Plus, everyone pretty much needs to shut up until they play the game. It doesn't matter how well someone attacks/defends the game, it's still all speculation that's not based off of first hand experience.
When you're watching someone play DayZ, you can't tell that the movement and aiming is very 'unique' (I love DayZ as much as the next guy, but it handles like ass).
So, just chill out until you get the try the game for yourselves.

No worries, I also just bought the pioneer pack. I have three 48 hour keys that I would love to give out so people can test it before buying it.

Those mountains are clearly the mapborder. The area will be very limited, and won't even come close to the Arma 2 225 km² Chernarus map. I'm not saying it's a bad thing to have things more focussed, but it also shows the engine limitations, which isn't quite what they promised in the first place.
Keep in mind the trees are ridiculously large, if you have seen and gameplay videos. You can see the sizes of the houses compared. That road on the left is a four lane road. It is supposedly 150 square km.

Oh okay, thanks anyway!
If anyone else buys it I would love to try it!

PMed. I would love one!
I just gave out the last one.
Jesus Christ, this DayZ v WarZ business is like Apple v Samsung, nobody cares outside of fanboys, how many zombie films have we seen in the last 6 years? Dawn of the Dead, 28 Days, Severed the list goes on and on, The 'Zombie Apocalypse' is an OLD idea, it's been used a MILLION times.
I've played the guts out of DayZ since day one and I'll play the guts out of The WarZ too, all that should matter here is whether or not The WarZ is a good game and people enjoy it, I'm sick to death of seeing fanboys raging.
Do you have to PVP? I mean, first I thought you could play with friends against zombies but there is only PVP?
Not really. If the game turns out to be terrible but people are playing it only because it's one of the only few zombie survival games then something is definitely wrong.
Players shouldn't have to stop caring about quality just because there's only a few choices to pick from.
I get what you mean, but Dayz and WarZ aren't terrible games, ones a buggy mod on a engine that has issues, while the other is a 'mod' on medicore game and it's engine. I haven't played WarInc, but I doubt it's a broken game with no players.
There are other zombie surivial games to list too, but they have many different qualities. You have project zomboid that has many ideas people have waited for, but is played in a manner some will never enjoy. Dead Rising has mass zombies and mayhem but is limited to a small play area. GTA SA or the IV mods are interesting but lack many things people would want in due to limits of the game's themselves. And there is the new game, I forget the name, but it has many attributes people look for, but no online, at least until the next one is made.
Basically, you may think it's an awful game not worthy of playing, but many people will enjoy this throughly.
All the zombie games have something people like and parts people hate. No perfect zombie game will exist if people can't decide on if zombies should be able to run, or if a bite means a sealed fate.
In the mean time, you may enjoy what's out there, or learn to make your perfect game.
Can someone answer my question?

I never said the game was going to be terrible...? I was only talking about if it did turn out to be terrible. I don't see how you know ahead of time it won't be terrible, though, since we have little to no actual non-scripted gameplay footage.
Also, you can't really compare Project Zomboid and Dead Rising to DayZ/WarZ since they aren't even close in terms of gameplay. Project zomboid isn't about competing over resources with other players and Dead Rising is a story driven game with missions that are hardly about survival (yes you are fighting to survive, but only within the confines of the story). A large part of the appeal to DayZ was the immersion, and you aren't going to get a similar feeling with Project Zomboid or Dead Rising.
The zombie mods for the GTA series are simply shoot em up reskins that don't have much beyond that.
Players have a right to criticize the game if they don't like what's being done with it, and I still hold my stance that just because there aren't many other games like it doesn't mean players should simply bend over and take it.
Do you have to PVP? I mean, first I thought you could play with friends against zombies but there is only PVP?
PvP will only occur if either party decides to be aggressive. There's nothing in the game forcing you to kill other players and you could run around and be passive with some friends only killing zombies and gathering loot. Don't be too upset if you get shot at by another player, though.

Many gameplay videos have been released with only 3 of them having been actually scripted if only to show possible social interactions you could encounter whilst playing.

I have no doubt in their ability to make zombies/loot, but a lot of players are going to be coming to the game due to the player interactions/pvp. I guess what I meant to say by non-scripted footage would be of players actually encountering others and seeing how that turns out. If they screw up PvP combat or how players can interact with each other outside of combat, then the game is pretty much destined to fail.
I'm neutral to the game and I'm waiting for the alpha/beta to roll around to see what people think about it, but I don't know why people are having issues with others criticizing certain aspects of the game they don't like.
Text stuff
I wasn't comparing those zombies games by gameplay. DayZ and WarZ won't have similar gameplay, DayZ plays like a stiff simulator and WarZ looks like it will play like a simple FPS/TPS game. DayZ isn't forgiving in combat and always felt a bit stiff when I played. WarZ looks like it be easier for a bigger audience to play.
I was comparing these games on the theme they have. Zombie apocalypse. All of them have zombies in some modern world. In most of them you need to survive by doing certain things and gather people or resources. Project Zomboid You fight against NPCs, both human and Zombies, to survive, you need food and items to make it through the night. Dead rising, you can save survivors and gather items to get to the ending and have a better one. DayZ you can go alone and disregard guns and resources, but chances are, you'll die quickly. In the GTA IV you could get survivors to help.
You need to do something in each game to survive the zombie apocalypse you are living in. I play them because they are Zombie surival, you can play them for gameplay.
And you can critize this game if you want. But in no way am I suggesting people to just play it and accept it for being whatever it becomes. If it turns out to be shit, don't play it, but to me, even if it is shit, it has some qualities in a zombie survival game I want to see and try out. So I plan to play it regardless.

because people get lost in their hopes that a game will be amazing and fill that special spot (especially with a zombie survival game), so they get mad and try to dismiss any claims that the game could not be perfect
Alright so i havent been following this game at all after the pax videos of the guy waving his dick off the overpass "communicating" Convince me to buy the game since i kind of wanna get the 50$ version.

It's best if you decide on your own. Considering the how mixed people's reactions are about the game.
There are tons of things people love, while others don't like at all.

This isn't about people not being able to handle criticizers, more of people trying to defend a game they enjoy, or hope to enjoy, by coming back with a counter.
I haven't seen anyone come in here, make thought out remarks about the game, and have everyone rage and cry about the remarks. We've had some people come here and say stupid things like, "WarZ < DayZ" or "game is scam". If anything, some criticizers can't handle criticisms.
Alright then can someone link me to all of the videos out besides that overpass one

EDIT:
Oh god, I just realized, with the type your own note, people are going to be leaving so many 'ur a faget' notes in WarZ.
Is there voip?

Oh fuck. I hope that you can make an IED out of the time capsule.
Is there voip?

Unfortunately not on launch.
Funny thing, people on the forums were arguing against VOIP. Usually for some absurd reasoning, such as kids screaming.
Not like a bullet couldn't solve that.

Hearing some random kid start squeaking or some idiot trolling on mic in the middle of the game would kinda ruin the immersion and atmosphere, so I can kinda see where they're coming from
Can someone answer my question?
If you're not willing to shoot other players or don't want to be shot by other players then this really isn't the game for you.
The PvP is over half the experience.

If they did the VOIP right, it'd be only local VOIP, as in you have to be close to them.
So if I heard a kid screaming, he'd be an easy target to take out. It's not like you are being forced to keep listening to them.
However, I could see how it'd break the immersion at times.

I'd rather have immersion breaking moments than rage inducing ones where I'm typing "Put down your weap-" as a bandit guns me down.

Well, they already have a local sounds.
You can't even hear gunshots from 10 meters away.
Even though it could break immersion, the zombies would chase the noisy kid, and then eat him, you won't hear from them in a day or two. And you get a chance to move past zombies.
Unfortunately not on launch.
No VOIP on launch? I see they are as competent as DICE is. VOIP should be a priority, are they retarded?
