I think for the purposes of showing off the environment they turned off the zombies.
what are the system requirements? I tried going on their website but their FAQ isn't working or something.
what are the system requirements? I tried going on their website but their FAQ isn't working or something.
Just try running WarInc on steam, it uses the same engine so I'd imagine they're the same.
This seriously needs a huge zombie overhaul. It looks so terribly empty. Fill those towns up with tens of zombies, and it'll be complete.
there were probably no zombies in the fly through because they weren't showing off the zombies. just the enviroments.
All the gameplay vids lack zombies too though.
There was a video of a guy who went into town and killed some zombies before being flanked and dying. There were a good number of zombies in that video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ZO5Q97BRIYo Not to mention, I would bet the zombie spawns and numbers are lowered because they're to account for 1 player. I'm sure when the game goes open alpha there'll be much more zombies to accommodate for the rising player numbers.
There were zombies in the video, just very few.
One thing I worry about in the videos is how the basically show video from the same location. I guess they might be trying to with hold how the whole world looks, but almost every video is in the same town. I hope that's not the only place people will be going to, on each server.

I'm loving the looks of those empty roads.
So exactly how big is 400 square kilometers...?
I'm retarded, 400Km^2 is about the size of Barbados. [editline]9th October 2012[/editline] Twice the size of Skyrim and of the DayZ map. I don't know man, i have enough trouble with 50 players on DayZ. For reference, it's 255km^2. So, more or less half the size.

You seemed positive earlier...
Slightly off topic, but it's interesting to see how the genre of MMO has expanded. MMO basically used to be shorthand for MMORPG because we didn't have MMO shooters, unlike, well, now. Just makes me wonder if the future of MMOs could entail something like this, WarZ, being mainstream. Or like Skyrim with +100 players. That is, an RPG with a default first-person perspective, locked narrative, minimal HUD, immersive features, player freedom, etc. Less scripts, macros, and button-mashing commands, more trading, exploring, and adventuring. (Skyrim with +100 players in the world would be sick. and no, TES: Online is not what that would be like.)
I hope this has a dynamic weather system, pretty sure it already has a day/night cycle but weathers would be awesome.

Alright, I have a spare guest key, if anyone wants it PM me and why you want it.
really, really excited for this. Ino a lot of people are very much on the fence, but playing DayZ from early stages where running into doors could kill you and STILL having a shit ton of fun, I'm pumped for this, more than I have been for most titles of 2012 imo aslong as I've got a group of friends playing then I'll play this even if it's fucking horrible and having the walking dead season 3 the night before will put me in the mood for zombies
You sure it isn't about 3 times the size of Earth's land? You seemed positive earlier...
3.5*, i dunno why i read it as 400 million sqaure kilometers. Weird.
If anyone has a spare guest key I would gladly take it so I could try out the game before I buy it.
the gunplay looks really sluggish, like the way you move the gun around and shoot it.
the gunplay looks really sluggish, like the way you move the gun around and shoot it.
If this is sluggish... ...describe ArmA to me :v:
If this is sluggish... ...describe ArmA to me :v:
honestly ArmA's gunplay is better than this looks like.
If this is sluggish... ...describe ArmA to me :v:
are you actually insulting the gunplay of one of the most realistic military simulators on the market? what are you doing
are you actually insulting the gunplay of one of the most realistic military simulators on the market? what are you doing
Uhh gameplay in arma is sluggish as hell, that's a fact.
Uhh gameplay in arma is sluggish as hell, that's a fact.
Yeah agreed.
are you actually insulting the gunplay of one of the most realistic military simulators on the market? what are you doing
in the time it took to learn how to jump over a fence my friends completed half a mission arma has awful controls
in the time it took to learn how to jump over a fence my friends completed half a mission arma has awful controls
Gunplay, not gameplay
in the time it took to learn how to jump over a fence my friends completed half a mission arma has awful controls
It has controls that are designed to mimic real life, guns that are actually part of your model and can get stuck on things, bullets that fire from middle of the gun. It works fine as a military simulator, because that's its intended purpose it's hardly the games fault that you didn't bother looking at the controls (v) [editline]9th October 2012[/editline] Also IMO the feature of being able to look around with your head while moving forwards is one that every semi-realistic game should have
