400 more and you can buy a computer that'd probably be capable of running it on at least medium if you can't make your own. If you get a $10 an hour job and work 3-4 hours 2 to 3 times a week you'll be there in no time. Then you enjoy the true glory of 64 person multiplayer.
I dont care about 64 p multiplayer. As long as i have the game then im fine.

Anyway guys, what's everyone's opinion on what sys requirements will BF3 have?

How much was your ps3 when you first got it?
The new trailer in 1080p, enjoy. Embed in 720p, but click through to youtube and dial to 11 .

Holy shit. I mean, the trailer was nice and all, but those WASD prompts, even if they;re from a quicktime event, make me very happy. It'[s not often that you get a game trailer recorded on a PC, even though it would be the best choice, so this really reaffirms my faith in DICE. Also:
'I'm up.'
'I'm up.'
'I'm up.'
'I'm fucked up, but I'm up.'
awesome
Any info on how to get in the beta if you didn't preorder MoH?
lol
who the hell preordered, no, who the hell even bought MoH
Or the CoD way:
'I'm fucking up!'
'Tango four Oscar delta!'
'Johnson, flank tango military gibberish'
'Foreign word repeated twice by enemy'

I got the new flat one. It was 299.

Rich people who bought it just for BF3 beta.
I don't know if it's just me, but the enemy sounds sound exactly like the ones used in MoH MP, also developed by DICE. I know it's probably the same language and all, but it just irks me a little that they reused it.
Everything looks super saturated. I don't like it.

Your a lost cause; you should care about the features you won't have (and the ones you will have) depending on what system you choose the buy the game on. Even if you have no choice in the matter, you should still care.

I didn't notice, but they could just be temporary sounds.
I really shouldn't be nitpicking on this, but I just get so aggravated when it happens;

Hmm, Pay $60 for slightly less features, but mostly the same game, or about $600+ for a new PC + the game for a high player count.
Oh gee the choices.
He's got a point, I don't mind the less players, all I really care about are the graphics. I'm gonna try out the beta and decide if it's worth buying a new PC for it.
I'm going to laugh maniacally when console BF3 turns out to be like Battlefield: Modern Combat was in comparison to BF2.

I think he meant the *noun* to represent something in your possession.
e.g Your bike. Bike is a noun.

64 player battles are great stuff. I just got out of a Battlefield 2 server that allowed 64 players. Map was Dragon Valley. There was only one point left on the bottom right most corner of the map, and there were swarms of APC's and jets overhead, zooming by as everything exploded in a seconds interval. Medpacks and ammo kits lying everywhere, and sometimes people complaining about getting spawn raped.
The thought of that, plus destructible buildings and intense graphics in Battlefield 3 makes me wet.

+ night time. Can you imagine 64p on a nightmap? With all the flashes and lights, combined with DICE's new radiosity thing.

It would be truly epic. With a deferred lighting engine, you can have hundreds of light-sources. Imagine: Every tracer, a light-source, every muzzle flash, a shadow casting light-source, vehicle headlights explosions. Everything :fappery:

definitely looking good, I have no gripes with the visuals or movements, but honestly, why does this need singleplayer?
I enjoyed the days when the game was exclusively multiplayer :saddowns: That's assuming that there's actually singelplayer and thats not just a tech demonstration or something. But really, Battleifled 2 was a sandbox arcade shooter through and through, the environment was intensive but non-serious, no drama, just gameplay. It's going to be hard to have the game like that with all the focus on singleplayer.
This is the first time I remember being this excited for a video game in a long time its like im 12 all over again.

I remember the days when it was pure multiplayer but you could still play EVERY map with bots and still
have fun.

Not sure if thats for my post or against it, either way; yes that was fun too. But bots serve the purpose of filling in the role for other players.
Really if you want the "kill all the dirty russians/nazis/terrorists" then there should be a coop mode. Me and a buddy frequently play FH2 coop, and holy hell it's fun. You get waves of bots rushing at you through open fields blasting away from the hip; its generally a 1:3 ratio so it's all quit cinematic. *Story Driven* Singleplayer doesn't seem battlefield-esqu and I don't think it ever will, if anything it's probably going to detract from the multiplayer experience.
[editline]3rd March 2011[/editline]
That that could have been scripted, I sure as hell hope it wasn't. Explosions need to take players off their feet. It is kind of their purpose in real life (other than causing a large amount of damage). Explosions are good for disorienting and disabling enemies. Games never get it right though, screen blur and buzzing a explosions does not make.
With all due respect when was battlefield about mimicking real life?
Explosions don't really take you off your feet. If you get hit by a shockwave powerful enough to take you off your feet, your lungs would probably be ruptured and your eardrums would have burst. That's actually the prupose of explosions, to cause internal damage through the shockwave; or to simply blow people apart. Nobody really gets blown backwards by explosions, and if you do then you're probably dead before you hit the ground again. I suppose if they are trying to be cinematic then that's a different story, but yeah getting blown back =/= realism.
I don't see why single player is a bad thing. It doesn't affect Multiplayer in any way because the BF3 team is large and I consider SP as a bonus, which is a good thing.

It doesn't matter how large the BF3 team is, it matters how large it is in comparison to BF2. More assets will need to get made for the singleplayer, wheras if it was MP only all the developers could work towards making a hefty multiplayer experience.
