I find the game fun as well, you are not alone :v:
So what's the general consensus for this then? Some are saying it's absolute arse (Gamespy gave it a 1/10 and imo their reviews are pretty reliable) while others are saying it's like DayZ in that it takes a while to really get into it but once you do it's a fair amount of fun.
The general consensus is probably that its shit, given it has the lowest metacritic score, and shit reviews, but I, and many others like to play it. It is really fun when you get into it, and it feels a bit like DayZ without many of the horrible mechanics (The way attachements, backpacks, and doors work, etc), but with a lot of new problems. The game is far from dead, and I (Although this may be the "fanboyism" talking), have faith in that Hammerpoint will make the game work properly. They have fixed a lot of the issues, and the patches keep coming.
Lol. [editline]31st December 2012[/editline] Woop woop just lost it to no spread 300m m16.
Jesus christ, where did you go to even get half of that shit?
Jesus christ, where did you go to even get half of that shit?
All of it from boulder.
Thank you for leading us through Boulder and Campos. I still think you're too liberal with ammo.
have faith in that Hammerpoint will make the game work properly. They have fixed a lot of the issues, and the patches keep coming.
A lot of the issues were caused by their bad game design decisions, i feel that Sergey has really brought the companies image right down as all of warz bad rep is pretty much his fault because he lies and makes promises on behalf of the dev team when he doesn't know if the promises are even possible as this moment in time.
Woop, found my first sniper since the wipe! A blaser that spawned in the clearview police station.
I've just managed to ransack freaking Campos city in a server with 4 players, and haven't found anything useful besides a damn helmet, 4 Kruger .22's, a few mags for various weapons that I don't have, and a hammer. I guess my luck is just way too little for this game.
You have to make a few passes through a town before you really start finding the good gear. [editline]31st December 2012[/editline] Youtube made this darker than the source video for some reason. Pretty stupid.
Holy shit. Me and my clan friend went to Frosty Pines and sat at the manor. We waited there on the third floor and wanted to find ourselves again. My friend had a pistol with 2-3 shots in it. We saw a guy with no weapons come down the slope. We didn't bother with him until we saw him on the left side of the clinic with an m16. We both panicked but my friend said he would try to take him out with his 3 remaining shots. My friend takes his 3 shots at him and manages to kill him with his last shot. We run to his corpse and see.. 2 m16s, ak74, 2 kruger .22 pistols, 2 sig suer pistols and a few other weapons. bandages, painkillers, antibiotics and ammo. Fucking JACKPOT.
Damn, I've found a bunch of AK74 magazines up to this point, but never a rifle other than M16/M4/M4 Semi/Mini-14/Kruger .22 Rifle.
You have to make a few passes through a town before you really start finding the good gear.
I don't quite understand what you mean by that, sorry :v: So, the more towns/cities you have traveled through over time(IE: crossing several towns and cities in a row) the spawned items will gradually get better?
i don't know if you guys know this yet, but XP influences how rare of weapons you find. my character has about 2,000 XP and M4s, AK74s, AA-12s, even the Sig Sauer 556, the rarest rifle in the game, seem to spawn around me like magic. like, literally wherever i go. not deleting your characters has value. right now i have 20 rows of guns in my Global Inventory :3
Shit, well that makes sense then. Glad I haven't deleted my top 3 characters, and just kept playing them. Time to go grind, and smash 900 zombies with a carpenters hammer now.
i don't know if you guys know this yet, but XP influences how rare of weapons you find. my character has about 2,000 XP and M4s, AK74s, AA-12s, even the Sig Sauer 556, the rarest rifle in the game, seem to spawn around me like magic. like, literally wherever i go. not deleting your characters has value. right now i have 20 rows of guns in my Global Inventory :3
uh pretty sure that's not true spawns are completely random and the only that influences them is the amount of players in an area, with up to 4 players being the maximum effect
uh pretty sure that's not true spawns are completely random and the only that influences them is the amount of players in an area, with up to 4 players being the maximum effect
funny, i found a blaiser sniper rifle and i was pretty sure there was noone within a 600m radius of me, or even the town.
Where are the best loot spots in boulder? I mean, every time I go there, I end up finding shit. Literally and figuratively, but the best item I've ever found there was a damned MP7. I never find anything good, and when I do, it's immediately cut short by ~~~edgy COD Kiddies. And speaking of ~~~edgy,
funny, i found a blaiser sniper rifle and i was pretty sure there was noone within a 600m radius of me, or even the town.
again, spawns are completely random you have a higher chance to have better loot spawn with more players in the area, but you can still find a m107 by yourself the devs have gone over the spawn system and experience has never had anything to do with it
Just found a new handgun, my favorite one. An FN FiveseveN, large back pack, a boatload of high end meds, 2 M16's, and a helmet at camp splinter. Then insta-die while being in a tight spot between a fence and a house(Picked up a lot of good stuff, time to take it easy, stay in places where people can't get me etc.) this spot was closed off to open areas, with only 2 entrances. From behind, or in front. Shot 3 times, no gun shot sounds, instantly died, no one came to pick up my loot, not a single missed shot, or shot over my death. Fucking shithead was hacking. I'm not one to complain about hackers every time I die, and I've only been killed by one ONCE prior to this(out of like, a bajillion deaths so far and 21 hours of game time.) Others have been sketchy, but really obvious when there's a third-person view that's easy to abuse in a lot of situations. Time for a break. Fuck.
again, spawns are completely random you have a higher chance to have better loot spawn with more players in the area, but you can still find a m107 by yourself the devs have gone over the spawn system and experience has never had anything to do with it
i'd like to know why i'm finding so many weapons after i increased my xp count to 2,000, even in small towns where i'm 100% sure there's no-one nearby.
i'd like to know why i'm finding so many weapons after i increased my xp count to 2,000, even in small towns where i'm 100% sure there's no-one nearby.
coincidence
We should play together then LilRobot That's if you're willing to share your golden ass hairs. :v:
Make a hardcore character, that should increase what loot you get.
doesn't the loot work on some 6-tier dice roll or some weird shit proportionate to how many players are actively in an area?
i don't get why i'm dumb, everything i said is true based on what the devs themselves have said
I don't see how playing a hardcore character will increase loot spawn. So a hardcore character has better loot spawn in their radius?
Anyone want to join up together? Starting a new character now. Did the servers go down? Their forums are down and I can't access the game either.
Man... Got what was coming to me. Went into a 0 player server and got into the back of the post office in clearview. Exit, join a 100 player server and see the gear of three players in the back of the office, take it and drop what ever was empty or almost empty. Wait in the back of the office watching the door because there are gunshots everywhere. Say in prox "Lets dance in the back of the post office". Instantly get shot from my left from across the street. Go into third person dead view and see my shooter popping in and out of the side of a building that he shouldn't be able to get to. Guess I got what I asked for joining a 100 player server. Also, go figure he was Russian. Didn't lose too much stuff. Just two large packs, light MVT, colt andaconda, a M4, and an mp5 along with food and meds. Oh well. Lesson learned, everyone in this game is a faggot.
i don't know if you guys know this yet, but XP influences how rare of weapons you find. my character has about 2,000 XP and M4s, AK74s, AA-12s, even the Sig Sauer 556, the rarest rifle in the game, seem to spawn around me like magic. like, literally wherever i go. not deleting your characters has value. right now i have 20 rows of guns in my Global Inventory :3
I hope that's not true, what a stupid design decision for a survival game.
So what do you guys think about the idea of adding vehicles to this game, I for one have spent a lot of time walking from one place to another; but there have been arguments against it "Map too small, gasoline would have evaporated, Realism." If you ask me they should be there but either practical or challenging to fix. (Gather car parts, siphon gas, Bicycle, motorbike, etc...) Also is the Colorado map finished or will it be added to? I'm finding a lot of places where it could be expanded.
