Before playing multiplayer, DICE should make it so you must watch an un-skip-able video AND you must go through a series of tutorials, just to make it so there won't be as much wookies and idiots out on the battle-field.
they should add a silly arcade-like gamemode where you are given an arsenal of explosives, and the person who blows the most shit up in a time-span wins.
I rated you, but now my Paypal got charged! :smith:
That's actually a good idea!

This, although I promise you there will be people Alt+F4'ing it and spending 30+ minutes googling how to delete the video instead of just watch the 4 minutes

I doubt the game is going to have a ghillie suit sniper, though I'm just being rainbow. I hope it's more like a marksman with just a regular combat uniform.
And I also hope sniper is just as fucking difficult as it is in the old battlefield games, so we get more players involved with non-sniping...
They need to make a tutorial in the game that you need to pass to be able to fly jets/helicopters in the game. This would prevent so many suicides by annoying idiots that cant fly.

Sniping wasn't hard in old battlefield games because it required skill. It was hard because the only time you can tell the hit-detection is so bad is when you can only fire 1 shot at a time. You fire a 3 round burst and miss - you assume it's because he was moving, spray, and recoil. You fire 1 exact accurate shot knowing it should have hit - you miss.
People complain about hit-detection being bad in BC2. And yeah, sometimes it had it's problems. But I think in BF2 and 2142 it was tremendously worse.
D, all of the above.
And call it BF3 Multiplayer? :v:

Use some of those cool DRM tech on this.
"Sorry, we detected you did not watch the tutorial video. You can not play the game yet. Please proceed with watching the tutorial."
"No tutorial play-through is detected on this account. You must play the tutorial before starting multiplayer mode."
On BC2, not a lot of people knew how to pilot a chopper, and when they did, oh god. They won't even last 1 minute flying without crashing, it makes the battlefield look stupid. Also I hope they fix how the chopper touches something and goes crazy before exploding 30 seconds later after crashing.

And then there's that one squad that just annihilates everything with the Blackhawk that for some reason, is always on the other team.

I was doing some solo huey runs in Vietnam, landed my chopper to repair it, just sittin there at base repairin' out of everyones way... A guy runs up and gets in, and flies off before im even finished repairing it. I watch him fly off, and he jumps out of the helicopter to get to point B, which isnt very fucking far anyway.
People are idiots.
The only time I've won a round as an attacker on Valiparaso (sp?) was a round where I jumped in the Black Hawk with one gunner and kept both of us in the air the entire game.
On the last two objectives I hovered near the entrance and kept the corner of my view facing the objectives so my gunner and I both had a view of the buildings.
Someone was incredibly pissed at me. The same guy would jump on a roof with an RPG7 and fire at me every time he spawned. Every time he did this I would lower the chopper about 10 feet and have it go over me and then my gunner would take him out.
My gunner ended up 21/0 and I was 0/0. Most fun game ever.
My friend got a marksman headshot on Valpraiso.
From my Blackhawk
WiC had some amazing aspects for a 2007 game. None of them were ever seen again until BF3... Pretty sad how a game that was so amazing just didn't make a bang loud enough.
The lack of Marketing support on Seirra's part is the reason that game didn't make a big splash.
Shame too, it was a great game,
I spent many hours playing it.
In terms of nade spam and claymore spam, how does BF2142 compare to BF2?

And the fact that the game was rolled under by the Activision-Blizzard business screwup. World in Conflict is probably my favorite game which can be defined as an "RTS" by the layman in these past 10 years.

Less, though a bigger problem is the rifle rocket spam.
Dice is actually the first developer that had the balls to do a futuristic spin-off and pull it off perfectly.
I should reinstall it and play a round or two.

What a nostalgia high
I want to get 2142, but I'm too lazy to get it off of amazon and still isnt out for steam yet
and this games will be released by the end of the year? perfect
Didn't World in Conflict has one such clever workaround?
WiF had some great looking craters (especially for a strategy game), but they were still just a 2D crater, a texture and a lowered heightmap (lowered at the center and raised at the edges for larger ones like nukes). The one in the BF3 video has three-dimensional cracked and twisted asphalt though, it's not just a texture.
I'm not saying that it's absolutely impossible (well, it is on consoles), but since it has to run on as many machines as possible (without sacrificing too much of course), I heavily doubt it will be in (I'm sure high-end computers could most probably do that in real time, but since it's a 3D terrain deformation that affects the environment, players and vehicles it can't be scaled down or up depending on the player's settings).

Yeah they really should. Like not being able to enter jets/helis/vehicles until you have completed the tutorial for it. Oh and they should be thorough, at least so that complete retards won't get through.
And then there's that one squad that just annihilates everything with the Blackhawk that for some reason, is always on the other team.
Hah, my friends and I used to play BC2 a lot, I was the terrible one and they were amazing. But the three of us would always take the chopper, and I would sit out the side repairing and firing rockets while they piloted and fired the big guns. It was mainly because our pilot was amazing. He could keep the helicopter perfectly still while we were firing and he could even dodge rockets. We made it pretty impossible for the other team to do anything.
I agree with the tutorial part for flying jets and helicopters, personally I can't fly for shit. I tried to train so hard in BC2, but the moment I need to make fast dodges or anything that isn't carefully thought out, I usually pitch too far and just crash the chopper :( Handling the side ways movement with a mouse feels so tricky and too sensitive (I don't have a mouse that can change sensitivity on the fly).
I've seen other people excel in flying choppers, so I know the problem is me :( I always feel a bit sad when I see these aces of the skies annihilating everything and I'm just stuck on the ground, getting killed by snipers all the time.. oh well. Here's waiting for the tutorials
When is BF3 coming to Steam?
Does anyone know?
Also I hope they fix how the chopper touches something and goes crazy before exploding 30 seconds later after crashing.
How would it be a fix? That's mostly how real choppers behave.
When your tail hits a tree at 75kmph, you're fucked. And you'll make nice little circles before crashing as well.
[editline]6th March 2011[/editline]
Also, I agree with tutorials on flying. Not that they should be mandatory either, but they should be there - and the game should propose them to you when you crash in your first few hours of playing.

No, what he means is in BC2 where helicopters can nose into the ground at a hundred miles and out, flip over, and flop about for like 15+ seconds before they actually explode from the damage.
It's to the point where people slamming helicopters into things is considered a valid strategy, because doing so won't crash it.
Oh, I didn't understand. My bad.
Yeah, the choppers are quite "bouncy" indeed in BC2.
Personally I've been wondering about if certain heavy vehicles like Jets, Tanks, Helis, and APC's, costed you tickets. Maybe that would stop people from being so wreckless with them.
It also solves the issue where you destroy a tank, only to have the crew bail before it explodes, leaving you with no reward for your work.
Of course rounds will end faster, but you counter-act that by adding more tickets.

Or you can just increase vehicle spawn times?
