DZS is still wonderful though, albeit much less populated as DayZ, and will probably die once The War Z comes out
Still had some great moments from what I saw, with the two guys walking through the pitch black forest full of zombies.

I hated DZS. Run around for hours seeing nothing. Go to down, find a car. Drive around for a few minutes, run out of gas. Repeat. No goals, no adventure, no nothing.
I sort of wish this game would not be compared to DayZ all the time... I understand it obviously will, as they are both zombie sandbox mmo things, but I wish people would think of this as something "new", as in they willl be open to the things that are there, instead of thinking "Hmm, I liked that in DayZ something is this way, so I don't think that doing it differently here is good", they would judge the new ideas individually, instead of simply comparing it to how things are in DayZ...
Once this game is released nobody will compare it anymore.. it haves so much (from the description) that Dayz does not have and will not have for atleast another year. Let people compare it, that raises eyebrows and many people will talk about it and as soon as it gets released everyone will be over the war z.
I'm not one for MMOs, but the payment model these guys are using is just a dream come true to me. I'm not one for Zombies, but the massive world and focus on survival is just irresistible. I hope the character customization is appropriately in-depth, and I hope the gear you can get looks good. But other than that, I am so damn excited for this game!
Diary journal entry #22 We lost track of the days now.. Our only hope is that the military will come back. They said they would. We believed them, we believed all of it. My wife is horribly sick and we've run out of water. If anyone finds this, DONT go back to the city. Were gonna head south, we heard its better there.. I just hope my wife has enough time. ------------------------------- Diary journal entry #35 My supplies has run out. I'm out of ammo and food. It hurts so badly. They.. they just grabbed her.. This is my final entry. Ive lost all hope. I just want to be together with my bonnie. If your reading this, take my gun. Do what i did.
I hope there are a lot of enterable buildings so I can chill out and survive instead of constantly running.
I remember some old abonded zombie game where they said that if you were holding up somewhere for a long time that the zone you are in would become more and more infested with zombies so it doesn't become very stale while hiding. Really liked that idea
Ill start posting notes: "If you can read this, i'm trying to aim for your head"
I have an idea: "Stay still so I can see your ass. Damn, it's nice."
Best note? "Ur a faget"
The War Z: Note collecting MMO
"Dark Souls ain't got nothin on this shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat" [editline]22nd July 2012[/editline]
The War Z: Note collecting MMO
The Facepunch Post-Apocalyptic Group Novel. Ft. a forward from Dan.
We should have a bunch of facepunchers go there and leave a bunch of notes for other facepunchers. "If you can read this, then you probably read the War Z thread on facepunch"
Fuck notes, give me walkie talkies that can be heard when you leave it somewhere and set it to a certain channel
"Beware the Black Beast of Aaaaaaaaauuuuuuuuugggggggghhhh..."
Hope there's a lot of room available on the notes, and it's not limited to just like 255 characters. I'd love to post Green's Stalker story ( http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1192340&p=36878005&viewfull=1#post36878005 ) around the map for people to find, even if I had to do it in 2-3 notes or so.
Imagine if there is a russian map, leaving notes around: Drank some vodka, twice as many zombies outside now. Going to play guitar and sing russian songs to pass the time.
"Thought I'd seen the last of this shit in Chernarus." "Guns don't kill people, I kill people, with guns." "Been stuck in these caves with this bitch in the red dress. Out of bombs and ropes. Crazy motherfucker running around outside with a shotgun. I think my hat-light's about to go out." "Dan was zombies." And other assorted bits of terrible humour, brought to you by way of the medium of the worlds finest note leaving simulator. In actuality I'd probably just leave grocery lists all over the place.

So when someone comes around they see a body there with the half finished note. Would be sick
bob i'm sure you're already thinking up all sorts of trick and kill people, you evil bastard
"Zed's dead, baby, Zed's dead!" Also going to leave a motorcycle/chopper (If those vehicles are in the game) next to the note.

I don't know what you guys are talking about, in the beta rolls around we should all play together for [del]testing my ideas[/del] the enjoyment of playing as a group :v: I wonder if you can enter Safe Zones if your a bandit or can shoot other people in there, I can't imagine my self being welcomed in haha

You need some supplies from the safe zones, want to check the bounty on your head, or have some excess loot nobody needs? Ask your civilian friends to go into the safe zone for you, tell them what you want. They can sell the loot, buy food and check your bounty. All the perks of civilian life, with all the fun of sniping people! Only problem is, eventually people will catch on unless your civilian friend is careful about it. So they may end up a target.

My notes: Itchy...Tasty.
Cant tell if this meant having a second account or an eleborate plan involving waiting by the trees for some guy your blackmailing to sell your shit.
Blackmailing? No. Offering a share of the loot? Yes. You don't even necessarily have to meet up with that specific guy, if you have multiple civilians in your group. If you end up concerned enough about trackers, you could rotate out who goes into the safe zone, and have them head back out in a "random" direction, eventually meeting up with another of your civilians who "just so happens" to be out there, they trade the gear and go their separate ways. If you maintained 3+ camps/groups, one for the bandits and the rest for the civilians, you could have the bandits "sneak in" to the camp's supply stash and "steal" the supplies while everyone was distracted or offline or whatever. You could spread the supplies out or just randomly pick what group gets them, then make sure to leave some excess loot after you take the stuff that was bought. It's all simple track covering/frontman stuff. Very effective, if your civilians and bandits work it right. [editline]23rd July 2012[/editline] Actually now that I've laid all this out, I'll be disappointed if being a bandit just means whoever drops you doesn't become one. Because having to have frontmen go into the safe zone for you would be an awesome dynamic, and I'd love to be a part of a group like that.
well they said when you shoot someone in a safe zone you get a bad reputation and the npcs will attack you, so i'd assume what they mean by bad reputation is that npcs will auto attack you
Thats neat actually, in DayZ being a huge bandit or murderer did nothing, in this it's hmmmm either be an outlaw who is going to be shot on sight or not kill people so I can earn money and be safe in town [sp]though only pussies go for the later[/sp] as in Dayz you more likely wanted to be by your self in the middle of no where and had a reason to murder everyone but now there is downsides. dammit beta start already. Being an outlaw sounds actually fun and dangerous and being a normal survivor sounds safe, it's perfect.
