The Singleplayer looks exactly like BC/BC2 only with the ability to drag your wounded squadmates, with some Medal of Honor aspects sprinkled in
Singleplayer isn't what we're really after with an actual PC driven Battlefield sequel though, it's all about the multiplayer baby
From the gameplay video it looks like COD with shaky camera effects
Shakey camera? Are you thinking of the blur effects, because it's a very long time since I remember a game with such a still camera (to create the illusion of eye perception)
Other then that, I don't see how this looks like CoD the least. The only similarities the game have are that they're both first person shooters and that MW takes place in the middle east as well.
Now, keep in mind that this game is supposed to follow its roots, Battlefield 2, which took place in the middle east. Also keep in mind it was one of the first if not the very first middle eastern FPS game out there.
The two series aren't comparable, at least not at this stage. Obviously which is better is a matter of opinion, but that's an opinion hard to cast because these games are very foreign to each other.
The CoD series focuses on fast paced multiplayer madness action with a linear story.
The new Battlefield game focuses on tactical, open-world battles of huge proportions with vehicles, destruction and it's much slower paced, probably more comparable to a simulator then any game CoD has ever attempted.

Keep in mind they didn't use the same engine but wrote it all from scratch. Bad Company 2 looked really good and I'm glad they kept it, only with more realism and sexy lighting.
Yeah there's not a lot of headbob either, which is nice because think about it. Look at the word monitor here, Focus on it, now move your head around.... It stays centered... Your eyes are like the gun of a fucking M1 Abrams
What I love is how the eyes look forward despite the head changing angle, really nice touch.

The singleplayer wasn't bad, But it looks the same as before to me. Only they took the best parts of BC2 and the best parts of Medal of Honor and combined them... MoH had far more realistic postures and animations on the characters, and Bad Company 2 just has a unique feeling to it... It's hard to put your finger on it but you can just feel the difference from other games
I think this will be even better than Battlefield 2. What I'm afraid of is that it may attract COD fanboys, that know nothing about teamwork.
I think this will be even better than Battlefield 2. What I'm afraid of is that it may attract COD fanboys, that know nothing about teamwork.
That's not CoD's fault. That's just this generation's of children suffering through education budget cuts and not doing that Parachute Team Work Skills Building thing in gym
Well hopefully they'll just pick it up for the console.
I saw iron sights on top of the scope in the gameplay video.
I'm pretty sure you won't be able to use them, so why should you include those?

Of course you'll be able to use them, Battlefield 2 brought them in as a new feature for BF and have kept it ever since

And by their lack of knowledge of teamwork, they will start cussing their teammates with the word "noob", and saying "noob-game" all day long.

I didn't play BF2, so I couldn't tell.
But they aren't in Bad Company nor Bad Company 2.
And BF3 will be released on consoles as well.
Iron Sights are in BC and BC2 though... and I just re-read your post, nevermind, you mean on the actual attachments like the ACOG. Yeah in that case you're probably right, although, the new Red Orchestra is doing something similar... Able to use the iron sights even though you have a scope on the rifle, Would be a nice thing to have in Battlefield to be honest. The ACOG in BC2 zooms in quite a bite, and obstructs a lot of the screen, it would also be nice to be able to use any Iron Sights for closer ranges and swap between the two
nvm
Alright so, gearing up to wanting to play BF3 I decided I would go back to BF2.
I had a account from a long time ago with pretty much all the weapons on it. So I went in, spawned, luckily it was the first round of the first map.
It was either rush to the jets, helicopters, or sit tight in a blackhawk. I didn't get the jet or helicopter, so I went into the blackhawk. We flew pretty high then we dropped off at our designated target.
I took out my PKM and hit the ground, crouching down to avoid Claymores, like in BC2. I go around a corner, PFFFFF boom, dead. I raged a little, spawning back into the helicopter I retried, he was at a different location now. I again, took out my PKM as the support class. I saw a target a little distance away and started to fire in single bursts, do du du, a couple hits! I was astonished! Then he started hopping around like a maniac throwing down his medkits. Next thing I knew he was facing me, spraying from the hip. I was dead in a few seconds.
Okay.. Okay.. Maybe I'm just having bad luck. So I spawn on the carrier, I look around and see dozens of people waiting for a possibility at the jet or helicopter. Meanwhile we have a couple of flags that could help us win if they spawn and take advantage of it. As well as the Commander, I do not know what he was doing, last I checked he was dwiddling with his finger up his ass.
So I figure, what the hell, might as well take my chances with the jet. It spawns, I get it, miraculously. What's that he's putting on my jet? OH FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUU- and I died from a teamkiller who was obviously not impressed that I got his jet. Fair enough I stated to myself, I respawned and took my chances with the helicopter.
Somehow I got lucky on that, I was the pilot! I started to sway and yaw around, gaining speed and dodging under bridges. Target locked onto me!? Oh gosh! Deploy flares! Phew, flares deployed, target isn't locked on me. FFFFFFFEEWWWPSHHHH OH GOD I GOT HIT?!?! FFFFFFFFUUUUUUCKKKK BARREL ROLL AND PITCH BACK TO GROUND, EVASIVE MANEUV- I'm already dead.
That is when I decided that Battlefield 3 should be nothing like BF2. If it is, I will probably buy it, and whip my balls with a bamboo stick one time.

Sounds awesome. :)
Mh.
IN BF3, try to crash into a heli or another jet. Would be funny.
I have a feeling the first time any one of us flies anything we'll all crash it intentionally.
As long as I get a kill, I will be more than happy to crash it intentionally.

If I remotely get the system powerful enough to play Battlefield 3, I will be doing nothing but looking at the amazing graphics that I can play with. I've never been able to play a game with decent graphics. Sad really. Some day.

I barely ever see anyone in BF2 doing anything remotely like teamwork.

Indeed, I preordered Rage for 30€ (euros, not pounds) on... It was zavvi, I think.

Yeah it is ridiculous. And to think that I thought "Oh nice, it is a bit cheaper than usual."
