Can someone please explain to me why everyone's hating on it? I am aware it's a bit clunky and some things don't work correctly but that's alpha. It looks incredibly fun and i do look forward to playing it.

However, to answer your question; Reading the first post takes less effort than posting a question and then coming back to it in the future to see if it's been answered.

The email I got said if you preorder, you get early access to the game, either starting at alpha or the later beta.
And if you preorder you be either $15 or $30 in game currency.
You preorder now, you get the game, but just early access.
The announcement trailer shows only the survivor and pioneer package, not the legendary one.
As for the preorder being only beta/alpha access and not the game, I'd like proof.

Exactly, you get a retail key to activate after you install the game and play alpha/beta/final version.
There are still talks whether the retail key will actually provide any steam coverage, if the game comes on steam.
Plus the chore to actually spend time emailing them back to convert the retail key into a steam key.

After I saw these gameplay videos I must say that I might buy this next week online to play the beta.
I think I'm gonna wait until the alpha comes out for those who bought those extra packs, hear about some first hand experiences whether it plays well and if it does I'll get the base pack pre-order.
To me, this just looks like a dev team trying to cash in on the zombie craze that has been going on lately. All of the sudden they appear, an unknown dev, with one game made (War Inc), which is quite shit and they claim this game has been in development for years, yet it looks like they started half a year ago. I dunno, this is all very fishy to me.
