Guest keys are different from the alpha pre-order key's.
Guest keys are only redeemable after the 31'st at the start of the beta, they also only last for 48 hours.

If any of you have an older hard drive and you get into this game early, could you tell me if you have any issues with the game? I have a hard drive on my windows operating system that's about 8 years old and whenever I try to run a game that has rather large levels/map I get really annoying issues.

You don't - you have to pre-order by 20th October, but you can't use the guest key until the 30th (the Beta). It's really total shambles, all you can do is watch leaked gameplay of the alpha.
