I'm actually kind of annoyed by the tacticoolness of the guns you can find.
I'd much rather scavenge and find an old double barrel, or a collector's M4 with maybe two different sights in a box nearby with ammo. But like, silencers, laser sights, foregrip, c-mag, etc...
Feels like too much. Especially a silencer. Where on earth are you gonna find a compatible silencer just lying around in the US where suppressors are outright banned?

VVVVV Oh okay good. I hope you'll never be able to find all those attachments in one life. VVVVV

It's a dev server. He's showing off the different attachments, and they've made loot plentiful for testing.
[editline]21st September 2012[/editline]
Here's some stuff from a preview.
Players will be able to create up to five characters and they can share items with each other through a global inventory slot. However, characters can only access the global inventory when near a safe settlement.
After clearing remote areas of zombies, players can opt to build over it to create safe settlements for themselves, their supplies, and their clan of friends. However, some players have exercised creativity in crafting their strongholds. Titov recounts a story of one of the game's testers building a gladiator arena around a player spawn point using wooden barricades. He would then lure a pair of zombies into the arena and wait for players to spawn in. Players that survived the arena battle would be welcomed into the clan with loot and cash.
Titov said running away would prove less useful in the final version of the game, as an endurance system will be fully implemented.
There is an experience point system, but it is used as a way to unlock gear, such as larger backpacks, different skills, or new character models.

Some new gameplay, well I think it hasn't been posted yet at least

Personally I'm still not very impressed, and the footstep sounds are horrible (though they might only be placeholders so w/e)
I cannot wait to play this.
Needs more sounds. Zombie's walking and mumbling, better footstep sounds, better jump sound from the player (Sounds like Turok: Evolution), and melee sounds. Maybe some ambient sound/music as well.
Still, it's a game I want to try out.

you can get suppressors in the US if you have a (i believe) class 3 license
so yes it would be possible to find them, very rare of course
also that video gave me a little hope back, i'll keep my eye on it, but i still have my doubts
why the hell the screen goes blue for a bit while placing a barricade?
I really wonder if this will be released in fall. Seems a bit too optimistic to me.
Looks like it needs a good amount of work, but it seems to have great potential.
A couple things that really aggravate me is the no sounds for certain things which im sure will be fixed, but just how much the character can carry. I mean 4 rifles, and all the attachments, and 3 melee weapons among food and water and other stuff is just really unrealistic, even with a backpack.

I feel bad. I freaked out when I misread 'mumbling' as 'masturbating'.
:(
New look at the city:

I hope there's lots of sounds and ambient music in the cities and stuff Looks like it could be alot of fun having like a safe house there

A lot of those attachments are actually ridiculously plentiful in the US. Silencers are absolutely not outright banned and in some states, there's no restriction at all on them. If I wanted to buy one in my state, I have to pay an extra $200 tax stamp and that's it. Some states don't even have that and I see silencers everywhere. Every gun store I've been to has at least one suppressed gun.
http://www.pcgamer.com/previews/the-war-z-preview/ I don't know if anyone's seen this yet. It actually got me pretty excited for this game. At least more interested, anyway.
zombie vocalizations and footstep effects haven’t been baked into the build yet
There may be hope yet. Also, noticed that these screens were never posted since FP collectively lost hope for the game after watching those 3 clips from IGN.

That city looks really tiny.
I hate the shadows of the War Inc. engine
Holy shit atleast use some kind of anti aliasing before taking screenshots! Looks like poop!
The zombies are too damn easy. They need to run at you if they're going to be like this, or atleast increase the numbers and range they can detect you at.

Well for most of the videos Sergey has been using a silencer and most of the locations he has been visiting wouldn't have very large populations, whereas raiding a city would be a more harrowing experience. I do agree that their perception should be increased in regards to sound.
I still want to try this game out, as it seems still pretty decent.
But there are a lot of things that they could do different. Though, I think I hate that attachment system the most.
I dont like the sprinting animation at all. And was that supposed to be a sprint? It hardly makes you run faster

The shooting/aiming looks awful.
Looks very arcadey
This game is going to benefit from the fact that it was designed from the ground up to be a survival game, which DayZ was not (given that it's a mod of a military sim), but beyond that I'm still not sure how good this game will be. Only time will tell as more information is released, I suppose. I feel like a lot of the gameplay videos don't do the game justice since you don't really see the survival aspect of it, just more of showing off the world and the fact that the controls are actually normal relative to ArmA2's system.
Oh cool... Shit actually spawns in cars!
I think the war z is going to be a easier game to jump into than dayz would be as dayz stands right now. The war z looks a lot simpler and easier to control and navigate inventroy and picking up items, easy enough to just start playing and know whats going on. Dayz on the other hand, since its using arma 2, has just a steep learning curve. The mod itself no, but you have to learn how the controls for arma 2 which, there is a lot of controls.
I'm mostly worried about killing other players
I hope it's not going to take 30 bullets to a player that's running around and repetitively jumping

The endurance system will wear them out.
That's not a satisfying answer, I think it's something I'll have to judge for myself when I play.
