One way to solve the big "Who should be allowed to use jets/choppers/tanks" question could similar to the way it works in Project Reality. DICE could simply add a sub-category for vehicle-kits, which allow a limited amount of pilot kits that are the only ones allowed to at least fly/drive the vehicle in question. The shooters could be pretty much anyone. These kits could also have some requirements (tutorials, stats etc.). Would be nice to see people running in pilot gear, entering choppers and jets and actually doing something useful with them!
Good idea. Would be pretty useless to select a pilot class, steal a jet, and parachute down to the enemy with just a lousy pistol. :v:

It's already annoying to spawn as an Engineer only to find someone just took the last Tank, or in this situation, spawn as Assault only to find there is a Tank, but now it's too late and you can't use it.
I'm kinda worried about this game, I'm sure the vehicles will be great, DICE has always done a fantastic Job with them, but the gunplay so far looks a little..... CoDish :/
I just mean it doesn't look like the guns have much recoil to them, the M4 in that one gameplay video hardly moves when he shoots it.
The recoil looks perfect. BF2 didn't have much recoil either. Recoil in 1942? Practically non-existent.
How would it be a fix? That's mostly how real choppers behave. When your tail hits a tree at 75kmph, you're fucked. And you'll make nice little circles before crashing as well. [editline]6th March 2011[/editline] Also, I agree with tutorials on flying. Not that they should be mandatory either, but they should be there - and the game should propose them to you when you crash in your first few hours of playing.
Actually, in BC2 you hit a pole, then you crash on the ground and it STILL haven't exploded.
i don't know if this has been solved already or not, but i remember someone talking about the sprinting animation in first person and how he holds the gun if you look closely you can actually see his hand moving down to where the magazine meets the (i don't know the name, receiver?) it forms a little corner and his hand goes there also about the recoil, the gun was jerking about quite a bit, don't forget the guy playing has probably practiced a few times and is controlling it well with the mouse
There is no BF2 (or I'm blind) thread so I thought I'd ask here, when did they add the F-35 to BF2? I don't remember it.
It's always been there if I remember right, any map with jets and a carrier has the F-35.
I meant to rate agree but it's difficult on a touchscreen.
Just my kind of luck. Some weeks ago I cleaned my room, and put BF2 somewhere. Today I thought "Oh, boy, I really feel like playing some BF2 now", but of course, after looking for 30 minutes, I still can't find the fucker.

I still can't get it to work on Win7 :smith: But I just added my pre-order to my cart on Newegg for when I get my new PC :unsmith:
I had some problems getting mods to install, because BF2 was located on the F drive. I just lunger to play FH2 and PR.
BF2142 stopped working for me when I tried to make the settings higher :v: probably because of my custom resolution settings, I'll try to get it working again since I just got the baur rifle only class left locked is engineer :(
I just mean it doesn't look like the guns have much recoil to them, the M4 in that one gameplay video hardly moves when he shoots it.
What do you mean hardly moves? That recoil is perfect, your view stays steady while scope moves around. Did you expect your view to jump around?
The recoil looked great, considering he was in Full Automatic... It didn't bounce around terribly but even at 30 feet away it was scattering shots in a huge radius
The recoil looked great, considering he was in Full Automatic... Got home and watched it on my PC, bounced around a lot more, not as much as I'd like it to but nothing to bitch about.
re-installed BF2, time to start racking up M16 kills as a medic again.
Am I the only one who gets kind of annoyed when people say Battlefield is realistic?
re-installed BF2, time to start racking up M16 kills as a medic again.
Your avatar is so fitting with that sentence
Am I the only one who gets kind of annoyed when people say Battlefield is realistic?
I get annoyed when people say ARMA is realistic. I get annoyed when people say any game is realistic, because... they're games.
I get annoyed when people say ARMA is realistic. I get annoyed when people say any game is realistic, because... they're games.
ARMA is awful.
RustySpannerz;28461474']ARMA is awful.
I'm pretty sure there are a lot of people out there who like military sims who are fond of it.
Arma is fantastic when you got 30 people on ventrilo Co-Oping against a dynamic enemy, and is one of the most immersive experiences you'll get to actual warfare besides joining up and being sent to war
RustySpannerz;28461474']ARMA is awful.
Arma is fucking amazing.
ARMA is a good game, I used to play it alot. Stopped playing around the time the PMC pack came out. But thats only because the game started this god awful stuttering that I couldnt get rid of even on the lowest settings, and that populated servers lag like fuck unless you make the game look like Delta Force. from a gameplay standpoint, the game is very solid and works good as a military sim. But its not realistic much imo.
RustySpannerz;28461474']ARMA is awful.
Incorrect, ArmA is quite good, especially with the right people.
Incorrect, ArmA is quite good, especially with the right people.
I meant the single-player, I couldn't get into it at all.
RustySpannerz;28461897']I meant the single-player, I couldn't get into it at all.
If you're playing ArmA for single player, you're playing it for all the wrong reasons. [editline]6th March 2011[/editline] Oh God, the Battlefield 3 forums are full of idiots, if it wasn't for the fact that all of the official videos seem to pop up sooner there I would never go there, ever.
