What's with the whole flying off alone in a transport helicopter anyway, what exactly do they expect to accomplish? The pilot doesn't get any weapons.
Usually it's just to get somewhere before anyone else, or to crash into a enemy vehicle but jump out at the last second. Still, even if there are people in the helicopter most pilots still try to crash into an enemy. I hate when i'm shouting "BAIL OUT" and everyone just sits there and i'm saying bail out for a reason. Or when i go into a gunner seat, the pilot doesn't want me there so he spams "BAIL OUT" and if i don't get out he flies to the edge of the map and because the gunner is slightly infront of him he can kill me and i can't do anything about it. They better fix that for BF3.
So, I was playing 2142 earlier today and man it was awesome. I was with a bunch of guys separated from their squads holding a silo at the African solar fields and we kept getting assaulted by waves of hostile PAC forces. It was 3 of us and tons of them. We had a combat engineer, a combat medic (Me) and a sniper. We got assaulted by aircraft, APCs, and Walkers. We kicked their asses. Then our forces came. Our forces pinned down the PAC forces. We won the titian battle. Moral of story, 2142 is still fucking awesome.
I remember there was that little fenced in area on Karkand just ahead of marine spawn, with like sheet metal for a fence protecting an area with wood pallets in it. Going in there was a grenade magnet.

I have mixed feelings about Karkand; one one hand the grenade-spam gets really silly sometimes and chokepoints + flags get turned into dice-roll frag-fests without any real strategy or skill behind it all. The intensity can be really amusing sometimes though (and makes for a nice gameplay contrast against traditional BF2), and it's very easy to earn tons of points (which is rewarding all in itself because of the global ranking & reward system).
I'm expecting the best remaster of the main theme yet from this game. It had better not disappoint.

Snipers better not ruin this game like they did with bad company 2. Half the teams were always sniping.
I'm expecting the best remaster of the main theme yet from this game. I want to hear loud ass trumpets and shit, the original theme got you in the mood for doing battle.

Something like that for BF3 though I would not object to.
I'm expecting the best remaster of the main theme yet from this game. It'd actualy be pretty cool if specops had airstrike designation binoculars, and that you'd get some huge assist for targeting a tank when that tank is destroyed. Sort of like the mortar of bfbc2 except teamwork is actually included. Probably some priorities too, like vehicles over buildings.
Is 2142 worth getting? I've never played it.
Opinions vary. Some call it the best, some call it the worst. I personally would say yes, I liked 2142.
I'd love to play 2142, I even have 2 CD's! [sp]but I've managed to lose both keycodes[/sp] Cool, this was my 666th post.
Is 2142 worth getting? I've never played it.
I enjoyed 2142 a whole lot. It's coming to steam for $10 soon, pick it up then. It's a good game.
Goddamn it I want 2142 on the new engine!
Here's a thought: if rumors are true about how the next CoD game is going to be futuristic, I wouldn't be surprised to see EA follow suit with either BF or MoH.

I bought 4 retail boxes. The 2005 CD edition (First retail box edition), the 2006 Deluxe DVD box set, the 2006 Deluxe CD Set, and the 2008 Complete Collection box. I gave all but the 2005 edition to friends. As for 2142, I couldn't buy a retail box, so I had to get it on EADM.
As much as I hate saying it, I feel that BF3 will end up being like BC2 but with a few improvements.
As much as I hate saying it, I feel that BF3 will end up being like BC2 but with a few improvements.
Your feelings are wrong.
PUNKBUSTER KICKED YOU
Turn off steam overlay. Profit. Of course, that's only the most likely. Punkbuster detects just about anything else too. Here's to hoping they won't use it on BF3 (ha).
I hate Punkbuster so much. It's absolutely fucking useless and a headache to everyone It does, however, have ONE feature that I like, and that's the Clientside screenshot feature... an Admin can tell Punkbuster to take a screenshot of what any player on the server is seeing, and if he's Aimbotting or wallhacking or what have you, it's just like the cheater hit Print Screen himself... ...Then again when it turns out you aren't cheating the Admins just say your screenshot is corrupted and kick you anyway so fuck that server The best Anti Cheat is still Server Admins

I had this dream where BF3 was the most awesome BF game ever and combined all 4 fronts WW2, Vietnam, Modern day and Future Oh man
My friends don't think this game is going to be good. They started playing the series at Bad Company 2, too bad they haven't experienced true Battlefield.
say cold-war era i find it more fitting than JUST the vietnam war
Well, 46 years is rather large time period. You've got the classic German Central Front stuff with full on mechanized combined arms combat, proxy wars in places like Rhodesia and Angola in the 60s-80s, USSR vs Japan for the Kuriles, and the Arab-Israeli Wars. I'm just touching the surface here.
