outta the blue 2 fully armed guys clear all the zombies, gave me a blood pack and a gun as well some supplies they even letted me followed them where we got more military gear and i proceeded to log off
the other 20% was from people who shot me on sight

I understand if you bought it on steam, it was bought under false advertising and you deserve a refund for it, but I don't quite get why people are wanting a refund when they bought the game to get alpha/beta access before it came out? I'm pretty sure it'll say in the T+C that when you bought it back then you're buying the game as-is.
So the guest passes are only available for 24 hours after purchase?

They did promise quite a bit before all this shit happened. For one, the cheat system they said they had to make every thing better still is barely doing anything.
And they did lie about a the map size and such.

We were rather given a choise, that we could actually instead of getting 6 months of hosting, split the money a bit, and not use it all for hosting. Stop spreading lies to further drag the games reputation down the shitter

I have two M4 Semi's on my other account along with two m4 full autos.
Had to kill two guys in boulder city, saw them go into a building so I hit behind a van. They peaked into the van and started coming around the front of it and said "Lol nope" and wasted them with an AA12 and got the fuck out of there.

I'm not lying, it was my understanding, since I was one of those people (I paid $30 for 1 month to get early beta access). Last time I checked, there was a notice, not a survey, about giving GC worth 1 month of hosting. Guess it's been changed. I also got banned on ban wave #1, back in early November, for glitching. So forgive me if I think the game is a pile of crap. I'll be back when server hosting is delayed until forever.

I've actually only ran into one hacker so far.
It was in campos, I was behind a check out in a grocery store in third person because I heard gun fire, was chilling there for 5 minutes not moving, no possible way for me to be spotted without me spotting the guy first.
And he came around the back side of a building across the street and just instantly opened fire on my exact position.
I disconnected right away after that.

I've only come across 2 hackers, both of them were using a speed-prone hack.
I don't know what this guy was thinking.
I was in rockyford following some flashlight guys at the dead of night. I scared the two of them off because I had a gun drawn when they spotted me.
I then saw a third player coming into town and I stopped moving and just stood still in the middle of the road.
He crouch walked up to an ambulance and saw me pointing a gun at him. He had a hammer in his hand and started crouch walking towards me. Then once he thought he was at a good enough distance he got up and started to run right at me.
Pop pop, only took two .22 rounds to his face and he dropped.
He called me a faggot and left.
So what's the general consensus for this then? Some are saying it's absolute arse (Gamespy gave it a 1/10 and imo their reviews are pretty reliable) while others are saying it's like DayZ in that it takes a while to really get into it but once you do it's a fair amount of fun.

Their are some people backing this game. But I think that is general fanboyism.
Some people are just putting up with it and biting the bullet and hoping that it will get better. Other have given up and got their money back or are trying to.
I'll just sit and watch. I can't be bothered to go through the hassle of a refund. But the reviews at the moment are justified about the shady release.
I just get a bad vibe from Hammerpoint and don't trust what they are doing about the War Z.
I think in the end it will be half arsed and they will move onto another project.
