Oh, so you mean this? [t]http://www.warzwiki.com/images/2/22/WarZ_Map2.jpg[/t] Those mountains are clearly the mapborder. The area will be very limited, and won't even come close to the Arma 2 225 km² Chernarus map. I'm not saying it's a bad thing to have things more focussed, but it also shows the engine limitations, which isn't quite what they promised in the first place.
Wow, ew, is that the main city, this just made me uncertain about this
fake game
I'm sorry, what? How is comparing DayZ with WarZ like comparing LoL with TF2? DayZ and WarZ are the same genre, the same base idea. LoL and TF2 are completely different genre's. You went a little overboard with the comparisons there.
Yeah i overdid it a bit. War Z tries to be more of an action game while Day Z is a hostile zombie simulation.
Yeah i overdid it a bit. And to be honest, they are totally useless, no threat at all, unless they warp around with their teleportation technology.

They went through some much tweaking and bugginess
Wow, ew, is that the main city, this just made me uncertain about this
It isn't.
Just seen the email. Think I'll make a gamble and buy it.
If all of this turned out to be fake wouldn't the developers get arrested for false advertisement?
If all of this turned out to be fake wouldn't the developers get arrested for false advertisement?
I can't believe people are still thinking this.
Who the hell said I thought it? I don't.
Who the hell said I thought it? I don't.
Then yes, it would seem logical that they would get arrested considering how much money they have received thus far.
I'm not sure if this video has been posted before, but here's some PvP gameplay. http://www.eurogamer.net/videos/the-war-z-pvp-gameplay-trailer
It certainly will get released in the near future but do not expect any miracles or a groundbreaking product. It will face some problems and be partly a dissapointing and I am uncertain if the quality will match up to the expectations and/or the promises. And to get this game into a final state that justifies the development time and the budget, it will be a long hard and very bumpy road for the devs. At the end, "The War Z" is nothing else than a mod. A mod for a free2play shooter that can cost you up to 50 bucks.
Thank god, I thought I was the only one who sees this being a complete flop. Everything coming from the developers sound fishy. They claim their team has experience but most of them have only worked on a few games from the 90s. They claim they had an offer from Sony to do a zombie game in 2010 which I highly doubt this. Hell, The guy behind this all was the producer of BIG RIGS: OVER THE ROAD RACING. They also completely ripped the Crysis Gun Attachment menu out. I saw it during one of the trailers. It's the same but the color is changed. Before you say "Your just hating this because you like DayZ..", I haven't even played DayZ.

I don't see whyy you guuys are getting picky about this game, it's not like there is a broad range of zombie survival games. With a large number of players too. Either you play DayZ with the eternal bugs that plague Arma's engine and the cheaters. Or you play WarZ with it's reused assests and gimicky gameplay. These both will have to hold us over until the next zombie game.
That's a very interesting way of looking at it.
It's an intelligent way of looking at it.
Just saying, 20 dollars is a very fair price for this game and it will honestly be perfectly decent if the developers continue to update the game after release.
Everything coming from the developers sound fishy.
I would like to know which statements sound fishy. Everything said so far hasn't triggered any alarms on my end. Maybe they did intentionally copy a lot from DayZ, but I don't care. I will enjoy its best aspects without the buggy engine and hackers. Bought the $19 pack, I'll only regret the purchase if the game is really awful. Even if it's a bit meh, I'm sure I'll have some fun.
It's an intelligent way of looking at it.
I suppose. The only thing that seems partially gimmicky at the moment imo is the marketplace, which I thought was only going to be accessible via an actual ingame settlement instead of using it before spawning in a server.

And who knows how vehicles will handle, if they even get implemented.
Eh, I don't like how it's lifted directly from Crysis 2, but it's functional at least.
I bought the pioneer package and got three 48 hour keys, if anybody wants them (so if you are iffy on buying the game, you can test it first).
It's an intelligent way of looking at it.
Not really. If the game turns out to be terrible but people are playing it only because it's one of the only few zombie survival games then something is definitely wrong. Players shouldn't have to stop caring about quality just because there's only a few choices to pick from.
Looked like COD - style gunfighting from the only gameplay video I've seen. Pretty disappointing.
I'd love to try it :D
Sure thing, I'll pm it to you, and I'm out now, sorry others.
