You can read "fake" in the first sentence "inspired by dayz" haha.
Small Update by Sergey:
Is it just me, or does this map look really small? Judging by the size of the trees in the foreground, compared to trees in the background, it looks at most like there is only 1km on view here, not the 11km he claims.
Am I the only one who remembers the website stating that "Each Zombie Game world has an area of up to 400 square kilometers.", the map in the picture is sure as hell not 400 square km or anywhere close. I have been really looking forward to this game, but if the map is only as large as this picture and the picture showing the three cities shows, I will be very disappointed.
-nvm already posted- I'd say it looks small because of the amount of trees and way the pic was taken. The map is also technically a little smaller than the map seen in Day Z.
Sergey also posted this: [editline]3rd September 2012[/editline] I'd say it looks small because of the amount of trees and way the pic was taken. What is this the redwood forest?
You can read "fake" in the first sentence "inspired by dayz" haha.
uh the devs actually said they were inspired by dayz
Didn't the devs say that they're replacing all the current trees with better quality trees? Let's hope that's why some of those trees are taller than those high rises.
I know Colorado has some tall trees, especially in those mountainous areas like that, but I'm pretty sure they're not 30 stories tall. I will admit to not knowing shit about trees except how terrifying it is when one's falling toward you. That and what a magnolia looks like.
It could be that the trees are fooling me, and I am comparing them to trees in Day Z. Yes, some of those trees are definitely over 100 feet tall, in comparison to those buildings.

Then I noticed something I thought was a rock or something and it turned out to be a full sized house.

What? There are mountains in front of the horizon, and the original post specifically said that they are the playable limits, so I have no idea what you are talking about...
[img_thumb]http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2012/247/9/2/war_z_map_explanation_by_livinbrain-d5dk0if.png[/img_thumb] It's not too big but it's not too small either. The tree sizes do bug me though.
One of the biggest things for me in FPS games is that shooting the guns feels solid and satisfying. The most satisfying gunplay I've seen is probably in Killing Floor. I just love the way the recoil feels on every weapon. Oh wow didn't realize I skipped a page, this is off topic now.
Will the servers still have the 250 player limit?
About the trees: Keep in mind that pine trees can get huge. Just tossing that out there.
Ones nearby towns rarely get very large. Only old growth pines become massive and generally those ones get logged off when towns get built.
About the trees: Keep in mind that pine trees can get huge. Just tossing that out there.
We have a shit ton of pine trees all around my state, especially around my city. None of them are 30 stories tall. Those things would be a gigantic hazard during any sort of bad weather.
I doubt it. They could probably survive a tornado with ease, considering how far into the ground the roots would be. Then again I'm arguing realistic semantics in a game about zombies.

Imagine the adrenaline rush as you're running to meet up with your friends on the other side of a zombie-infested city while a tornado is coming up from behind you.
that would be awesome actually forest fires
Isn't there a plan for special infected?
Isn't there a plan for special infected?
They've got plans for a rare, tough zombie that can have it's stem cells extracted to synthesis a cure/or sell of ingame coin. That's it though.

So, I tired War Inc, and holy balls, it's not a very good game. I mean, I love the ideas behind WarZ, but I just don't think they have the expertise or the manpower to execute on them. :|

Let's wait to see how it plays when the closed beta goes live.
