I prefer having actual game boxes, it feels nicer.
That depends. I would love to have a whole bunch of nice goodies that come with the box. Like a collectors edition.
I might actually upgrade my PC for this. I don't know if I'm going to even want to play this on consoles knowing how much better the PC version is going to be.
Has this games system requirements been released yet? and if so how do they compare to the requirements of Crysis 2
its probably been asked already, but is bf3 going to have all destructible terrain like in bfbc2? its p much the only reason i play it. [editline]5th March 2011[/editline] The game features a destructible environment. and there we go.
Did you guys see the crater destruction in BF3? It's amaaaazing.
no so why dont you show us bro
I really wish BF3 gets an Onslaught mode as DLC since they said it won't have bots. :frown:
Digital copy: Doesn't break, doesn't get lost, doesn't mess up the color scheme of my room. [editline]5th March 2011[/editline] And costs half as much.
Here it's £10 more than a physical copy. Also my internet is too horrific to download games.
no so why dont you show us bro
1:45-1:50 If that's dynamic then I'll hug Dice.
I do want a physical copy, but i still want to pay 40$ instead of 90$.
1:45-1:50 If that's dynamic then I'll hug Dice.
Probably not dynamic, but I wouldn't be surprised.
Maaaan, if it is... Oh maaaaaaan... Manana!
Are you talking about the dust being blown from helicopter? Because that's all that happens at 1:45 - 1:50. Besides him jumping in to a crater.
I think they would have said something about it, but maybe! [editline]5th March 2011[/editline] read his previous post
I'm really hoping DICE gives this one a Vietnam expansion too. I don't care if they've done it already for their two other games, I just love the setting and DICE knows how to pull it off brilliantly, even more so using the new engine that BF3 will use.
I've been kind of hoping for some type of WWII expansion.
Are you talking about the dust being blown from helicopter? Because that's all that happens at 1:45 - 1:50.
1:45-1:50 If that's dynamic then I'll hug Dice.
As much as I'd love it to be like that, I'll eat my pubes if it is.
I have good download speeds, but steam is always more expensive than internet retailers who just post the game to you, and you get a nice box too. I usually only use steam to buy something when it's a gift, there's a sale, or it's a Steam exclusive.
Not getting a physical copy? You really want to miss out on that sexy cover? :colbert:
It can take weeks to BF3 to hit retail stores here. Besides i will be in army at the time BF3 releases.
As much as I'd love it to be like that, I'll eat my pubes if it is.
:toxx: You sure about this?
As much as I'd love it to be like that, I'll eat my pubes if it is.
Why so certain? It's not the biggest challenge they've ever had.
I think destruction should be toggleable but enabled by default.
Why are there no headcrabs in the air vents?
Id like craters and the like, but maybe smaller. Having the map covered in holes that big would make gameplay a bit annoying imo
Why so certain? It's not the biggest challenge they've ever had.
That's extremely difficult to calculate accurately during online play, and there's not much point to having it calculated during singleplayer since it probably happens during a scripted event.
That's extremely difficult to calculate accurately during online play.
I'd rather have them just leave it out as opposed to making the entire ground the same pre-generated damage system.. like the walls in bad company
Do you guys think it's worth buying the new Medal of Honor just to play the BF3 beta?
Nope, knowing Dice a "closed" beta comes with an extra "exclusive" 5,000,000 keys that will be given out a day after the MoH only beta starts.
I'd rather have them just leave it out as opposed to making the entire ground the same pre-generated damage system.. like the walls in bad company
I'm hoping they do it like the fractured meshes in Unreal 3. basically it takes the model, generates a "fracture pattern" then slices up the fracture pattern based on the collision geometry of the model. You wind up with a wall that falls a part into randomly sized chunks based on the "supporting chunks".. it's really cool. [editline]5th March 2011[/editline] Oh wait, I thought you meant the building collapsing :rolleye: Still, it's probably not truly dynamic. The crater could be "dynamic" in a sense. They might just have a bunch of crater models, and whenever you blow a hole in the ground it morphs the terrain and adds the jagged edges model. Depends if that road is just painted onto the terrain, or if it's a concrete model.
:toxx: You sure about this?
Yup, and I really don't want to eat my pubes so I really don't believe it will be in.
Why so certain? It's not the biggest challenge they've ever had.
If you look at how the asphalt cracks and twists and how everything looks very "real", it would require a huge processing power to calculate that in real time, let alone calculate 10 of those at the same time in a 64 player online match all while calculating everything else too. They could just have that a big enough explosion sinks the height-map and the crater is a 3D model placed in the lowered height-map, but then it's not dynamic so I won't have to eat my pubes luckily.
